Blackburn were pretty unlucky and probably could have and should've got that third goal. United did well to fight back a couple of times but it could've gone either way in the end. I think a foul should've been given on the halfway line leading up to the third - although contact was minimal, he clearly got struck in the face and the ref bottled it under the occasion. Rovers have the playoffs to fall back on which is way more important and another shot at Wembley.

Fulham's implode last night was pretty unreal too!

Was a good FA Cup weekend overall. I managed to watch a bit of all the games, loads of goals!
Man City look favourites to win for me with Haaland looking back to his best. Burnley actually did ok for a bit but then City just blitzed them. They will likely do the same to Sheffield Utd in the semis. I would love to see Brighton make the final.
Being a Blackburn fan I was devastated with the game yesterday. At 2-1 up with 15 mins to go I was already looking for train tickets to London and texting @GazzaGarratt getting excited, but then it all went wrong 😢
Fair play to Grimsby they did ok, shame they let in such an early goal though as that killed their chances really.
Then the Utd Fulham game was exciting as well. Was a bit unlucky on Willian the handball and red card, but I don't get why Mitrovic was remonstrating so hard, you can see it's handball but he just totally lost his head.

Simply devastated yesterday 💔 Being so close to Wembley, somewhere where we haven't been since it has changed to the 'New' Wembley, would've been incredible and probably our best chance too. No fault on the players for me. Probably the tie of the round, 2 teams absolutely going for it, end to end. Whilst it could be said i'm bias, I think most were in agreement that Blackburn were the better team overall on the day and just needed one of those chances to go in at 2-1 up to kill the game off.

I'm hoping the international break will give Rovers time to get over the disappointment and push forward to try and seal a play off spot. Still chance to play at Wembley this year...

My taste was very similar to Lee. I had a load of the "Now" cassettes and CDs which probably had 30 songs on them. Then Lee and I used to listen to the boy bands, Five, Backstreet Boys, Take that A1, Another level etc 🤣🤦
I loved Whitney Houston, Beautiful South and the Carpenters, mainly because my parents had those albums.
A guy at my work is well into his music and often sends me an artist to check out which is fun to do. The most recent artists being Caroline Polachek and The Electric Soft Parade

When I was young it was just cheesy pop and chart stuff from the early-mid 90's.

When I was 15 I remember buying and getting into various different artists.
Things like Eminem (Slim Shady Lp +Marshall Mathers)
Also things like Limp Bizkit, KoRn, Greenday, Nirvana, The Offspring, Blink 182 etc amongst many others.

Was listening to more Nu Metal when Linkin Park arrived. Also bands like ill nino, Deftones, American Head Charge, System of a down, Queens of the stone age, Incubus.
I then Starting going more into Heavy metal/Classic rock/Thrash and heavier stuff.
Was listening to Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Deep purple, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pantera Sepultura, Soul Fly. Was probably about 17ish by this time (Almost 20 years ago, Circa 2003ish)

I always had a thing for Funk and soul, blues, reggae, indie and many other genres and rap
I listened and enjoyed dance/electro/House some trance.
Fat beats and DJs, but not happy hardcore.

Just adding new artists over the years. My tastes are varied and vast.
In the last 10 years or so I don't really listen to the heavier stuff, but still appreciate it.
I will listen to most things apart from Chart pop and Country which I don't really enjoy what so ever.
Exceptions being Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson.
Don't mind Bluegrass or that, just not the typical country and western ting.

A mate at work once told me that they did a study that showed you usually switch off to new music around the age of 33 and then start just going over your favourite music types and songs instead of listening to whats in the charts. I can definitely feel that although I do listen to new stuff from similar backgrounds as Spotify is good at linking to your favourite tunes.

@J4MES OX4D, I shit you not that was bang on in the start of my music journey, loved abit of Spice Girls! 🤣🤣 I used to listen to most stuff in the charts in the 90s and early 2000s which was quite eclectic ranging from Dance, Trance, Pop, R&B, Garage, Emo and some Indie.

Pop was my first enjoyment with many Now Thats What I Call Music compilations bought for me. I had a big R&B/Garage time when it hit the charts. Craig David probably being the standout one. Indie had 6-12 month spell with Razorlight, Editors and The Kooks all releasing really good albums. When I was old enough, I loved Trance. Barthezz, Mario Picotto, Paul Van Dyk and other DJs that mixed some great compilations like Ferry Corsten. 80's synth now lives with me alot because before a teenager i'd listen to my mums 80s tracks, which were ace. Lisa Stansfield, Soul 2 Soul, Bryan Adams, etc. I probably search for alot of 80's synth type tracks and find them more entertaining now than anything new these days!

One thing I would say is I struggle to listen to new songs that seem to all be Rap songs to an extent. They just don't seem to have a melodic tune to go with them, not like early Rap with Gangsta's Paradise and Set Adrift on Memory Bliss.

We have discussed a few games the last couple of nights and speak to Lee yesterday about how Friday's have sort of becoming just COD by default I thought I would put up a thread to discuss other games we all have (or might be willing to pick up) and see if we can generate some interest for different games to keep switching it up and keep Friday's a little more fresh? COD's fine but we play it a fair few nights of the week 😄

Just going through my library I have the following that might be good or sound like there has been appetite in the past -
    GTA V
    Destiny 2
Worms WMD (This was spoke about last night and has more that old school worms vibe it seems)
    Among us
    Overwatch 2
    Fall Guys
    Hell let loose?
Star wars battlefront 2 (As something different)
Battlefield 2042 (As it's free on ps plus)
    Rocket League

Just nosing through the store as well, just wondering if there would be appetite for any of these -
Diablo 2 remaster (Not sure if this is to everyones taste but has an 8 player limit apparently)
    Super bomberman
    Crash Team Racing
    Everybodys golf
    Conan Exiles

If anyone has any other suggestions, ideally games of 8 players or more I suppose?

My thinking is if I can see people or up for playing any of the above I'm happy to put the event up every now and again as Lee has his hands full a bit at the moment it sounds like ^_^

The most successful FG Friday games will also be the ones most accessible to large parties grouping up and the ones that cover off an element of variety in-game. I think the staple games I'll always try and arrange nights as a minimum for FG are:

GTA Races (Car races and other car modes can take up to 16-18, others slightly less) Among Us & Fall Guys (Both really require at least 10 of us to play so its more varied, and worthwhile to try out - also, these games normally have a 2 hour limit cos they are simplistic games). CoD MW Remastered (Most have it cos it was free years ago on PS Plus - and you can have up to 16-18 on Gun Game) CoD MW2 (Seems to be the most up to date game most have and does have many gamemodes that can be used in Private Matches. Need to check can we have more than 12 in Private though) Wreckfest (Max 16 players. When we all have PS5s that goes up to 24)
Couple of things to mention. We've slacked this year on FG Fridays because I have. No excuses. I ploughed effort into all parts of FG in Jan and haven't got a rythm going yet. Also, to get new games into this list reglarly is extremely difficult because a) not everyone owns whatever game we suggest and b) most other games struggle to get anywhere near 12 in one group. A few thoughts on the other candidates that would work some one off nights but maybe not as regular FG Fridays:

Battlefield 2042 or 4 - Most have 4, some have 2042. The squad size is an absolute killer. Max 4 in squad is just a nightmare. Private matches are difficult as maps are so big. It would help if we had 20+ for this, so more FGers are needed for sure. Destiny 2 - Most have it but limited to 6v6 Deathmatch or Control. Difficult because most haven't played much so may not have a back catalog of guns so if we wanted to be creative, we struggle because there aren't the same guns owned by everyone. You also sometimes find people joke too much about this which puts people off it before we even play. Overwatch 2 - We did try this a few times. Main challenge is again the max party size. Can only really play team games so 3v3, 4v4 or now max 5v5 which is a PITA cos it used to be 6v6. Most nights on FPS tend to need a large Free For All mode, like Gun Game, One in the Chamber, Snipers Only, etc, but I think FFA is maxed out at 8 on this game. Star Wars BF2 - We tried this once, was really up for it - max 4 in squad killed it. Such a stupid rule as we hoped it would work but no one could get on with it for Private or Public lobbies. Most own it though. Super Bomberman - We've done this a few more times and has been successful a few times. You can have up to 64 players and game is cheap on PS Store if not owned. Difficulty is longevity. Some struggle to play more than 30 mins, max 60. Would work well with a Fall Guys or Among Us night. Brawhalla - Max 8 players. Fun small game and similar to Bomberman. Just wish more than 8 could join. Sports games like Golf, other Racers. I think these would work well but difficulty is many don't own the same game or version to crossplay.
I could go on, but as you can see its something I've put a lot of effort and thought into over the years and continue to do so. Challenge is understanding the whole FG crowd and trying to find something that hits the spot on. Thats tough sometimes as we are a very unique and diverse group. FG Fridays don't always have to be large 12+ nights, always open to try out other stuff that has lower max players. The challenge is always what do you do when max is 10 and 11th person shows up. We try to help where possible with larger ones so no one misses out. Maybe the RSVP system needs to be used better here, I don't know if i'm honest.

One thing is clear though, no matter how many turn up, FG Fridays were and still are killer as long as everyone makes an effort to get the word out and join in, even if you were hoping to play one of the other games on the list.

I'll think of some other options out these when I check whats available for cheap or owned in our back catalog.

I've noticed a few mistakes about the games.
Resi 2 was claire and Leon which for both you had scenario A & B which when you play A for Leon you had claires B going on as you run in to each other through out the game then vice versa.
Resi 1 you had Jill & Chris but there was multiple endings you just had to do minimal changes through out the game for the endings.
For resi 3 the original if I recall you had ly 2 endings one had barry Burton from resi 1 and that's the only 2 games you see barry in.

And also number 2 as you could do the story through twice with slightly different paths playing as either Chris or Jill  @GazzaGarrattand I spent many hours on them back in the day and would constantly shit ourselves! I might have to get on them again now but I'm too scared 😱😀

So I completed the story the other day, it was decent and the ending had that Harry Potter feel too it. I think the game lost some of it's charm doing the trophies as it was a lot of go from point A to point B to kill monster A or to collect chest 139 etc.

That said I have only 3 trophies to go which require me playing through to the map chamber with the other 3 houses, can't imagine it will take me too long to do that so might actually have another platinum come this weekend ^_^

My final thoughts on the game -
Exploring Hogwarts is magical, as someone who grew up with the franchise it is just incredible seeing it brought to life in a new way. Collecting the various chests etc in Hogwarts was also great fun, finding little passageways, puzzle rooms and  interacting with some of the paintings and such. The story was better than I expected I think, I did not really expect much as I thought the whole focus would be on Hogwarts and thus not leave much for other aspects of the game. Though it won't happen I would not mind seeing what happens to the main protaginist after his time at Hogwarts. Visually it was great, the first time seeing Hogwarts is one of those gaming moments you won't forget (despite it looking even better on the big screen). The combat grew on me, as you learn more spells you can combine them to do more damage and such and hitting a troll with his own club is always funny. That said it is not clear some of the things can be done in combat, it could have done with a bit more to try and show you how creative you can be with the combat as it is so easy to just use your preferred spells and then never discover that you can pull a Dugbug up into the air by it's tongue. There were some great little details, just the way you open the kitchen was as you would expect, the way you could run into Peeves getting up to mischief almost anywhere. The wider open game area was really quite badly done I felt. Camps were never explained, treasure caverns were somewhat pointless, a lot of the exploring of the map was just to find collectibles and there were no real stories or side quests to be found out there. It just felt quite lifeless because of it. The game did not feel finished, maybe rushed so that it did not suffer another delay. Quidditch missing seemed absurd, I imagine it will be brought in as DLC now but the cheapness of why it wasn't in the game with the bed in the hospital with a note and it all saying redacted by the headmaster. Harry almost died in the films and yet they never cancelled quidditch did they? The other thing that irked me somewhat is that in what school would a teacher (Fig) encourage their student to be galivanting around the countryside going into undead crypts, fighting Trolls and fighting Goblin rebellions. Though Dumbledore was grooming Harry the rest of the teachers would not have allowed it yet in the game it's somewhat encouraged, why was there not more sneaking out of the school to go and search said crypt and avoiding prefects or teachers to get out. Oh and from what I can tell you can't really play a good or evil playthrough. I tried to play a good playthrough and then you use the ancient magic on an enemy only for it to bash said enemy's head off the floor or turn them into something small and stamp on them. Equally so there is one storyline where you can see someone going down a dark path and even up until the last decision the character is somewhat defending and justifying what he is doing. It just feels like whatever way you play it, it would not have any impact on the game. I reckon if I went around killing people with the killing curse everyone at Hogwarts would treat me the same and that just doesn't feel right in modern open world games. Heck back in the first Fable game if you were evil then npc's would respond differently so it's not a new idea or new tech. My thoughts are me keeping the HP tinted specs off, as a HP fan it would be easy to just claim this as the best game this generation so far but there have been better games over the past 10 years.

I will do my plat trophy now and then maybe do another full play through once any / all dlc has come out 🙂  It's a good game I just felt that they could have done so much more / better, but I suppose this is the studio's first proper open world isn't it? So they have things to learn.

I have added a bit of structure because otherwise I just won't play half of them, I have decided I will pick like 3 games and see which I am feeling when I complete Hogwarts so that I am not tied to just 1 game. So they will all be different genres and it will be whatever style of game I fancy when I get to them. I like the idea of us all picking a game, essentially a bit like a book club ^_^ Maybe put up a poll for several games and see what the majority have available to them and pick one of those.
