  1. Turned out to be a very enjoyable race, and no one seemed to get left behind, which was nice to see. Penalties didn't really feature in the race, which was good, and to be honest I thought it was very straightforward. I managed to go a whole race without fucking up or getting fucked up. Kiwi managed to do the whole 5 laps on one tank and it nearly paid off. Excellent strategy. I'll post the league table up later today.
  2. Madame Sterling talks of EA and Bioware and the industry at large with some commentary I tend to agree with, minus the boglins🙂
  3. It is clear to me now that I'm going to have to channel my inner Ronnie Pickering 🤔😅
  4. Great report @Greboth from a great night of racing🙂
  5. I've not even tried Control from last month yet, I hear its decent. This month they have knocked it out the park, across the river and into my back garden🤗
  6. Yep, semi conductors being pretty much all produced by one company doesn't help but it's a matter of logistics in the long run. The pandemic slowed everything down in all sorts of ways. The occasional bursts of crypto mining fever dont help either. I had a similar problem when buying my 1080 ti. It was over a grand for a year and a half before I found it for £700
  7. Yep, soon as the cards are properly available and properly priced you'll be sorted with £1400 to play with👍 Look forward to it❤
  8. Well mr @Shucker its not stopping in June, that's the start of the Summer season, so you'll be waiting until December 😅 It's only as sweaty as you make it yourself. Makes zero sense after buying a wheel but each to their own I suppose? 🤔😆
  9. Have a look at PC Part Picker too, it has a system builder and shows if there any compatibility issues. Prices are pretty steep these days so with that budget you're looking at a 1080p build at most I would say.
  10. The penalty system will be on but it's very flawed unfortunately
  11. Bandersnatch I think it was called, by Charlie Brooker the guy who made Black Mirror
  12. I think the best way is to deal with incidents post race. It doesn't save anyone whose race has been ruined but points deductions and other penalties, such as starting the next race from last place will hopefully provide some recourse. Happy to discuss and I'll try and draw up specific penalties before race 1.
  13. Now then, my only issue with this is what version of Shep we will get. The thing about the games is that you could play him as a nice guy, or a bit of a wanker, you could choose your love interest....and you have to choose on more than one occasion which of your companions lives or dies. Netflix did a show a year or two ago where you could choose between options at various stages, that would be cool if you could choose your Shepherd and some of his or hers or theres decisions 🙂
  14. I dunno, we all read what happened, they went into with no thought or any idea what they wanted to do, except make money of course. If it's just a soulless exercise for the mighty dollar and no one is putting their heart into it I find it totally normal that it would fail.

  17. EA enhancing their reputation as usual🙃
  18. That's a great shout actually, I was supposed to add that but forgot. I'm kind of copying how Gran Turismo do their league. I'll include it in the top post, cheers 🙂
  19. Ok, so here we go. Spring Season starts on March 2nd and each Tuesday we will dedicate one race as a League race. Points for places from 12 weekly races. Best results from 9 races count towards final tally to decide seasonal winners. This will be decided after all 12 races are done. I'll add the specific points available at the end. I'll put a league table up after race 1. Each seasonal winner will also generate points for the Grand Final in December. Spring Season weekly tracks Season_Week Track Class s1_wk1 Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans) Gr.3 s1_wk2 Autodromo De Interlagos Gr.3 s1_wk3 Autodromo Lago Maggiore GP Gr.3 s1_wk4 Autodromo Nazionale Monza Gr.3 s1_wk5 Autopolis International Racing Course Gr.4 s1_wk6 Fuji Speedway Gr.2 s1_wk7 Dragon Trail - Seaside Gr.3 s1_wk8 Red Bull Ring Gr.4 s1_wk9 Tokyo Expressway N200 s1_wk10 WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Gr.3 s1_wk11 Williow Springs International Raceway Gr.4 s1_wk12 Alsace Gr.2 I'll add the tyres, fuel etc a week in advance. I'm also open to switching the class for each race, with enough notice. There will also be post race stewards enquiries for poor driver sportsmanship and points may be reallocated. Might need impartial volunteers for this 😁 Races - FG league points 1st place = 25 2nd place = 20 3rd place = 15 4th place = 12 5th = 11 Etc DNF = 0 Season winners will take 8 points into the grand final, where all scores are reset. The grand final will comprise 3 races, of which the last carries double points. Gimme a shout if there's anything unclear or if you have any constructive criticism of 👍
  20. It’s going to be a mixed bag next week. We’re doing a rally race, a wet race and a standard race, of which the latter will be the first FG League race, and places will determine points and standings in the Spring Season FG Race League. Calendar for next week will be up today and full league schedule for the Spring Season will be up by the end of the week. I’ll do a thread on that and explain how the points system works etc
  21. Another good night of racing, 13 of us in the first race, the maximum it allows is 16 and I think we’ll get that when everyone is free. Just going to talk about my experience today. I’m starting to find some improvement now in my wheel driving and I’m almost as fast as I was on controller. Felt I had some pace last night in qualifying for the first time. I’m still more inconsistent and prone to silly mistakes on the wheel and my race pace needs improving but overall I’m improving and enjoying the feeling of improving. I qualified well for race 1 and was going well but for an incident I thought was caused by @GazzaGarratt shunting me, which was not the case, I’m going to watch that back to see what happened. Race 2 I messed up the start and went straight to the back but quickly made up places and went up to 3rd or 4th…until I was rear ended by @Stretch616 going round the last corner. I’m so unlucky😅 I enjoy driving that Mazda and it was a fun race, if a bit slow. Should really have finished 3rd in race 3. I qualified in 3rd and followed behind a Greboth struggling on Hards for a couple of laps. I had a good gap to @Mikepjbell in 4th which was maintained until lap 6 where I pitted my worn Medium tyres. When I came out after pitting I was only a second behind Mike. I was cool sitting behind him at first as I expected him to pit as well. But the fucker was on Hards and stayed out. Over the next couple of laps I made multiple attempts to pass him but lost my composure on one turn, went off track and hit a wall. Great drive by Mike on dying tyres. Really enjoyed the races, some good banter and I encourage everyone to get on next week as one of the races will be the first FG League race. Which I’ll talk more of in another thread.
  22. This game was one of the few reasons for picking up a PS5 but I hear Sony are planning to let more of their games go to PC...... here's hoping😁
  23. I always find it funny when important gaming information turns up in a non gaming media. This from PS5 head honcho Jim Ryan...in GQ 🙄 "GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.”
  24. Nice one, will get you added on Steam at some point today. I came back to PC gaming around 2012, first with Civilisation 5 and then with the DayZ mod. But I was using a work laptop which allowed me about an hour an a half on DayZ before overheating and dying. I loved that mod so much I saved my pennies for a gaming machine, best move I ever made.
  25. That's really cool. There used to be only a few of us that played PC but that's really changed in the last year or two. There's quite a big gang now. Also, I would say pretty much all of us have every game you mentioned one way or another 😁
