I'm done. This is fucking ridiculous. I realise it's a Beta but surely they'd improve as they go? Tonight is unplayable. I get such massive amounts of lag it's ridiculous. The game just freezes for a second or two solid. I shoot someone, miss the headshot, and by the time the game's recovered, I'm dead. Even the countdown timer between spawns lags. Then the game crashed. I'll be on BF3 until this is released, hopefully this'll be sorted, but as it is tonight, it's unplayable.

Another thing that's really starting to get on my tits is the inconsistency. Sometimes I'll join the first server - no issues. Other times, I'll have to go through 15 servers to find one that doesn't say "something went wrong". And then, it's not guaranteed to be silky smooth either - sometimes things like scoping in, using the recon spotter thingy and other things causes a MASSIVE fps drop. Like a slide show. I know it's not my system because it's generally great, but this gets extremely irritating, especially when you're on your tenth server and 20 minutes of trying to get into a game. I can only hope that this is addressed in the launch version. As it is now, this shit just pisses me off.

When playing Domination, there's only one roof you can get on to as far as I'm aware, the one on top of C. Initially I thought that the only way to get up there was via the elevator but there are a few ladders around the place too. Sometimes you can get up there by ladder which means you can pretty much take out all the people on the roof, at one point it was 8 kills. Whilst they were losing. Tanks are a pain the in the ass, but it's oh-so-fun taking them out as recon.

You can always rely on the gaming community to act like a bunch of 5 year olds and exploit every cheap tactic in the game to get kills. These are almost always the same people that will literally watch their team lose but not move from their spot in case they get killed. These are the ones who sit on rooftops, prone, aimed at elevators. The ones who also sit on rooftops with noobtubes and spam the hell outta them. I realise that we all have our moments, but when you spend about 10 games in a lobby and the same people are on the roof, every single time, you're just a dick. There are also those who choose to use aimbots, I've seen these in action myself and have researched them - you can get them for $20 a month. Unbelievable. The game hasn't even been released yet, but gamers have found a way to fuck it all up for others. Given the intelligence level displayed by these people, I can only imagine that their most used phrase in life is "mommy can I have more milk?" or "would you like fries with that?", which is what gives me hope. This game ain't cheap, so I'm hoping that once the paid release comes out, that we lose some of these idiots who display every single kind of bad sportsmanship purely to get that extra kill or deliberately try and irritate people. On the flipside though, if they managed to get a PC that can run this, then odds are they can afford the game... we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm running a gtx770 superclocked. I'm still having issues though, but I think it could well be my antique hdd starting to give in. I'm looking at getting a Kingston SSDnow soon, and I also need to look at networking solutions. I might just start drilling and feed an ethernet cable through my ceiling if I can. Not sure how well a signal will transmit through home plugs in my place.

Mkay, I'm in love. No two ways about it. Those who reckon it's BF3,5 can kiss my arse, it's a whole different game. First off, I didn't enjoy it at first because I was having framerate and lag issues. The last update seemed to fix it, so I'm running buttery smooth on Ultra apart from the odd packet loss due to my shitty WiFi card. The vehicles I've used so far (ground only) handle much more responsively than their predecessors. The new mode, Obliteration is awesome sexy fun. The map is amazing. Honestly, the size, scale, the height of some of the buildings, it's just phenomenal. If the console guys are having the same experience as me, then this is an all round very solid success. Now all I need to do is die less and kill more. I also need a new WiFi card as this thing is actually costing my a fight now and then. Battlefield's done it again, except this time, I'm here from day one. Roll on.

The hud is removed by using an addon. Can't remember what it's called but it used to be fine until Punkbuster updated so you could potentially get a permanent ban from the game by using it. The rotation shot is hundreds of screen shots animated to look like a scene. Each one will be a character moving around to get the shot, hency why it looks "laggy" when it spins around.

Datte, we know you're in a tough spot bud, just as you know we're always here for you. This thread isn't even a prime example but there have been a few in the past, the most notable occasion was in the shoutbox when you mentioned looking at steaks and then having to eat cereal and water. It's those that rub people up the wrong way. People see this as using your position as attention seeking, regardless of your intentions. As I'm sure you're aware, once people start getting frustrated with other people, they are much more cynical to what said person does or says, and it appears that's what's happening here. You might have good intentions, just having a laugh and chatting about things, but some people might perceive it as otherwise. Think of it like this: your granddad served in the war and is one of those people who won't keep quiet about it. All his sentences start with "when I was in the war...". You can see how that'd get annoying, right? And eventually it gets to the point where every time he starts speaking, you're thinking "what now old man? ". It's not just that. The same can be said for anything: hobbies, new parents, religion, etc etc. I've also noticed that you mention your situation a lot. Don't get me wrong, I'm always here if you need s chat, as are Tommy and Chris, but we're well aware of it - there's no need to bring it up all the time. Try keep an eye on that dude, it's nothing big, just a part of learning how to deal with other people as you grow up. Of course people could jump all over you, but at the end of the day we're all family here and if you can't rely on us to point you in the right direction every now and then, then you may end up on the wrong side of people who could actually positively affect your life at some point. And don't get angry with Tommy or Chris, as I said we're all family here and a family that never has disputes is dysfunctional. I would like to ask the other participants in this little dispute to please take a moment to think about a way to discuss these things better without it turning into a silly dispute as it has now.
