Fibre is installed in numerous ways. The easiest means tying some fibre onto the existing copper cable, and pulling it through like that. The most difficult means starting from scratch. You'd be surprised at how non-intrusive they can make it. Odds are that the cable has been there for years, they've just connected it to an exchange. What BT and Virgin tend to do is wait up opportunities, so rather than dig up a road for a cable installation, they wait for the road to be resurfaced and hit two birds with one stone. Of course that cable might not actually be connected to anything, but once the next stretch of resurfacing goes down, they'll connect more or even hook it up to an exchange. It's pretty complicated, but all you need to worry about is having that socket in your house. They can't simply inconvenience people every time they want to lay a bit of cable, that requires months of planning permissions.

Well herp-de-fuckin-derp, that means I've been missing out on all that action for.... forever. As for 64 player matches, I try to avoid them, these maps aren't designed for that, or my reactions aren't at least. I find 64 player matches to be a massive clusterfuck with too much going on. Think Operation Metro but on al the maps and you get a rough idea. I'm probably just shit though.

I've been rocking the engineer today. Basically I was getting sick and tired of aircraft pwning me all day long, so I started doing some research and discovered something which has changed the game completely for me. See, I always thought that you needed a sniper with a soflam to designate targets before you could fire rockets at them. The result of today's research is discovering that the Stinger will lock on itself, which is brilliant. I've taken out a few choppers already but jets are a bit more challenging. I've also been running anti tank mines which are lovely for holding down flags too. I just had a match on Golmund Railway where I pretty much single handedly held down E, and my commander was bloody helpful too, making sure I was stocked up all the time with mines and rockets. Gutted I didn't record it, it was by far my most fun / best gameplay yet, it really freshened up the game for me.

That's the base level netcode, and will basically require recoding from the ground up to fix, which is why it hasn't been fixed yet. DICE is also remarkably quiet about it.

It's not bad. It's not good, brilliant or whatever, just not bad. The PC version was plagued with bots and shit that were farming for stuff, so they could sell said stuff on the real cash auction house, I don't know if that transferred over to the consoles or not. It also got a bit samey samey after a while, after a few hours I was just thinking "how about some sunshine?", it was all drab and dreary, which is the point of the game, but that's the main thing that made me stop playing, and interest waned. I'm not sure if the consoles will have all the stuff that PCs had, we literally had thousands of goodies, and the map was massive. If so I'll be impressed, but I doubt it.

I did. When Dylan started posting on our forums, his posts looked like someone lobbed a can of alphaghetti spaghetti at the screen and it took 20 minutes to decipher them. I told him to put that in front of every post as it'll force him to concentrate a bit more and slow down a bit. Being the legend he is, he obliged, and now not only is he more understandable, but it's become his trademark and he's sort of the FG mascot too. I think Russell is an idiot, but I can appreciate his way of doing things. Whereas this interview could've turned into a massive argument and potential fight, he managed to keep it light and humorous, which is about all you could hope to achieve with the WBC - they're a bunch of nutters.

Yep. Basically Google has this publisher thing which analyzes your site and offers advice on how to improve things, for example the images on this site can be reduced in size but still look the same, some Javascript needs a few tweaks, things like that. They're all minor things, and will take me an age given my coding abilities but you can expect the site to start running a bit smoother over the coming weeks.

Well the SQL issues seem to be resolved lately, *touches wood*, so let's hope they stay like that. On a side note, I have been doing loads of research on how to optimize things, and I'll be rolling out some changes in the next week or so, so if you log on and the site's down, please note that this is for maintenance purposes only and will hopefully only be for a short while.
