There was a beta weekend nearly 2 weeks ago for console. I was away so couldn't try it out. Did anyone else try it at all? It definitely looks like one of those games you could play for an hour just to pass the time. Similar to Rocket League feeling. Its not a game you'd play all night, but I think thats a good thing its not targeted to be anything that it isn't.

Yea, this game is a hard pass for me. Bungie rode the fans love from Halo into Destiny, only to start monetizing everything in D2, and I am just done with them.

This game came out in early access a year ago, it's been plodding along and the next update is said to be pretty good. I'll be jumping back on when it drops, hoping the lag has been sorted.

I've been playing this and it's fantastic. Miles better than Doom Eternal and on par with Doom 2016. The combat is satisfyingly meaty.

Lots of turnover at Bungie in recent years. Lots of very good trusted people have left. I think they've got caught up in the world of social media too much now and the scales have tipped so much that they didn't realise they were just like most other companies under the hood but they wanted to portray they weren't as such. No one is ever that squeaky clean in this game, we've all seen it too much over and over. That being said, Marathon just won't have that pull that Destiny or Halo will, you can already feel that looking at the gameplay. Id hate it to be another Concord but something tells me it has a chance. Separately though, this won't make me stop going back to Destiny. Not played that in nearly 2 years I feel, but that has a world that has great content still and they are making changes that actually supports many of the casual players we all are now. Buying expansions is better in that game than many others where we all buy battlepasses.

Love that Phil. I've been watching a ton of clips and it really nails the genre well, and seems like loads of fun too. I didn't realise it was not out still yet. When's the release date supposed to be? Is it just PC still for the meantime?

Plus the enhanced editions wont overwrite the classics which is great. Any other AAA company would've removed the originals from sale and replaced them with broken AI outsourced garbage costing £49.99.

Great result for Palace yesterday, Man City are a very weird team right now. Interesting to see what's become of Haaland this season and says a lot he didn't take the penalty.

Interesting to see that unlike many other of their contemporaries they've chosen not to charge owners of the originals for the upgrades.

There's rumours this may get released earlier than intended after the positive feedback from the playtest. Here's some excellent teamwork from Drew and his crew.

I've played about 12 hours so far and I can comfortably say this is one of the best games of the generation so far. The world design is stunning, the story is intriguing, the characters and voice acting is top tier and the writing is fantastic. Even the music is stunningly beautiful. The combat is great fun as it combines what you'd normally see in a JRPG, but with interactive QTE moments enabling you to dodge, parry and counterattack, rather than let the computer and RNG determine it for you. You have to learn enemy move-sets like you would typically in the likes of Sekiro and this can be a challenge in itself along with timing the inputs perfectly within the small window available. The game is pretty linear at its core but this is good as it cuts out all the open world crap that plagues modern games. There's no filler here - everything flows incredibly well and you are constantly engaged especially with the characters and the remarkable story. To think just 30 people made this using Unreal 5 and it's only just over 50gb is absolutely crazy! Expedition 33 is just so far ahead of what any other AAA developer can churn out now, it is quite frankly embarrassing for the likes of Ubisoft and BioWare. It'll be a huge wake-up call for Final Fantasy too. It's games like this that make actually save the industry. The fact it's only £30-40 when AAA games are to be pushing £75-80 makes this an essential purchase. I'm also glad the shadow-release of Oblivion Remastered hasn't hampered its success - 2m copies sold in 12 days and it's the fastest selling game of its kind even ahead of Final Fantasy, Persona and Yakuza.

Time to research some mods then!

I need to get Clair still. I keep forgetting it I uninstalled Destiny 2 yesterday, the "reveal" was garbage, just like the game these days. I started to play this last night, and didn't get past the character creator, I was going to make a nord because Skyrim, but then I was going to make an elf, because I have never made one before, but then I settled on a:

I've had time for 3 proper raids so far, 2 of which I successfully extracted. The game is done really well, I'm not usually a fan of 3rd person but here, like the Division games, it feels very smooth. Sound is excellent, guns feel good to use, there's a good tutorial and there's a skill system that's pretty straightforward. I'm busy today until the evening but if the playtest is still live tonight I'll definitely be jumping on again.

Fans asked for Destiny 3, we get a larger Eververse, and marathon....

No Maddison, no Kulusevski. I'm not hopeful 🙃
