  1. I work in a bookstore on Sundays, England's oldest anarchist bookshop, which has been around since the 1880s. We had a book event tonight for Tim Wells who writes about skinhead werewolves in East London 😁 Freedom Bookshop (@freedombookshop) • Instagram photo WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM Freedom Bookshop shared a post on Instagram: "This Friday @timwellsauthor joins us in the...

  2. Yeah man, I didn't discover music until I was about 14 and found out there was a whole world of music to explore, thanks mostly to a mate at school. Such pleasure, music is one of the best things human beings do. Even the shit music I hate😅

  3. I love it. I should be reading last thing at night but I've been on this a lot. Personally, for shooters I'll be sticking to PC, although I should try it with a keyboard and mouse at some point. I've been working though Disco Elysium, South Park stick of truth and started No Mans Sky last night....but I've about 17 games installed at the moment and I've played a little bit of Hotwheels Unleashed, Prey, the Ascent, CloudPunk, GTA 4, Katana Zero and Divinity Original Sin. I haven't tried DayZ and not sure how well it is optimised but I'll check and let you know🙂 I hear they've ramped up production so I'm sure yours will be available im no time.

  4. PMJ are pretty awesome at what they do. My personal favourites of theirs is Gangsta's Paradise and Pinky and the Brain theme song. 👍

  5. I've killed the second boss now. Once I discovered you only need a max of 12 cultists in order to unlock all the areas, I did just that and am focusing more now on the dungeon delving. I've run into a few bugs that have caused me to fail a few follower quests. One example, a follower informs you that their friend wants to marry you. So, if you have the marriage ritual unlocked, You can go into your temple and perform the ceremony. The only problem is there is only ever 6 followers in the temple when you do and half the time, it isn't the one you need to finish the quest. !@#$ Anyways, Let's go kill another boss or two.

  6. When @Rumelylady and I were planning our wedding, we had a very 50s theme going for the invitations. When we went looking for a specific song to accompany it, as well as the general theme for the wedding, we went to Post Modern Jukebox and found this unique cover of a song I didn't really care for until I heard this version. Still love this one. I'd also recommend checking out some of the other arrangements they;ve done for other popular songs over the years.

  7. My best mates dad used to have an amp and big Wharfdale speakers. We used to raid his Lp collection and listen to all sorts of excellent music. Everything from Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Bowie, Bob Marley, The Clash, Aerosmith, Van Halen and hundreds more. We were about 10 or 11 and all the other kids in School were listening to Spice Girls, Peter Andre and Now that's what I call music cassettes. Looking back it's me and my mates introduction to decent music and we will always be thankful for that. 😎

  9. It's not even a discussion, vinyl and analogue piss all over digital music 🙂 I do use Spotify and they are supposed to be upping the quality of the streams at some point but they'll never be able to sound as good. I have a record player, an old Kenwood amp and a few hundred vinyl records still, so will occasionally annoy the neighbours with the superior sound 😁

  10. One of the first albums I bought. Got it from my mum’s mail order catalogue when I was 15. I remember vinyl records, those were the days, warped if you weren’t careful, lovely analogue sound, bloody digital “streaming”, mumble, mutter, mumble....

  12. Scotland's finest. Here a song from their underrated third album. They also have the best b-sides of any band I have ever encountered 🙂

  14. I do have a soft spot for VU, the banana album and the last one, Loaded (which was pretty much all Lou Reed) get listens once in a while. Teenage me saw them play in the early 90s when they reformed briefly, tripping my arse off, of course 😁

  16. @phil bottle That Eek a mouse tune is good. This is my favourite from him. I think it's one of his originals that has been sampled, extended and turned into a filthy dub. It's absolute 🥊🔥🔥🥊🎳🎯💯👌

  17. Yeah Dub Fx is a pretty cool dude. Like you say must be awesome to work with all those artists. Eek a mouse is a legend, going to check out the track you posted. Don't think I've heard it before. Eventho old Eek is the best, he still sounds amazing with Dub Fx and that is only 4 years ago!

  22. That's great news Phil. I do wonder how long the guarantee is because what happens if you start getting stick drift over time? Any chance they'll sort that for you? Are there settings in each game that recognise you're on a steam deck and then it reassigns the buttons accordingly? Would love to play this on holidays, especially with the survival games like Valheim and even perhaps 7 Days. Two Point Hospital would be a given on this system - just have to weigh up the game choices as it looks and sounds like the switch so far in terms of what i would use it for.

  24. They have quite a decent sound, a nice chuggy Riff. Guys voice is more melodic than I expected. Solo started getting good when the tremelo picking began. The bridge Riff is pretty tasty as well. 👍

  25. Have now moved onto a book by Philip Ruff - A Towering Flame - essentially some Latvian and anarchist history that briefly connects to London and the famous Siege of Sidney Street.

  26. Sure so long as it doesn't impact on the rest of the production. Otherwise games might start being produced to a lesser standard to be compatible with the Steam Deck.

  27. I think it's gonna be a case of some developers having to optimise their games specifically for this system. Ones with controller support immediately have an advantage but others may need improved display and scaling support. There may also be instances where some games are just not suitable to be played this way. The device may also come with a quick-zoom function or something too.

  28. This does look interesting, even though it only outputs at 720p. With this being the case though, what about text on screen? wouldn't that be a little small? I imagine if you play certain games, action adventures or FPS, this should be great. I already see mention of Civ on this, but do you think it would work? I have Civ on the VITA and that's a watered down game compared to the full game, I can imagine the resolution and screen size alone wouldn't be ideal for them types of games unless they are designed with handheld in mind. Then there's grand strategy games like HOI or RTS games like Company of Heroes, them I can see as not being ideal for something like this. So it'll highly depend on the games you play. The concept is awesome though, price tag not so much. Although if you can load other apps on the device, having GOG Galaxy installed for some of the older titles would be super cool to have on the go.
