  1. I work in a bookstore on Sundays, England's oldest anarchist bookshop, which has been around since the 1880s. We had a book event tonight for Tim Wells who writes about skinhead werewolves in East London 😁 Freedom Bookshop (@freedombookshop) β€’ Instagram photo WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM Freedom Bookshop shared a post on Instagram: "This Friday @timwellsauthor joins us in the...

  2. Yeah man, I didn't discover music until I was about 14 and found out there was a whole world of music to explore, thanks mostly to a mate at school. Such pleasure, music is one of the best things human beings do. Even the shit music I hateπŸ˜…

  3. I love it. I should be reading last thing at night but I've been on this a lot. Personally, for shooters I'll be sticking to PC, although I should try it with a keyboard and mouse at some point. I've been working though Disco Elysium, South Park stick of truth and started No Mans Sky last night....but I've about 17 games installed at the moment and I've played a little bit of Hotwheels Unleashed, Prey, the Ascent, CloudPunk, GTA 4, Katana Zero and Divinity Original Sin. I haven't tried DayZ and not sure how well it is optimised but I'll check and let you knowπŸ™‚ I hear they've ramped up production so I'm sure yours will be available im no time.

  4. PMJ are pretty awesome at what they do. My personal favourites of theirs is Gangsta's Paradise and Pinky and the Brain theme song. πŸ‘

  5. My best mates dad used to have an amp and big Wharfdale speakers. We used to raid his Lp collection and listen to all sorts of excellent music. Everything from Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Bowie, Bob Marley, The Clash, Aerosmith, Van Halen and hundreds more. We were about 10 or 11 and all the other kids in School were listening to Spice Girls, Peter Andre and Now that's what I call music cassettes. Looking back it's me and my mates introduction to decent music and we will always be thankful for that. 😎

  7. How you getting on with it @phil bottle? My preorder shouldn't be far off. Can it run DayZ and stuff like that or is that a bridge too far? Ideally I was going for both a new PC and the steam deck, but it's going to have to be one or the other.

  8. It's not even a discussion, vinyl and analogue piss all over digital music πŸ™‚ I do use Spotify and they are supposed to be upping the quality of the streams at some point but they'll never be able to sound as good. I have a record player, an old Kenwood amp and a few hundred vinyl records still, so will occasionally annoy the neighbours with the superior sound 😁

  9. One of the first albums I bought. Got it from my mum’s mail order catalogue when I was 15. I remember vinyl records, those were the days, warped if you weren’t careful, lovely analogue sound, bloody digital β€œstreaming”, mumble, mutter, mumble....

  11. Scotland's finest. Here a song from their underrated third album. They also have the best b-sides of any band I have ever encountered πŸ™‚

  13. I do have a soft spot for VU, the banana album and the last one, Loaded (which was pretty much all Lou Reed) get listens once in a while. Teenage me saw them play in the early 90s when they reformed briefly, tripping my arse off, of course 😁

  15. Yeah Dub Fx is a pretty cool dude. Like you say must be awesome to work with all those artists. Eek a mouse is a legend, going to check out the track you posted. Don't think I've heard it before. Eventho old Eek is the best, he still sounds amazing with Dub Fx and that is only 4 years ago!

  16. The dub fx guy has been going round for a few years now and has gotten some very good artists to work with him, he must have a great time doing what he does. Now for some Eek a mouse in his youthful glory: No wicked cannot reign πŸ˜‰

  23. That's great news Phil. I do wonder how long the guarantee is because what happens if you start getting stick drift over time? Any chance they'll sort that for you? Are there settings in each game that recognise you're on a steam deck and then it reassigns the buttons accordingly? Would love to play this on holidays, especially with the survival games like Valheim and even perhaps 7 Days. Two Point Hospital would be a given on this system - just have to weigh up the game choices as it looks and sounds like the switch so far in terms of what i would use it for.

  24. @Spacedeck you reminded me of one of my all time favourite songs. I've picked the 1957 version here instead of 1927 as the sound quality is better but i do love the original.

  25. Yeah he is superb, a friend from work showed me him some years ago. He never seems to disappoint. The variety is great as well. Dude is a badass.

  27. They have quite a decent sound, a nice chuggy Riff. Guys voice is more melodic than I expected. Solo started getting good when the tremelo picking began. The bridge Riff is pretty tasty as well. πŸ‘

  28. Have now moved onto a book by Philip Ruff - A Towering Flame - essentially some Latvian and anarchist history that briefly connects to London and the famous Siege of Sidney Street.

  29. I think it's gonna be a case of some developers having to optimise their games specifically for this system. Ones with controller support immediately have an advantage but others may need improved display and scaling support. There may also be instances where some games are just not suitable to be played this way. The device may also come with a quick-zoom function or something too.
