Battlefield 2042 Season 1

Thanks for this Matt, I think we're only gonna see huge improvements come 2-3 years after patch updates. Such a shame as there's a lot of the functionality I prefer in this over BFV. I may give it an update and we all could find a night to try it again considering so many of us picked it up to stare at it.2 points -

Totally agree, the first film is amazing, he and Travolta play such great roles. Haha dunno how you can possibly get a sequel. Maybe a storyline around the son, hes probably about 35 now, man that makes me feel old 😔😂2 points -

I think that's the thing though. Many people back when it comes out give over the top reviews and talk like CoD has been a 3/10 game for years. 7.5 is a fantastic score for a CoD game, but I appreciate that the game is only NOW far better because it released with so little maps. Map rotation now is so good. We get to play so many different maps and it never feels like it gets old. This has always been the case, although some games bullshit can stop that too. This game doesn't. Thursday nights event on CoD saw 5-6 of us group up and dominate all night. The only time where it felt like we probably need to practice like we used to was for a few games of Search and Destroy. More so because we haven't played that in years (sad face). I'm not finding it a campfest atm. Maybe its just because of the years moved the sweaty players away, or that map rotation is good enough to force that not happening. I'll argue with you to the end of time that now Dead Silence not in the game as a perk has made it a better game because that invokes MORE camping. Honestly, I think you'd love grouping up again on this. The content I think was the main killer for people's views when it initially came out. I think the only spawn trapping I see now is on Shipment, which lets face it, is a clusterfuck abomination of a map that you are supposed to just have fun with rather than worry about spawns and K/D. It's the world we live in today - AAA games of the last 3-8 years are the strongest out there because of the constant updates they've had. Very few AAA games now get the content that you would expect in games 10 years old where we all got it from launch. Its a shame but maybe the positive is we are now seeing these games flourish, and for people that haven't bought them, they're only £15 pre-owned.1 point -

Welcome aboard BrettyBoy, you should make your own topic in the Introductions forum. That way you can tell us a bit about yourself, where your from and what games you play. Console player or PC etc. 😀1 point -
Welcome, dude. I’m new here tbh.1 point

Modern Warfare 2(022)

MW 2019 was mechanically and visually a really big step up but the map design was all over the place, the emphasis on doors was silly and there wasn't enough content. There was some really outlandish design decisions and even spawn-trapping made a return. It was a big step forwards and then a couple of strides back. I also hate how sliding is ingrained in every bloody FPS now - in Cold War you could literally slide up hill and there was no movement penalty plus users had infinite sprint. I really hope these casual elements don't worm their way in to MW2 and it becomes distressingly dumbed-down. Users running lightweight classes on the slide with stim is just nauseating to play against.1 point -
Battlefield 2042 Season 1

So I gave this a brief go last night with one of my usual battlefield mates and my points taken from it were - - New map wasn't actually too bad however much like all of them it's far too big (especially seeing as the focus seems to be back to 64 player game modes.... - My friend had issues with button prompts not appearing (he took a few screenshots to show us), I didn't notice if it was the same for me but if so and it got through QA that is incredibly poor. - I think this release really show's they will be putting the bare minimum into the game for the seasons durations and I imagine for sure the main bulk of the team has moved on. - Playing this then going to Battlefield V straight after just made BFV feel even better because the gulf between them is absurd. - I don't see a way back for this game at all and suspect I will have deleted it from my console this weekend.1 point -

I don't think MW19 was awful, but it only had about 6 maps for 6v6 traditional MP. They added Shoothouse and Shipment eventually that was a saving grace. Considering we got half of the available maps in the beta. And of those 6 maps, 2 were the Infamous Picadily and Azhir Caves. St Petrograd wasn't much of a looker either, the map design made it impossible to enjoy high end aerial streaks as well. Over time as you say more patches came and the game got a bit better. MW19 was different than all the Cods, eventho it did well and was well received to some extent. Lot's of people liked it, some on the fence and quite a few old school players hated it. It was the different mechanics and trying to close the skillgap and cater to newer players. That being said, playing with friends makes it ultimately a better experience. Even if it's a terrible match and we get whooped it's still banter. It's even more fun winning. The gunsmith was revolutionary, the game had good ideas. Sometimes the execution wasn't there on others. The game itself isn't a 10/10 or a 2/10. If I was rating it myself personally I would give it a 7.5.1 point
