Yeah was an interesting match, not stunning but I think the best team won. Certainly that foul on Ramsey should never have led to a Bengals win! Overall itβs been an amazing post season, super bowl itself was a bit of a defensive grind out, but now got to wait til bloody September again !! Although it might take that long to get used to being the Washington Commies. Thatβs going to back fire of Russia invades Ukraine3 points

Elden Ring
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
I think it's just the posted folded up sadly! Bit misleading but doesn't really matter too much. No steel case either it seems - just a card sleeve that goes over the standard box and the other extras. Not a bad package at all really. The collectors edition does have the steel case though but that's around the Β£200 mark. Art book looks great!2 points -
Elden Ring
Riff Machine and one other reacted to JungleHeart for a topic
Hahaha I have a feeling this will be the case. I realized Elden Ring isn't really my first "Souls" kind of game. I played and finished Fallen Order which the world wide web seem to think is a bit of a Souls game, and much earlier before, Lords of the Fallen (which I played as a PS Plus on my old PS4) but regardless, I don't think they're the full Souls experience. You're right, the challenge is hard enough on a linear game, more so that ER is open world (I've heard of this too). I'm so intimidated but at the same time, excited that I will be most likely cursing myself through the game and dying so many times haha. π I will let you guys know in this thread how things go, it's almost around the corner! Is that an art book or steelcase in front of the PS5 case? But damnnn for the same retail asking price, that's a lot of bonuses. I totally agree with getting physicals as much as possible. I never get digital editions of games I like to play and have. Tales of Arise wasn't available from where I am and I had to borrow a friend's courier service account just to get a physical copy from Amazon. Totally worth it. Glad they at least have Elden Ring here.2 points -

thank you for finding it awesome, as i like medieval stuff, i wanted something like a flag/emblem/heraldry for an avatar and so i browsed for some inspiration and i settled on this with the one side having the fg colours in a checkered pattern and the other my countrys flag colours in stripes, i threw a chevron and a T for the nickname i use and voila, anyway i will brainstorm a bit and maybe come up with something for carl and if i make anything remotely good i will post it here2 points -
Sifu
GazzaGarratt reacted to Riff Machine for a topic
I'm going to start this one like so.. This game is friggin hard! Seriously, do not be fooled by the first stage. Yes, it's difficult, but the jump in difficulty between this and stage 2 (The Club) slides up to insane levels. Sifu is an action/rougelite/super hard game by sloclap in which you play as a young lad out to avenge his Fathers death at the hand of a group led by... The Leader. You'll fight, a lot, through various stages and the key to success is literally perfect timing with dodge/parry and the avoid system. Avoid is used by holding the L1/Lb and flicking the RS just before an enemy makes contact. Sounds easy but the window for this and parrying is really small and you will be hit.. and die... a lot. I've heard som copare the combat to the Arkham series and I will tell you now, that is a HARD NO. This feels nothing like the arkham games. I feel it has more in line with sloclaps previous game absolver then anything. Death is handled in that when you start the game, your age is 20. Whenever you die, a death counter appears and your age increases by how large the death counter is. after your first death, you'll age to 21, and so on. You can reset your counter by beating special enemies in a level as well as bosses. An interesting system that's limited by how you unlock skills. You can use XP earned to gain skill in a run. But, in order to unlock it permanently, you have to keep spending XP, a lot of XP, to get the permanent unlock. For example, a skill costs 500 XP to gain. Once bought, you them have to spend another 2500 XP on that same skill to unlock it. IMO, this sucks. I've been playing this since launch and when everything clicks and you get into a combat flow, it's great. The graphics have an old water color look to them that i don't really find that impressive but considering the story being told, it fits. Audio is ok i suppose. You'll get a lot of ambient sounds coming through the dual sense controller, like flies buzzing around a pile of garbage or walking over broken glass, and the dialogue is ok too. I don't know what it is with Sony and some of their exclusives lately being so difficult. Demons Souls, Returnal and now Sifu. If I'm trying to entice gamers to my platform with a nice, new game, I'd at least put in a difficulty option to make this more accessible to everyone and not limit it to a small select group of gamers. Basically, if you're a fan of souls games, rouge, rougelites, or just brutal, unforgivingly difficult games, then this is for you. I'd recommend to anyone else interested to wait until sloclap implement a difficulty option before giving it a go.1 point -
Hi all, So. Who is Zaxzar? Well great question. Can start with the what. A year ago I was 36, and went by the name of Lars. Today I am 37 and goes by the name Sarah. Confused? Well let me clarify. I am a 37 year old transgender woman. Been out for a little over half a year. I go by she/her. I know this is something that can be instinctive challenging when communicating over voice chats, because I haven't started voice training yet. So I forgive you in advanced if/when you get this wrong. As long it isn't done on purpose, we are just A-OK. β€οΈππ Okay. to what really matters. Who am I (at least gaming wise), and how did I end up in your community? It started a very long time ago on a Commodore 64. A little later in life I got my older brothers Amiga 500. Here I played a game called "Sid Meyer's Pirates". This is where my gamer tag Zaxzar got born. So I have been using this tag at least 25+ years. I have played PC most of my life, but over the last 5+ or so years, I have moved to PlayStation. Of my all-time favorite games I can mention: Sid Meyer's Colonization Sid Meyer's Pirates Sonic I and II Curse of Monkey Island (the first 4 at least) Deux Ex (the original one. Wow what a story) Zelda World of Warcraft (the first few expansions. The panda expansion kind of killed it for me) Diablo 1+2+3 (I moved to PlayStation somewhere after Diablo 3 got released. I started on PC in that game, but moved to PlayStation. Fun fact: I was number 1 in the world in the hardcore ranking on my monk in 2 seasons) After I started to burn out on Diablo 3, PS Plus made the base game of Destiny 2 free when they released Forsaken. And I picked it up. And have been hooked ever since. In Destiny I have been quite enveloped and engaged in the community. I used to run PvE recovs alot (have done around 100 Petra's run recovs for example) But this started to burn me out quite a bit, and stepped back from all of that. The people you play with that does this as a business are very very toxic. If you make a mistake in a speedrun of a raid, with a fireteam if recovs, shit really hits the fan. Because time is money. I liked the aspect of challenges of speedrunning, no matter the account I was on. But if the toxicity is there, it just ain't for me. Been in a lot of the highly competitive clans, and also been admin in all of them. One of the latest clans I was in was Valhalla. First I stepped down as admin, because of an increasing frustration I had with some aspects of the leadership, and the workload. I then left them after a transphobic attack on me from an admin. I demanded an apology, and wasn't given one, and there was no consequences. For me inaction is the same as greenlighting it, so I chose to move on. This wasn't the only reason I left tho, but it did make it easy for me. The general tone of the forums, had become more and more juvenile over time. And with this, toxic. I joined an old clan of mine, where alot of my friends where still in after, but left them because they where too PvP focused for my taste. And now I am here. β€οΈ Why did I join you? Well I joined because I heard of you through teenwolf, after he also left Valhalla. He spoke highly of you, and have had the pleasure of playing with some of you through his friendship over the years too. I thought that if the rest of you are just half as enjoyable to play with as them, this is gonna be a good home for me. What do I focus on today? I am still mainly focused on raids and PvE content. Not as much as I used to do. Lost a lot of my passion for raiding after they sunset more than half the raids in the game. Will look forward to get to learn more about you all. Now what questions do you have? Xo Sarah1 point

Not sure what you think but part of my theory in their strategy maybe is that with Single Player games they're creating, I feel like the difficulty levels are there to just extend the life of the game. So many people gorge games these days, therefore the harder the game is the longer the game stays out there. Just a random thought I had. I'm not sure its in my ability or skill level this type of game but I do want to see more of it. If you grab a decent part of game action @Riff Machine , see if you can upload it or maybe let us know who has a decent gameplay reel worth watching.1 point -
Yeah I agree I guess the iffy holding call on the winning drive cancelled out that face mask on Ramsey. Rams have to be thankful for the d-line once they started 5 upfront that seemed to shut the Bengals down. Odd that they must have known the team had given up the most sacks. Overall yeah, though close the best team won, well the best d-line and Cooper Kupp.1 point

Hello, Sarah! Welcome aboard! I enjoyed reading your gaming experiences. That's awesome, you've been pretty much around! Retired D2 player here. I'm thinking of getting back to the Witch Queen hehe. I'm a bit of a newbie here myself and I have to say you absolutely won't regret joining. Love the gaming discussions and fine folks here. I can express Xbox and PS opinions without getting hated on haha. In any case, enjoy your stay! If I do get back to playing D2 I will post in the respective thread and maybe we can do some activity. π1 point -
Sony Buys Bungie
GazzaGarratt reacted to JungleHeart for a topic
I totally agree. Nothing can be said about Sony having a good track record when it comes to nurturing studios. They have many strengths and this is one of them. One studio they have under their belt was Bluepoint who mainly made remakes back in the PS3 days. They're the type you'd think would get thrown off by other bigger companies but they're still doing well, thanks to Sony. Veering off the topic a little, I really wish the rumors about backward compatibility support for the PS5 comes true soon. As much as I love the Series X and 360, the truth is Microsoft has nothing on the established history of the PS1 and 2. I know I can probably take out my old PS2 and play there but nothing beats the convenience and charm of being able to play those games on a current gen and not need a CRT TV to appreciate the graphics. π€£1 point -

I recommend that people don't buy the digital edition and opt for a physical one instead - for Β£50, you get a nice package which is rare these days. Usually you'll get a disc and that's it. This package is available at Amazon, Argos, Game, Curry's etc...1 point -

Get ready to enjoy hitting your head against a brickwall! π Bloodborne was created in the same way and that was rough at times for me, especially as I missed the Dark Souls games too. I think if you can stick at it and find a pattern to play it then you'll get some fun out of it for sure. My only concern is that I used to get lost on a reasonably linear Bloodborne, so an open world Elden Ring might be all over the place to start with π1 point -
Sony Buys Bungie
JungleHeart reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
Thats basically it. Whether they did it because they knew Activision/Blizzard was being bought is kind of irrelevant right now. More backing in terms of financial and reputational support will always mean good things. All you can do is base it on experience for now because stuff won't change overnight. Like La @RenFengge said, Sony DO have a good track record of letting studios do their own thing and release incredible video games.1 point -

Sony isn't EA, so I'm not exactly "worried." Then again, while I play D2, it's not a game I cherish... nor do I think there's anything really to ruin by this acquisition. We all know the general grind for D2. And, the story is like background noise if you haven't played since D1. D2 is straight loot shooter. Any RPG elements that made it unique and interesting was left in the D1 era. I would be more "concerned" if Microsoft bought D2... Sony actually lets its developers go do their own things (in general) and not dictate nonsense (RPG developer - yeah, you don't do that anymore. You do loot shooter).1 point -
Traditional COD MP is dead.
jmrandle reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
This has been on the cards for a long time sadly. By having a new COD every year, it's saturated the traditional deathmatch-type games and these just don't make the money Activision desire even with massive unit sales. The series has failed pathetically as an eSport but Warzone is raking in the money - literally well over $1bn a quarter on just cosmetic shite alone. Insane money really. COD mobile can also generate way more than its console version counterparts even being FREE which just shows what the gaming landscape has become from a business standpoint. Why bother selling 25m copies of a game when you can sell coloured guns and make even more money without spending a penny in the process? For me, COD has been dead since Black Ops 2 anyway so it's no big loss. I don't like the brand anymore and its filled with cancerous business practices and dickhead community members. It's barely recognisable to what it used to be. Things have actually gotten worse since supply drops which is crazy to think about. Warzone is laden with cheaters - some even notable streamers/content creators and Activision hasn't bothered about eradicating that problem until this week and even then it was a lame effort. Post launch support for these games now is shockingly bad especially with no season passes. Even zombies players have been well and truly fucked over. Even Treyarch don't give a fuck about the community now. Call of Duty is well and truly dead in its traditional sense. They'll milk the battle royale until 2025 and then I'm sure that will become unbearably saturated and something else will come to fruition. What's killed MP for me is SBMM along with fabricated factors impacting gameplay - it doesn't feel like a fair and genuine game. Old COD's had connection-based matchmaking and then lobby balancing and everything felt good. Now you can't trust anything and the sweaty mechanics just further kill the fun. There's just so many elements that have killed it for me and many veterans of the franchise. DICE have a big opportunity with Battlefield 6 so they'd better not fuck it up.1 point
