  1. As a NYCer, I can't bring myself to watch anything about 9/11. I'm sure the documentaries and movies about it are worthwhile, and good for the sake of history keeping. But, everything about that day and the days and weeks after are something I don't want to watch or relive. I work now just 2 blocks from the WTC memorial, a place I never thought I would work. Last week in the city, as I got off the subway and walked to the office, it was somber with all the ribbons and whatever. I'm glad others are able to tell their stories about it to help heal... To watch these films to heal and know more about it. I just don't think I'll ever get there. Especially as other terrible things in the world continue to happen.

    How does this work then?

D2 currently is in such a good place compared to D2 on launch, I'd probably pay Bungie not to make a new game !

    9/11 one day in America.

It’s crazy how mostly everyone remembers exactly what they were doing at that moment in time like a freeze frame.

  5. I remember being in 6th grade Spanish class (I am also a New Yorker) and my girlfriend's father at the time was an instructor at the Rock (FDNY academy) as well as a handful of my friends parents being EMS or NYPD. It's a wild time for sure that I won't forget, just the general everyone is confused and then you're locked in your classroom watching a TV the entire day.

  6. While for some games, DayZ for example, the server hosting allows you to alter day and night cycle in the configuration, I think it isn't possible in Valheim due to the sleep mechanic. Hopefully the game itself will in future allow that, but not possible right now.

  7. So, daytime runs approximately 20 minutes, with night time running around 9 minutes, I think. There are mods to extend the time. However, I think I have a general fear of breaking shit and unable to unbreak shit. But, I will look into it. If it is an easy mod to install and remove if necessary, then most likely I'll add it. I would love the days in general to not go by so quickly!

    Gun room finished

Yet another "happy place in Steve-topia" pretty much finished the gun room is about done. Only ones not on the new wall I built are a new tactical 12g which I'll be picking up from my FFL Mon/Tues & the home defense one which stays next to the bed. Everything is not only nicer looking in the new area, but nice and secure behind steel dead bolted doors, blocked off window, and also have a bunch of trigger locks on the way so that the only gun usable without being unlocked will be the home defense 12g I keep with me. I dunno if I'm an introvert whom hardly leaves home because Steve-topia is such a cool place....or if Steve-topia is such a cool place because I'm an introvert whom hardly leaves home. I dunno, chicken or egg I guess. Introverts unite!....alone, in your own home, away from me 😁

  9. Yeah I'd just got up and switched on the TV, took me sometime to realise that it was actually happening and not a movie. My parents were in Vegas at the time and were supposed to fly to San Francisco.

  10. It's an FPS and many other things, including RPG. Like I mentioned, modders have created multiple game modes beyond the base game. The Arma Life mod, for example, you can choose a career and level up your skills and licenses, join factions etc. You can be a miner, a farmer, police, ambulance crew, drug dealer and more. I realise how much I miss playing now I'm talking about it so much.

  11. Defo agree to that! They'll always be better ways and whilst I get frustrated with ppl thinking I'm super pro-Destiny, i'm still objective to the point where even I know that the DLC in December I think it slightly higher priced and would've been a nice gesture to find a way of giving it us for free. Isn't Arma 3 an FPS not an RPG? Either way, it doesn't matter because I think we have different values in our minds so the hope is we just get a good ride out of the next few installments of D2. It is refreshing to see though of late the amount of FGers outside of me saying its in a great shape, even the ones who don't own any DLCs or Seasons.

  12. Take a game like Arma 3. It's been going since 2013. It has had constant updates and various dlc over the years but never more than £20. I've got them all and in total it probably cost less than £50... in 8 years. More importantly they opened the game to the modding community who went on to create amazing game modes which you can access for free. Arma Life, King of the Hill, DayZ etc etc....and it's still one of the most popular games on Steam. That's just one example from many but I suppose it's different on console, and the big boy AAA companies don't like modding....so it is what it is. As I said before, it's entirely subjective how folk feel about it and I'm not complaining about Density, I've bought the dlc myself..but let's not pretend there aren't other better ways of doing things.

  13. Its a fair thing to say, even if I agree to disagree with that statement. I think its for a separate thread entirely which we had ages ago about what you feel is good value for money as we all have different scales and ideas on that. For me, the gaming world has evolved, especially with covid as well and game development being scarily long in a world where no one can wait for 7 years, these days so many more games are being released in 'alpha' or updated over time. Price wise its one of the cheapest arguably. Its around £3 quid a month for regular weekly updates of content (free and some part of Seasons) with separate money for DLCs, which are far less than new game prices (upto £70 on PS5 now) which can be a huge gamble for people these days. Whereas, you can at least still play this game around with the free base elements and the stuff you have already unlocked/paid for. It hits that middle spot between not being a subscription based huge MMO game and not being a 'once and done' game which could be good but played for a month and thats it e.g. Outriders.

  14. This, they basically have to have revenue to keep developing the game, rather than just let it stagnate. Even porting VoG in from D1 takes a load of development, and its been a fun addition. for me Bungie are doing a great job at keeping a 7 year old game fresh and engaging, might not be everyones cup of tea, and this 6 month season will be a challenge to keep fresh, but its top value for money game for me

  16. @Baabcat - @TurboR56Mini will be back on Friday night and should be good for the weekend. I have a standing 8:15am ET appointment on Saturdays and am taking a weightlifting break, so I'm home by 9am ET on Saturdays. my Sundays are also now open for our usual raid time lol.

  17. I haven’t done the raid but I’d be up for whatever if I’m on. I seen that you can melt the last boss in one faze now if your dps is good. I can try to post if you haven’t seen it.

  18. Ok I guess I’ll set something up for weekend full runs, and boss cp grinding mid week, probably wait til @TurboR56Mini is back for that

  19. Ha Im playing Warzone with some work pals, but I am waiting for BF to come out so I can stop playing WZ and join everyone again. I will see about a new GPU but was thinking that id then need to perhaps also get a new PSU to match the power draw? pretty sure Phil mentioned this before Also, is more RAM in the mean time going to help with video editing ? Its not super slow, but its a drag waiting 3 seconds each time I fastforward a video clip and it lags.

    9/11 one day in America.

Yeah I watched that, really moving, still seems like yesterday not 20 years, and as you say the response of so many Americans helping their fellow citizens was amazing. I’ve always been awe struck by the bravery of the firemen climbing those towers. Lights shining on that darkest day. Also watched the documentary that followed Bush on that day. Don’t want to get into politics but he almost seemed statesman like when you compare to what goes on now.

  21. Diddums has it right, your CPU is still good. Just make sure DOCP (AMD’s XMP) is enabled for your ram as ram speed helps a lot with ryzen chips. Add a better GPU and you should be good for a while. in the future, depending on your mobo, you can add a later gen ryzen cpu but I wouldn’t do that now as it’s unnecessary.

  22. You drunk? That's still a very decent PC. GPU is a bit weak but the rest is fine. Adam get a new GPU if you can get your hands on one, and stretch the CPU out for another year or two.
