  1. Sells more though with the RE tag @phil bottle 😎 RE4 looked fantastic and I used to watch my mate nail that game, it was so refreshingly different. But it was still third person, just from a different view. I saw the following tweet from a game director I follow and it hit one of the critical points for me: The whole aesthetic of seeing your character in RE games, made it iconic and unique to their franchise. Always good to try to do things differently. RE4 and RE7 did that. One did brilliantly, the other was Marmite. Ithink they stuck with FPS because of pure re-use of game assets in a world where people want games coming out quicker than the 6/7 years it takes to build one from scratch. Don't blame them but this is why it won't sell mega bucks. People should give the RE Revelations game a go. It has co-op ability which makes the game very unique. Not the greatest controls but then what RE game does! Thats where I thought they could push this franchise a little more down that road.

  5. @LordBaguette so here's what i've found so far. Others can recommend anything else and also say if these are half decent: 27 inch BenQ. 1ms response time and 144hz. £249.99. Tons of reviews that this is exteremely solid and good value for money BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710 27 Inch HDRi IPS Gaming Monitor, 144 Hz 1ms FreeSync Premium FHD, PS5/Xbox X Compatible: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Shop for BenQ PC products at the Amazon.co.uk Computers & Accessories store. 31.5 inch ASUS. 1ms response time and 165hz. £399. Lots of reviews and a bigger monitor, probably the biggest i'd ever go for a monitor. It is curved though so that might put you off if you still care about that. ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved Gaming Monitor 31.5 inch WQHD (2560x1440), 165Hz(Above 144Hz), Extreme Low Motion Blur, Adaptive-sync, FreeSync Premium, 1ms (MPRT), HDR10, Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Buy 24.5 inch ASUS. 0.5ms response time and 165hz. £249.97. Same price as the 27 BenQ however significant improvements and 24/25 inch is a good size if you are eventually looking for dual monitors in the future within your set up (trust me, if you're going PC and staying with consoles, you'll want two monitors). ASUS VG258QR 25 Inch (24.5 Inch) FHD (1920 x 1080) Esports Gaming Monitor, 0.5 ms, Up to 165 Hz, DP, HDMI, DVI-D, Super Narrow Bezel, FreeSync, Low Blue Light, Flicker Free ,Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Buy There are a few more cheaper 24 inch ones nearer the £200-£240 mark that will honestly do you fine if you're looking to save money as thats just under half your budget.

  6. I quite like them lol! You guys are rather spoilt for choice in the US but these are the ones I could get my hands on over here.

  7. I agree, many games would be enhanced with the ability to switch between views. In DayZ and the Arma games it's been a feature for a decade.

  8. Super helpful. Been thinking about adjustable dumb bells.. I just wish they weren't so hideous in general.

  9. Fantastic bit of kit, absolutely love the quality that it gives. Plus the battery life and comfort is just amazing. I use these for anywhere up to 12 hours a day for work and then in the evening for gaming. My ears don't sting at all after this period of use and the battery is only about 1/2 used. Couldnt live without them now, would totally reccomend

  10. I reinstalled RE7 on Steam last night. I played it very little on PC so it'll be like playing a brand new game. I agree @GazzaGarrattits the 3rd person view that makes RE a distinctive experience but I'm a sucker for first person as it always makes me feel like I'm in the game rather than controlling a character, if that makes sense🙃

  11. If I was trying to save money I would go 1080p with fast refresh rate. You've got a 4K tv, so you can always plug into that when you want a 4k experience.

  12. I didn't hear about that tbh. Also, how much does HDR really make a difference. I'd love to see how much the latest TVs and Monitors are different to the current 4k 144hz. I think he needs one sharpish @J4MES OX4D cos he aint gonna cope with one TV in the house for much longer!

  13. I would wait a few months because a few new monitors are hitting the market this year which are designed for 4K 144hz gaming which would get the best out of the PS5 for an entire generation. Asus have a new TUF range coming out with these specs including a 28 inch IPS panel, 1ms and HDR one. The VG28UQL1A should be out around June and is supposedly affordable. If you buy anything now you'll end up with a 2K one that will leave your experience dated for the next 7 years or a 4K screen that will hold you back in terms of the potential performance. On both counts you will probably end up buying a new one 3 years. If you get a new PC down the line then you'll be coming right into this level of the market. The monitor market is really jam packed right now with so much choice but they are all largely for 1080p and 2K gaming from the last gen. If you've got a decent amount to burn and are buying into the PS5 and a new PC then it's best to invest in something appropriate that will last many years.

  14. Apologies for the slight absence last week, Deload is boring so no point documenting. Today we did the 1st of three sessions for some testing. Deadlift. I hit 220kg so easily, it flew up. I went for 230kg for a raw lifetime PR (no deadlift suit) and it moved fast but for some reason I let my brain beat me because it started to slow at my knees and I dropped it. I’m gutted. We will continue to build. IMG_0903.MP4 IMG_0904.MP4

  15. Any reason you said no to a curved one @LordBaguette ? I thought i'd never buy a curved one but a good deal turned up on a 24" MSI one and now having two of them in front of me, I can't see any disadvantage to them. If its for longevity for wheh you get a PC, you should think about size as you might want to have 2 monitors over time. The 24" ones I have I think are around £220-250 so I can find them if needed. 1ms response, 144HZ, etc, so all top end settings.

  16. Any graphics card will plug in to any motherboard provided the physical space is there. They all run on PCI-E protocols so they're all the same. Your PSU is likely to be strong enough too, but for the sake of ruling it out, post up what case you have any PSU and we can tell you. That's if you can get your hands on one, the 3000 series cards are fucking impossible to get hold of atm.

  17. 1/25/2021 Workout 12 minute AMRAP Ladder by 2 from 2 rep to 10 reps: 20lb dumbbell pair hang power clean 20lb dumbbell pair side lunges Thoughts: I ate a lot yesterday... at least it was mostly protein and low carb. But, I was just insatiably hungry. I need to make weight by Monday, February 1 morning, so no excuses this week. And, I'm a bit terrified to go on the scale after my 2 slices of pizza on Saturday and massive protein intake through the weekend. Here's hoping I didn't screw up my deficits too much. So, I went to today's workout. I genuinely hate doing lifts with dumbbells. I prefer doing them with barbells. Doing any weightlifting move with dumbbells is just awkward for me. I never can set up properly. It's too light for me to do the movement correctly.. even if I go heavier. Also, a little rough on the sleep since I was not sure I would wake up for the workout today. My Fitbit broke, and I can't seem to get husband's Fitbit to sync to my app even after factory reset. I need to fiddle with it more today. I do not want to buy a new one just yet.

  18. I dunno, the game has undergone a few different changes since RE1. Personally, RE4, which I played on the GameCube lol, was my favourite. I liked the trader and the new point of view. Hated 5 and 6. RE7 was good for the atmosphere but I didn't like the combat like James says, so I hope that's better. The lore seems closer to 4 as well, maybe they should give this spin into fantasy horror a different name for the game. Just call it The Village and drop the resident evil moniker.

  19. 1/23/2021 Workout Squat Workshop - Session 1 Finding 1 rep max for back squat Thoughts: So, I was chatting with one of the people at my gym about weights and barbells. I said, "I swear, the barbell feels so much heavier when I'm home." She laughed and said, "Oh my god! I thought it was just me! It feels like twice the weight at home!" I came into today's session thinking, "My one rep is 185lbs... as per my lift on Monday." Color me surprised when I got pushed to 225lbs. The coach kept adding weights. So, we kept going. I failed at 235lbs, but it might have been I was tired by then. Not sure. 225lbs is still a much better number than 185lbs. Not bad for a former PR of 260lbs. However, I told him that the difficulty is going to come in the rest of the program... because I'm in "cutting" mode for weightlifting. I'm in "stop being fat" mode for my goals. It's a tricky balance. Lose the weight, but keep the strength/increase strength. I can get to 260lbs again at my "DietBet" end goal. That's where I was before. But, can I keep the 260lbs or get stronger if I drop an additional 20lbs of body weight? We'll see. P.S. "broke" food guidelines by having some pizza today. But, that's the thing. It has to be a balance. 1 cheat meal per week won't kill anyone's goals. Except when you're trying to make weight in 8 days lol. Gonna have to hit it hard this week to make sure I make weight (only .6lb to go)

    Some Changes...

Cheers all. I know most aren't into feedback and all that jazz but I really do appreciate it. Anything constructive too. We can't make our FG better if we don't know how everyone feels. Its a radical change but we've needed some of it for a while. It also means alot of space for scope because some things are technically 'unfinished' in my eyes so room for all your ideas and - hopefully - some type of support that you all feel like you can get involved in and do yourselves to make this place even better. In short: Brand New Homepage - better ways to not lose sight of the fact our place here is way more than just a forum now New Game Hubs Page New Patch Updates function - to be introduced for games of our choice Opens up more multiple pages of stuff to be added - which could be literally anything Merch updated with a few things we've previously ordered and know it works Brand new Polls page - wrapping up every poll across the entire site in one place Articles to be used as a place to better show off our FG game night stories - and everything else blog like and clearly loads more potential extra work went into to make the views work for desktop, tablet and mobile views Just keep talking up and sound off. Its been a great start to 2021 for FG with all the things going on so far; obviously i'm a little busy atm with 5 more little crazy ones to look after for a while but i'm doing what i can to make this year a fucking great one. Heres hoping theres some inspiration in there that you too want to jump on the bandwagon 🤠 (no horse and cart emoji, so you get a cowboy smile instead)
