Hi there Sean, nice to see a new face here! Really good intro as others have said, you're hitting definitely hitting my sweet spot with retro games as I collect and love playing all my old games when I can around grouping up on PS4 and PC with the people here. Can't beat playing the Mega Drive with Wiz n Liz for a bit and then switch to Mario Kart on the SNES. You own many old consoles then? We did have a retro section but I collapsed it as it felt like it didn't have enough traction. You're tickling me to get it back though as its a personal preference of mine. Well now the tyre issue has been sorted out the times have come tumbling. It was fun hoping in to an online lobby and seeing how the times came down and trying the different cars. Sticking to my McLaren I managed to set a 2:04.153 which I've got close to a few times again but I'm not confident I'll be able to better that time. Trying the Lambo Huracan out as Lee said it was slower Only did 10 laps in it and set a 2:06. something. I set faster sector 1's after that lap but made mistakes later on. I certainly think the lambo is capable of 2:05's. Now to give away all my secrets

In my excitement last week I missed the status report. Vehicles and base building. Holy shit. The status report is well worth a look: https://steamcommunity.com/games/221100/announcements/detail/1681422329209859905 But this is what I missed: the next patch arriving to the Stress Test branch will be considered an Experimental BETA and will contain new content and features, including vehicles and base building. We will offer a detailed list of the BETA package later on. The list for both features and content is not exactly short, so we'll need to make make sure everything works.

Two more maps showcased. Glad Summit is like the original again as also remastered in BO3 DLC rather than a horrible re-imagining like we saw in BO2. Morocco looks a bit cartoony though.

I run a Raspberry Pi with Retropie and downloads ROMS of games I thought were the shit. Sometimes they are still great, sometimes not so much. I Have a gaming PC that gets less love than the console partly due to the lower number of FG PC gamers. Ps4 usually has most people online.

I am concerned about Anthem because it looks very generic, linear and incredibly underwhelming. It's a live service game made by declining developers with ideas poached from other games that doesn't offer anything unique or original. The developers are failing to convince with the concept and long term strategy and they seem to be looking for outs so they can go back to work on Dragon Age and Mass Effect. A Destiny format with Titanfall aesthetics and The Surge mechanics is a mortifying combination. Add a live service foundation into the mix plus BioWare's current reputation along with EA as publisher and it has all the hallmarks of DOA.

Its a small family owned business at his house (portakabin in the garden as an office) so could understand if it was a little informal and relaxed but just put the dogs in another room ffs they were little scatty things running about Anyway, gave feedback to apprenticeship provider and they're investigating further with their manager about whether they're going to work with that company in the further, he also had to Google the wages for apprentices with regards to my age etc which was unprofessional as well. He had my CV prior to the interview

Nice to finally get back on this. It's sure addictive as hell to just do 'one more lap'. I managed a 2:12 something for my first night which I've got be happy with. I may go back to the Lambo Huracan as moving to the McLaren that Greeboth used, whilst it's quicker it really is hard to control. Oversteer is a bitch in that! I really need to go sub 2.10 more regularly otherwise I'll just feel like I can't make any inroads into those top times you guys already have.

Didn't get the Web designer now either, guy was a bit of a deluded idiot tbh. Had the 'interview' in his dining room with dogs running around barking, jumping up etc. Said he was expecting a portfolio of websites I had designed (if I could do that, I'd have my own business or be going for a full time role, not an apprenticeship to LEARN). Anyway, still waiting to hear back from the other 2 roles who've been sent my CV by the apprenticeship provider so fingers crossed. Bit disheartening though

Gambit is still a great mode. I think they should consider tweaking the player's reveal time. 2 hunter w/ blade barrage and a titan with melting point pretty much mean an instant kill on the primeval. So the entire process is fun.

I find Gambit has a lot of ‘awww fuck’ moments. Can be quite frustrating at times

I'm feeling Anthem could be further confirmation that EA and Bioware have forgotten what makes games great, and instead favour cheap generic multiplayer shooters that boast about their awesome graphics while lacking any real depth. I have an open mind of course and I'm hoping to find out I'm wrong about it being boring but then again.. ...I played ME: Andromeda 🙄

Yup, that is the correct class of car and the correct track. I can only think it is down to tyres, I just set my lap times on whatever the default are. Which from memory I think were sports hard. I never thought to change the tyres though as it is an allowed set up change even with BoP then we should all be using the softest racing tyre available. I guess my ‘fast’ time isn’t so fast anymore and I need to redo my times. @phil bottle @GazzaGarratt @techno Tagged you all to make sure you’re aware to make sure you change your tyres before setting your times. Apologies for missing this in the first place.

There are some tricky corners, I struggle with T1 and most of sector 1 really. I think I drive it the same but some sector 1’s I’m down a few tenths but the next lap up a few tenths. I’m also struggling with the braking for the hairpin and not running wide at 130r. I think I can get my time down a little more, maybe half a second at a push, before I’ll think about posting an updated time.

I work at a company that produce equipment used by the utilities sector. I'm responsible for the development of the desktop software that's used to monitor and archive records of the work done by the equipment, so a lot of it is looking at what features in the software I can implement to make the end-users life easier. Just recently added on a module that uses a database to store the information (rather than file based as the rest of the program). Significantly quicker and easier to fetch the info, and will allow for the user to have custom filters (queuries). Main languages used are C# (WPF) and SQL (SQLite databases). Also work with Python for some other bits and bobs (small internal scripts and programs). Considering I only started using the above languages just over a year and a half ago, I'm surprised just how well and fast I took to them. Previous experience was with C/C++, but with the UI stuff in C# WPF, and the industry standard of 'seperating' the background logic from the foreground UI, it was quite a bit different. Vastly more exciting as a day-to-day job than my previous which was literally copy and pasting code for 5 years....

I've only managed about 8 or 9 laps today and I'm down to 2:24. Three specific corners to master and we'll see about that. I'm loving this challenge mate and really glad you set it up. Mina is lapping around 2:40 but she's not had much time on it yet. She's pretty good at these types of games and if she can overcome her frustration (that's a fucking big 'if' lol) she'll give us all a run for our money. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Hopefully you can find the space, the more people taking part the better the competition. This is going to be interest to find out who has the bragging rights between you two I tried the McLaren out earlier to see how I get on with it. I’m not really any faster with it so far but I find it easier to be more consistent. So I think it is the one to stick with to really start perfecting my lap.
