I am placing villagers, in locked/ fenced areas Please don't kill them. They will trade with you When you click on them, one of the options is Trade, if you choose it, the villager will ask for something. Example this one wants 21 wheat, and she will give you emeralds. I am going to build shops around all of them NOTE: This also means I will be putting fences and gates at the spawn entrances to keep out monsters, as well as guards and a few golems once I get it all sorted out.

I made this guy, and one other to protect the villagers at the spawn. He got out... I don't know how, as he wasn't hurt, but if you see him, he will kill mobs for you. No need to attack him He might try to give you a flower

I've taken down the torches and sealed off the tunnel so it doesn't reach the spawn. It's as if i was never there.

Every once in a while I will get a request for a "themed" rod. This customer had been planning this build with for a a very long time now and today I finally finished it and have hos dream rod ready for him. It is a Star Wars themed rod with quite a bit of attention to detail and the futuristic look to it to say the least. From the thread wraps on the carbon fiber grip sealed under three coats of clear to the epoxy thread ramp to give a seamless transition from grip to blank, to the green marbling under the custom decals to the custom made rod sock no part of this build was overlooked on details.

I believe we'll be able to do 1 home and 3 other warps, so 4 in total.

I did the maintenance real fast. It's an outdoor bed and workbench at the moment! What I have seen others do is put a main station at spawn, and then do main lines to other stations, and then branch lines to spots near homes It was sort of what I had in mind for the main road as well. I build the main 4 roads, and then you all connect to them however you want

I fucking love doing rail systems. I had a fully automated station where you could pick your destination with levers. It also played music.

Yep, Tommy has it. I am still trying to sort out permissions, so I might increase the number of "homes" people can set. Or.... after a while we could all work on a nice underground rail system.

Dylan did that once. I reset the chunks for his build to be a volcano. all his gear was still there, and you could sort of see it all. It was fun You can leave the tunnel. Just move it back a little bit, thats where I was going to put the next road. I will mark out for you, but only move it like 5 squares and you will be fine

I think that's where their thoughts are, they want competitive to be exactly that. They're expecting people to no start a game if you think you can't finish it, which is fine in my view. Why would you start a competitive game if you knew you couldn't finish it. I know there are times where you can't help it but the algorithm will show that, or at least i hope it will. They just want people to take it seriously and not mess about, as that's what quick play is for. I get where they're coming from.

Ahh that was me, i didn't realise i came out right at spawn and just put some torches down so i could see, then had to log off straight away. I'll take it down and put the blocks back, apologies! Edit: I wasn't planning on building there, it's just the end of a tunnel.

If anyone wants to claim a house, stick a sign on it (top 2 rows planks, stick bottom middle), you can then label the house.

Dave, I'm finding the best thing to do is explore. Explore, explore, explore. The map is HUGE so for me personally look at just taking it all in and go much further out than the spawn. My house is around 1km away SW of spawn. By exploring you will most probably come across an abondoned house that you may want to make your own. If you're worried its someone elses I've asked everyone to share house co-ordinates so you know whos is whos and you can put waypoints down so you know if you're too close to someone elses area. There is a massive area South of spawn if you want to start there? Refer back to Bart's map in the other thread if you're trying to work out how far you've gone.

Ok so I logged in for the first time this morning, only a brief 30 minute look see and .....wow! I thought I was stuck on a loading screen with space stars rushing by then I realised I had spawned in looking at the sky and it was raining!! Anybody got tips for where to build? Thought I'd lucked in when I found a half finished house but it had a bed so I left it. How far from each other should we build?

Phil is 100% correct here. Iron Pickaxes can mine anything except for obsidian. Diamond can mine anything So what I do in game before I have a full stack of diamonds to work with. Take a stack of wood planks or logs with you wherever you go Take 1 Stone Pickaxe Take 1 Iron Pickaxe When mining stone, use the stone pickaxe, when mining any ore, swap to the iron. When the stone pickaxe breaks, make a new one with some of the stone you mined, and the wood you brought with you. This way you don't have to stop until you have enough stone or minerals for your needs, or your pack is full.
