I miss most those guys. Hell, I even miss Auptyk at times We were all dicks to each other at one point or another, but ~Stands up on Soap Box~ We were a group of guys, nay, a Band, working towards the common goal of having fun, shooting bitches in the face and jaw jacking ideas. We grew together, like a family. No! We became tighter than a family, we became a Band of Brothers!4 points -

I'll spend Monday like I have for the past 9 years. I'll wake up and go to the same parade I have been going to since I was a little kid. At some point during the parade my wife will ask when I'm going to walk or ride in it, and I'll dance around an answer by telling her "maybe someday." At some point during the parade I'll wander off and find a place where I can be alone and I'll end up breaking down in tears as I think about my friends who didn't come back from Iraq, and their families and their kids who have to endure this day with out their husbands and fathers. I'll eventually make my way back to the parade and watch my daughter grab candy that is thrown from the floats, pretending to have a good time. After the parade I'll get home and start setting up for a picnic that I always have at my house. The day will go on as usual, and as usual I'll drink myself into oblivion, call 3 or 4 of my buddies that I still keep in touch with from the Marine Corps and see how their day is going - usually the same as mine - Hating life and pissed off at all the people who look at this day as just another day off from work and a reason to get drunk with their friends. At some point later on in the night I'll black out and pass out - hopefully in my bed. And if it's a really special day, like the one 6 years ago, I'll wake up around 2:30am, take off my clothes, grab my car keyes and tell my wife I'm going to play golf and I'll be back in a few hours. My trip to the local bike shop was a successful one! I was able to get the clips and filters which are both still available OEM! Looks like I'll be able to replace what I need if I find any more things that need replacing. That sounds amazing! A gentleman I work with was telling me his son was doing something similar to that. Starting in Italy. I'd imagine it was an amazing experience for you! And beautiful bike. I really like the body and component colors. Yes sir, thank you! Safety is a huge concern of mine. Thank you, I have every intention of buying new tires. By eventually I meant after we get it apart, cleaned and running. The tires are 38 years old! I agree new tires are an absolute must. Plan is to take the rear fender apart, front and rear tires off to clean and inspect parts and things tucked up in the frame next. When the rims are off I'll get some new rubbers. I've been looking at helmets and I want a full face. A matte black Schuberth S2 to be exact. I like to keep my skull in it's current configuration. Top speed of the bike is supposed to be 65 MPH. With my big ass on it I might stay off the highway for fear of being pulled over for going too slow Please PM me images and make/model/mileage info! I plan on taking a very similar class. It's 2 days and will grant me my license when complete. I've asked people and they've all said positive things about it and that it's a must. I'm excited to take it. I do appreciate the guidance. It makes me wonder about all the bozos riding around with illegal skull caps they've put vinyl DOT stickers on, so they appear legal, riding around with no ear protection? I have a quick and extremely embarrassing bike story. Bought a brand new kawasaki ninja when I was 20 I think, got it home in truck. Got it out of truck. Started it up. All good. Dropped the clutch, did a unintentional wheely and dumbed that mother fucker right on the driveway. While my future father in law watched, I might add. Not one of my finer moments. Sold it back to the dealer the next day and proceed to pay the balance off for the next 3 years....2 points -

It's been that time of year for bikers to break out their bad attitudes and hit the road. I'm days away from getting my mom’s 1976 Suzuki GT185 Adventurer up and running again! I’m very excited to say the least. I've never driven a bike and don’t have my license (don't laugh ) but first things first, I need a bike, so I took it up to my in-laws on Saturday and spent a good chunk of the weekend with my girls dad taking it apart, cleaning, polishing and assessing what parts I need. It's lived in a shed forever; it's last inspection was in 1985 (me having it earlier was never an option, it took my grandparents passing away for my mom to let me take it because she has nowhere to put it!) so it ends up I only need a battery, spark plugs, two stroke reservoir oil cap, air filters, side panel clips and tires eventually. I'm going after work to try and order the filters and clips. The bike is 100% original! And yes I had it in my living room This should be a developing thread so please share your bikes and stories!1 point -

Friday the 13th: Slasher Horror Classic in Development as Hour-long TV Drama Jason Voorhees is packing up his machete and heading to television. An hour-long drama based on the iconic horror franchise Friday the 13th is currently in development, our sister site Deadline reports. Though the new series will be set in present-day Crystal Lake — the setting of the original 1980 film — Bill Basso (Terminator) and Jordu Schell (Avatar) are crafting a storyline that will show Jason in several different time periods. “Expect the show to take viewers in some exciting new directions that we’re confident will not only excite existing fans of Friday the 13th, but also attract new audiences to the situations and characters that inhabit the small town of Crystal Lake,” says Horror Inc. president Robert Barsamian, who will also produce. The series, which is not yet attached to a network, will be produced by Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment. Sean S. Cunningham, who produced the original film, will executive-produce. Sure, I'll bite. lol1 point

I thought City's fine in the end was with £34m suspended? That leaves £16m left, split for 20 teams which doesn't even pay for half a first team's weekly wage! They should have given the money to charity.... ...like Bristol Rovers1 point -

Result!! Sort off....... Restore to factory condition to Win 8 - LogMeIn works OK! Install Sophos AV suite - LogMeIn works OK Install 82 Win 8 updates - Logmein fails Google different scenarios until we hit on the Microsoft Support suggestion - Disable settings in msconfig a block at a time to see if we find the culprit and....BINGO!! Conflict between the Sophos Client Firewall/Firewall Manager (if you have followed this, you'll remember the FW is switched off) and Internet Explorer This now (hopefully) appears to be working and we are NOT touching the 8.1 upgrade button!1 point -

I have five motorcylces in my garage, none run anymore, I'll give you a good deal on any or all of them. I HIGHLY recommend taking a motorcycle safety course. The one I took was Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning: half in the class room, half in the saddle. They provide the bikes. At the end of the course, those of us who passed got a certificate which we were able to take to the RMV and get our motorcycle licences. It was the best thing I could've done and it made me a better driver, on the bike and in the car. Also, I'll emphasize what Doc said about hearing protection. I always where a full face helmet and use ear plugs, the wind noise will do a number on your hearing fast.1 point -

Tires now. Old motorcycle tires are dangerous. They may have lots of tread left, they may not be dry rotted, but they aren't as soft as they should be. 6 years is generally quoted as the maximum for tires to still be safe to use at highway speeds, although some folks insist 10 years is ok. Otherwise, have fun, and wear your fucking helmet. Even if you never crash, it'll save your hearing. Riding without ear protection or a full face helmet at highway speeds = saying "Huh?" a lot when you get older.1 point -
