Why I think Crucible is...not too bad. I suppose.

shiI've never been a fan of Destiny PvP. There was something that I just didn't like and I finally worked it out the other day: it takes too long to kill anybody! The fact that people have a shield AND health is just an annoyance. I prefer games with a fairly quick TTK. Not a game where it can take an entire clip to kill somebody.

Plus is has the COD issue where one game I can kill people fine and the next game nobody will die. Must be an Activision problem

I enjoy twitch shooters but my real introduction to multiplayer FPS was the Halo series and being used to OW more recently the long TTK doesn't bother me.  I have only had maybe 10-12 matches but can't say I've noticed the CoD problem (well except when using a pulse rifle but pulse rifles suck balls!).

 

I do wish they would add a hardcore mode though - maybe same amount of health but no shields.  Or even something more fun like SWAT from Halo (basically headshot only with scout rifles) which I used to love as it relied on accuracy but it was so fast paced too.

Not played any yet as I haven't focused on what guns are like at all. Until then, I can't enjoy PvP without a decent gun.

Never minded long TTK and I've always enjoyed Destiny PvP. Was hoping the new modes would be pretty fun to work together.

I've quite enjoyed crucible so far. Don't really get why there are two playlists which are both basically mosh pits (CoD term ), but I always loved mosh pit in CoD anyway so I am happy.

From what I've heard I can't believe there are no separate game modes.
Also agree with biron TTK is too slow and 4v4 is done for competitive only, have a 6v6 playlist.

I've only played the MP in the Destiny 2 beta but it was a god awful experience. I was hoping for something like vintage Halo but it was just a generic load of bullet sponge shit. 

 

My theory on 4v4 is due to technical limitations. They may spew the usual PR how small teams make for better tactics and communication but that's total BS. You can be in a 6 man Raid but you can't then retain the same team for PvP as two players have to be ommitted. That doesn't make any reasonable sense especially with the devs new social ethos and it's either due to technical limitations or is simply atrocious game design by Bungie just like the catalogue of errors in the original whereby 50% of players didn't even play a raid. Has to be one or the other and I think somewhere along the lines 12 players was too much for the game to handle.

Been playing this over the weekend and with a full team of friends it's actually pretty good. I wish they'd remove TeDiuM for the game as it's the shittest mode in there.

Auto Rifles work best and I have one called The Number. It's a beast in PVP! Last few bullets in a magazine deal extra damage and because it takes a full clip to kill people it just wrecks.

I've played quite abit now and whilst overall I'm not a fan of just 2 playlists I can see why they did it. I only ever used to play control and didn't want to play anything else. At least this means that content created is being used more often. You end up getting used to other modes that might've been okay in D1 if I tried them.

I really enjoy the Competitive playlist. It helps to be pushed in the PvP side for me otherwise I'll just mess about too much.

I'm more in anticipation on when Private Matches are available. With us now having a significant amount of people playing this, we could have some great laughs in PvP games against each other.
