Dead Man Down

Colin Farrel and I can't remember the womans name.

Meh of a movie, but was amusing, more of a suspense/ Drama than the action flick it pretends to be

Luke 23:34
'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do."

Just watched "Lone Survivor" tonight. All I can say is WOW.... What a great movie. Knowing it is based on a true story made it probably one of the saddest movies I believe I have ever watched. Awesome and tear jerking both at the same time, if you have not seen it yet I highly recommend it.  The battle scenes are VERY intense.

The Godfather. Watched it last night. And hold onto your seats......that's the first time I have ever watched it. I've seen bits and pieces of it over the years but never actually sat and watched the whole thing till last night.

I watched Malificent over the weekend.

It was actually really good. The Special effects were amazing.

Captain America:Winter Soldier

Good movie. I really enjoy the Marvel movies. This is is just as good as the others

Well, what did you think?

Really good. I love all the old gangster movies so I knew I'd like it anyway. Truth be told though, I personally liked The Untouchables better than the Godfather, that's just me though.

Watched Dallas Buyers Club last night. I didn't think I would care for it before I saw it, but actually thought it was a really good movie. Matthew Mcconaughey was excellent in his role, and it was shocking to see how much weight he lost to play that role.

The Godfather 2 was better but liked Goodfellas more.

Yeah I loved Goodfellas. That one is one of my fav mob movies.

Joe Peshi in Casino was one of my favorite mob characters

Just got done finally watching the movie "Gravity" because I heard how it was so great etc etc. Am I the only person that thought it pretty much sucked?? No real story, no character building, very thin plot, nothing but a display of special effects with not much else IMO. One of the most overrrated movies I have seen in years if you ask me.

What do you mean by no real story?  A scientist is stranded in space and has to pull herself together through some insane circumstances.  It's a story of survival.  I really enjoyed it.  I'd give it a 8.5/10

I watched this last night:

You just summed up the entire movie plot in less than 10 words, that's my point lol. There is absolutly no build up of characters, the movie starts with them in space already, there's no build up of who they are, where they really came from, people in their lives, things they did before they were at the point of being trapped in space. The whole thing about Sandra's daughter dying almost like a writers afterthought and was just a weak attempt at a quick backstory that they summed up in less than 30 seconds of the movie. So there's no connection for the audience to actualluy care one way or another about the main characters. The whole plot is she's trapped in space and has to get back, IMO it's lacking in plot because there's nothing else to go along with it.

I'll give you an example using another space movie, Armagedon. In Armageddon the first part of the movie was building the characters by showing their backstory of who they are, why they are there, the people in their lives, the relations between Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck, how and who would be affected if they died,  the relationship betwen Bruce Willis and Ben, even the smaller parts like Steve Buscemi's character and Micheal Duncan had character build ups which added to the plot which in turn makes you as the viewer feel a connection to the character, which also in turn makes you care about what happens to them in the movie. In Gravity....it's two people in space with no story other than "oh we're trapped and have to get back".....And? lol. There's just nothing to make you care about them. Plot just seemed really really thin to me man, almost like it took no imagination to come up with. I felt they tried to rely way too much on CGI and really put no actual thought into the script or plot if you ask me.

Think that's a problem with the movie industry these days, that and the whole 3D thing.
