One of the Call of Duty scumbags was captured cheating surprise surprise. Why these cheating streamers get invited and how they are allowed to continue making money from this behaviour is beyond me. I know EA are desperate to capture a wider audience but things like this piss me off

These people should be banned for life, it blows my mind they get invited to these events (then again its EA after all, not exactly known for having any integrity either), and by their very existence these cheaters ruin the experience for everyone else, fucking weasels 🙃

I am guessing they do it cuz at the start of their streaming career they are generally crap at games so helps with their channel but by the point they get big then they can't get rid because it would be obvious? I don't get cheating on games to be honest but I suppose there is no financial implication if I have a bad game or bad night, usually just a pride thing and realising I am getting older!

The online PC space is plagued with cheaters, I used to find it funny in DayZ as you'd get scripture being quite imaginative, making the sky rain with animals and stuff like that but using it to win games or to look like you're good at a game, just sad imo

In Tarkov it got so annoying, dying to cheaters made me go PVE. Though tbf im playing it more than ever as a result of that...

I'm fairly interested in this. It may be the kick in the ass I need to get back into online shooters.  I also heard today that they're using a kernel-based anti-cheat for BF6.   The one streamer I was watching was down for it, but some of his chatters were being pissy.

I'm keeping myself grounded, the beta test coming this week will be a good opportunity to see how it plays..

but of course i'm dying for it to be good, I'd love to play another game as good as BF3 or BF4.

Also, not sure the 1080ti will handle it, so most likely I'll be on PS5.

Pretty much. It's always hilarious when the COD streamers get invited to an event and then they all play so terribly. The infamous excuses then start such as;-

- I wasn't playing in my room and felt uncomfortable

- I'm not used to using a Playstation controller that isn't mine

- The screen is different from mine and I had trouble seeing things

- The distance I was from the monitor made it difficult to see what was going on

- I forgot to change the sensitivity before the event started which I why I went 7-17 every game

It's an absolute joke and companies like Activision know these people cheat and profit from streams and tournaments. Some like Nadia have even been unbanned because they personally know staff. It's so disgracefully corrupt and it's a complete joke that something like this was allowed to happen at a controlled Battlefield event. I've seen some of these 'alleged' cheaters in action at events when they have to play legit and it is painful to see how absolutely dogshit they are without cheats. No awareness, accuracy or ability.

So SBMM has been mentioned and all of the COD fans are absolutely losing their shit 🤣

The system that COD currently uses seems to have given COD players serious PTSD whenever SBMM is mentioned. They just assume that it will be the same shitty system that COD uses.

In reality SBMM has been in BF for absolutely ages and it's only used to balance the teams.

Call of Duty players (influencers mostly) are already trying to ruin this game - literally some are already crying for a competitive ladder and others think the Battle Royale mode should be prioritised. I honestly can't wait for Black Ops 7 and hopefully most of them will go. It's clearly many of them have never played Battlefield before or don't understand it.

Not needing the EA app for this game is fantastic news! They'll probably gain a million players for this alone.

I wonder if part of it may also be fear, if your brand is built off the back of a particular game, any threat to that game is also a threat to your brand. Trying to switch over to a whole new game if it is far more successful and trying to make something of a game or series that you have never experienced and fully understand is not something that I imagine would be easy to do.

The only problem is that you have to subscribe to Intel's newsletters. However, be aware that Intel can offer you free games if you sign up. Last month, you had the choice between Nightingale, Total Warhammer 3 et AC Mirage.

No idea if there will be free games in the future, but it might be worth it.

I watched a Twitch streamer for 30 minutes this morning and i'm now in the Beta 🙂

I gave it a go, the guy's I play battlefield with are generally loving it, I don't feel quite the same way, with COD being in a lull I can see this taking some of the players from there so will improve the longevity of the series however This feels like a middle ground between Battlefield and Call of Duty, the gameplay is fast, the maps I have played so far are very infantry focused, you spawn in almost in combat. The vehicle play was limited again and unlike previous games a tank did not feel like something to be afraid of, 1 well placed RPG could take it out.

I'm kind of the same, only had time for a few games yesterday and I just wasn't feeling it. Shooting feels off to me, though that could be me being too used to kb&m these days. But it was more that it was very hectic and Conquest felt more like a deathmatch game mode. The maps I played on felt a bit claustrophobic.

I'll give it another go again today and see if it was just me returning to using a controller that was putting me off...

I am glad someone feel's this way, it was madness, you spawn in, you are in combat within a couple of seconds and fighting for your life. That's fine in the sense it is quick and you are straight into action but that's not entirely battlefield, Battlefield has always been a game you have been able to influence and turn the tide by getting a great flank or creaping behind enemy lines to capture a base to the rear.

The games of Conquest I played and the points were constantly changing and it was a little disorienting.

The game is better than the last one and I could see me playing this but more because I prefer this over COD, that's not to say COD is bad or anything and I played it with FG socially really but for a long time it has not been a series for me.

I suspect they've purposely chosen maps for the beta that are infantry focused because they're wanting to attract COD players to the game.

I haven't played the game yet as I don't have early access although I did try the shooting range just to see how it felt. I also managed to catch some gameplay videos and I just cannot shake off the feeling about the maps being off. There doesn't seem to be any landmarks and they look really compact and just too chaotic. Even the snow map looks a lot smaller than the environment would suggest plus it's clear that one has a nightmare issue with spawns and balance. It looks incredibly refined but if the scale and vehicle balance is off then it could lead to a torrid experience. If there is not much room for strategic play and it becomes a chaotic state of destruction and spam, then it will be very disappointing irrespective of how good it looks and feels. They do not want to be in the same position like they were in 2042 where maps had to be reworked entirely and balance was all over the shop.

Vince Zampella has done fine job but I just wonder if he has too much Call of Duty in him to create an independent Battlefield game without borrowing too many design philosophies. I get they want to attract as many COD players as possible as they ambitiously target 100m users but they can't alienate the core Battlefield community which is already big enough when they actually get the game right in the first instance.

Pretty much the same as previously mentioned.  I was saying the other night that the spawns were too hectic.  I remember some Battlefield maps you were able to effectively clear the area behind you and push forward.  Now you just get shot in the back.  It seems like a giant death match rather than a territorial advance.

I'm also pants with a controller.  Seriously.  I can't shoot for shit anymore.  I believe it supports Keyboard and mouse though so thats good.

Very  much on the fence at the minute.

Played a few matches just now and the game is a complete mess. The maps are far too small and the action is way too chaotic. It doesn't matter how refined your game is or how pretty it looks; if it is this borked by design then you've fucked it basically. At no point tonight did I ever feel like I was participating in a tactically-driven and closely-knit squad - everything was just a nonsensical free for all and it's not a case of it being a new game or with inexperienced players - the way it is designed leads to this outcome every bloody minute. There are no safe spawns, no way to play logically - you spawn and then pick a flank to run in and just pray you don't get shot front, back or sides. Capture points change hands far too often and it's too easy to hop on and challenge. It literally plays like a game of COD domination but with 5 flags.

One of the smaller maps on BF4 was Operation Locker and that was fantastic because matches flowed and even in tight chokepoints, you were always playing a territorial battle. This game has no semblance of strategy and now that EA's sponsorship deals with streamers is over, maybe we'll get some honesty. They've put destruction ahead of everything else and missed the entire point of what makes a Battlefield game. The same bad decisions 2042 made persist here but in a different form yet there is over a decade of proven gameplay concepts that they just cannot seem to recreate or understand. I'll have another go tomorrow but I am not impressed at all.

Maybe its my monitor etc.  But there's just TOO much going on. Rubble, leaves, plant pots, smoke, bricks, a mars bar wrapper in the wind,LOOK OUR BUILDINGS COLLAPSE!, more rubbish, more smoke, trees, bushes, a deck chair, dust in the wind by kansas, a small rodent feverishly gnawing on the entrails of a deceased soldier.  Meanwhile your comrades all sprint around in random directions unable to come to a stop for fear of being insta-killed by a soldier who managed to teleport into his friends body by means of quantum superposition and now you die.  Is it worth waiting for help?  No, no it isn't.  Your team-mates either don't know how to revive you or don't care about your pitiful existence.  As the screen fades to black you yearn for the opportunity to make different decisions, that ultimately would have saved your life but.......... oh wait you can literally instantly spawn with seemingly no penalty, straight in to the action, cool.

In short this game is ADHD simulator.  it wants to be everything, but  manages to be nothing.  its not tactical, nor is it close combat.  It's visually beautiful , but vastly over complex.  It's too fast, and unless it changes *a lot*, I'm probably going to skip it tbh.

I just played on the Cairo map and although it was a better experience i.e flags not changing hands every 20 seconds, it was ridiculously chaotic. Every time I spawned in, it took me some time just to get my bearings on where I was, what direction I was facing and where to head next. Every part of the map looks the same and even knowing where you are going to spawn, you still can't work out where you actually end up.

A quick tip is to go into the options and disable film grain, chromatic aberration, motion blur, weapon motion blur and vignette because those are all enabled by default and make the game look absolutely horrific even at max settings. You will still have to put up with all the rubble and trees but at least the image will be a bit clearer and cleaner.

Sorry but after reading these comments I had to reply, this is absolutely nowhere near anything cod has every produced, if the shooting feels off, maybe change the settings? Mine felt off and josh sorted me out with that, stopped the shakey feel to it, @J4MES OX4D @crispymorganI genuinely don't know what you were expecting after seeing trailers, the game is carnage and I fucking love it for that, or would you rather be on cod getting slide cancelled and hacked every 5 minutes or a realistic warfare game with proper destruction?@Luseth I dunno what tanks you've run into bud, every time I hit one of those cunts with an rpg it does 25 damage, cant get away from the bastards 🤣🤣

Honestly don't get the hate, this is by far the best beta I've played in years, was talking to Josh and tom about it, if they brought this out as a game, there isn't much I could complain about which would make me regret buying it, few minor tweaks of course but Holy shit, the game is beautiful, time to kill is bang on, sticks to being a tactical masterclass! Had so much fun on it!

Battlefield trailers are always 'carnage' but the series at its core is a grand FPS with tactical elements. There is no semblance of this in the game - it's just overly-chaotic action on very small maps where flags change hands easily and territory doesn't matter because you can be easily swarmed left, right and centre. They've appealed to the Call of Duty players at the expense of Battlefield's core values and have concocted this middle-ground type of game and I'm just not sure about it. The bigger maps will probably play better like Operation Firestorm but the ones we have in the beta are just too small, chokepoint-laden and offer absolutely no tactical flexibility or POI.

Seems like you've spent majority of your games playing domination mate, because from HQ on Conquest, it takes a Ballache to get back to where you need to be, similar to BV, Similar to Battlefield 1.
