  3. October 10th so the leaks were right. Beta's this month also. Kinda wish they didn't go all Call of Duty in the trailers but it was nice to see Operation Firestorm returning and hopefully we'll see some other classics come back. My main worry is everything being too destructive and chaotic especially on the smaller maps. I love Metro and Locker but a relentless barrage of rubble and smoke effects could make the smaller maps look a bit messy. I trust it will play well so we'll have to wait and see.
  4. Final shape is fun to solo, but the forced grouping after the main campaign was annoying, because people would just randomly charge around and do the stuff they needed to get done, but not communicate that at all. Also, be prepared for a really janky Zavala storyline
  5. I finished Lightfall yesterday and was glad to put it to bed. I had to drop the difficulty to normal because it was no fun playing on legendary here unlike the Witch Queen. Firefights were just full on spongey spammy enemies and you would get obliterated from all directions in some battles. A couple of missions were enjoyable to a degree towards the end especially the tank one which reminded me of Halo but most were forgettable with boring objectives and predictable fights. The story was ok but written poorly and the likes of Nimbus and Osiris were both unbearable characters throughout. Worth finishing for the subclass and the story conclusion though. Completed the intro mission to The Final Shape which seems a much better location but I'm not sure if I'll start it yet.
  6. I'm definitely more confident about this one especially as most people who made 2042 have long left the company and proper and proven developers were brought in instead. I knew instantly that 2042 would be a catastrophe because it had no campaign, no squad system, no voice chat, no scoreboard, 128 players, barely any guns, no server browser, no stat tracking, stupid specialists, map-changing levolution replaced with temporarily inconvenient weather effects, awful interface, no rush, TDM or dom, no progression, overly-large and empty maps and bot-filled lobbies. It was literally the most anti-Battlefield game imaginable and clear the developers didn't have a clue what the series was about or what they were doing. They were removing staples of the series and the genre without any logic. My only worry with BF6 is if it leans too far into COD. We desperately need these big BF4-style tactical maps.
  7. In the same boat, I pre-ordered the last one having enjoyed the few before, won't be doing that again. The group I play these games with are liking the looks of it but I won't lie to me it just looks like a call of duty game at the moment.
  8. Exactly the cause of my reticence. I was hoping to give it a good test in the beta but of course it comes out the weekend I'm away 😄 but hopefully you lot will play it and give some feedback as I want to get it and I want to love it.
  9. Yesterday
  10. Lightfall had some really odd choices for gated content. Which was really dumb considering there is no reason to gate it currently, but last I played it still was. Honestly the last really fun expansion was Witch Queen. Everything that came after was just a lot of confusing decisions from Bungie. I still played the it up until a few weeks ago, but I just didn't understand why they did what they did.
  11. Have fun playing 1000 ways to die for the first couple of days. Once you do get into it though and manage to get to "late game" stages and get some kills it’s so rewarding. I also recommend looking up starter tips before playing 😂
  12. That's a very strong offering. Lies of P also has just released some very impressive DLC too
  13. Good month really, lot's of new players for Day Z is always good and Lies of P looked really interesting when it came out, I feel like this is them jumping on the Clair Obscure bandwagon as I have a feeling the setting & atmosphere is similar.
  14. Last week
  15. Ohhhhh day z will definitely give that a crack.
  16. I've done a few hours on Lightfall now and it feels really off and I'm not sure why. Definitely a step back over The Witch Queen in narrative terms along with mission design but the does look fantastic. Really not a fan of the characters or writing either. The Journey page is ideal as it lays out everything so much easier so you know what needs to be done and what you can do. Better than ducking in and out of the world map trying to find things haha!
  17. Totally addicted to this game the last couple of weeks, its all i play right now and I'm in a great place with it. I stopped smoking for good two weeks ago today and Tarkov has kept me sane 🤗 relatively speaking 🤪
  18. Yeah i dunno about this still, 2042 left a bad taste, partly the shitty launch but also that no-one gave it much of a chance. I bought it and played it mostly solo and would've been fun if others had bothered with it. If the single player campaign is good then maybe after launch I'll pick it up. I have Tarkov for my shooter needs, I don't see any game better than that right now 🙂
  19. I think the real hard thing about this is it won't take long for the same people to say 'its not changed', although it has had some great QoL updates now. What its missing for me is a group of people that want to go on to the game and play at their own pace but are willing to help each other when needed. Missions are so much more fun in a group, apart from maybe some campaign missions that can give you some real challenge but not impossible to do alone. There is loads for us to pick up on before we probably entered Crucible PvP again. Its mainly the class abilities to get your head around. I don't even know them all now, but there is an inbuilt build save which I think when you've built a few ways to play, you can switch your whole armour and guns in a second (rather than using 3rd party apps on your phone which we used to do).
  20. Glad you really enjoyed Witch Queen @J4MES OX4D, its right up there in terms of campaigns of any game really. Each mission felt chunky, difficult and the story was one that keeps you invested to the very end. Lightfall, funnily enough is still the only one I haven't gone all the way through to complete would you believe. I love the aesthic of the planet and missions, but it set off in a strange way - maybe its also because Strand is a completely different class ability that for me broker my brain abit 😅 I need to restart it actually to get to grips with it as lots of people use some abilities across many builds. Good news is you Final Shape and then this new one is apparently really good storywise. What do you think to the 'Journey' page? I find that drives me forward with better objectives than the world now as I can see how it can get confusing if you don't know where to go.
  21. So I've just begun Lightfall and this seems like an interesting location. However I've noticed the DLC has been appallingly received by many so I'm kinda dreading what I am walking into particularly on legendary. I did the first mission which felt like spongy busywork with an irritating boss that I had to cheese to a degree. Already not sold on the story or characters and it seems like a big step back from The Witch Queen. I'm still going to keep an open mind but I am expecting a tiresome and frustrating slog
  22. Some new stable gameplay
  23. This is brilliant and so true
  24. Was this the last pack you played? It never has been that long has it?!
  25. Sign me up!!!! I will always play a BF game. 2042 was pretty bad at launch, but its a helluva lot of fun now
  26. The gameplay coming from the test environment looks very good especially from a mechanics standpoint. Looks quite refined now plus there's cool things like being able to drag and heal injured team mates for revive. Definitely seems much closer to BF4 and 2042 but I hope there are larger maps that aren't as chaotic and bloated with effects. Who would've thought that ex-COD developers would save Battlefield lol!
  27. I'm hoping this is basically BF4 2.0. That is IMO the best BF to date. They're doing a big MP reveal event on July 31st and leaks suggest the beta will launch straight afterwards or the following weekend. The also accidentally gave away the release date which is October 10th.
  28. Agreed, it was a really bad expansion, only did it on one character and that was because of the armor bounties. Still though, if you can get in near the keep, the Public events were wildly popular up until I stopped playing.
