    FG Germany FIFA 22 Cup

Well played @Macca89 think you were a bit better than me, I certainly found defending against you difficult! The winning goal just caught you on the break and the quality difference in teams carried me through. It could really have gone either way though so was quite a good game!

    FG Germany FIFA 22 Cup

Managed to play our game last week, can remember winning but not the score 😁 3 or 4-1 maybe?
  3. Ah it's ok, I did not mean to put a dampner on the subject, more just pointing out that a lot of tattoo's have meaning behind them i.e. yours is about friendship. I can't say it's the case for everyone and every tattoo but often there are meanings behind the one's people choose to have.
  4. Another new addition today 🙂 I loved this and it's sequel Skull Caps (which I can never seem to find anywhere). I imagine this game will scratch the itch though.
  5. Watched it now, looks quite good tbf. I do like games like these days and it looks like it has plenty of substance (looks pretty too!)
  6. I will sit down and watch this in a bit but at first glance looks like something I would quite enjoy ^_^
  7. I do, it's one I got for my first daughter (a little dragon, looks a little like toothless to be honest out of how to train your dragon) it has a couple of sentimental attachments to it though. I had intended to get it watercoloured over the top in rainbow esque colours i.e. blues and pink but I haven't done it yet. Our first daughter never came home from the hospital sadly (she passed away at a month old) and it feel's like the last thing I can do for her, but once I have finished the tattoo then that's it there's nothing more I can do for my little girl =/ Then there came a second attachment in that a friend did the tattoo originally and during the pandemic (lockdown) she took her own life. I wouldn't be adverse to having another one and whilst there was some pain at the time it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be!
  8. It's a series I always wanted to get into (as was devil may cry) and for some reason always passed me by, they always look fantastic ^_^
  9. So I have just won on ebay a new tv that I think deserves a home on here 😄 My aim is to have a gaming space again in my garage (we want to convert it at some point) and I would like to have a bit of a retro space, I put in an offer on the below which was accepted but here ya go - I think I just need a purple N64 to go with it (image 2 in the next post)
  10. I will have a listen this evening 🙂

    FG Germany FIFA 22 Cup

I am back today so could do my game with @Lurch before clubs tomorrow or something. I’m guessing not many people beat macca? 😁
  12. How does it relate to the film? I.e. is the book better, does the film miss much out? I plan to read through The Scion of Shannara this coming week ^_^ Big fan of the series and just realised to day I have the druid of shannara signed by the author! I'm quite the fan of sci-fi and fantasy material
  13. I am not sure if ds is considered retro yet but its a bit of a rarer buy and then a new n64 game were my purchases today. i also got a mega drive so will get it checked out later on this evening
  14. Seem's there are a few of us with a fondness for the megadrive in here so thought I would get some chat going (I'm hopefully going to pick one up later, I think the retro chats with you guy's has given me a kick up the arse to finally replace my broken one 😄 ) I'm sat watching some gameplay of Mickey Mouse's castle of illusion, this was the only game I owned in another language (Japanese for some reason) so for the most part I didn't have an idea what was going on but it was a platformer so easy enough to play ^_^ On the video I'm watching currently it looks like it holds up fairly well as far as visuals and the such goes. So any other fond megadrive memories?
  15. I just completed this quiz. My Score 41/100 My Time 80 seconds
  16. I just completed this quiz. My Score 16/100 My Time 73 seconds
  17. I'm trying not to go too hard too quick on the retro section so a new thread a week or something 😄 So this week I'm going with, what is your favourite retro console? The console you have fond memories of and why? So there are 2 for me for different reasons - The main one is the mega drive, the first console my parents got for me and one that I used to even play with my dad despite him not being into video games (we used to play a lot of fifa 96). I don't currently have one (I have some little boxed thing my mom got me a couple of years back that let's me play the games but it's a bit crap!) The second is the PS1, I played this a lot as my escape from school (I was bullied a bit back then) and the Final Fantasy franchise became a huge escape for me (sadly the series won't be returning to what made it so great I don't think!). I actually have 2 PS1's now though they don't come out often with one being in a rather tatty looking box that I picked up from a car boot years back, though if either of them work these day's is anyone's guess! Typically the PS2 get's used as it can play both.

    Retro chat

Personally I mainly use a cheap avi to hdmi thing I bought on amazon ages back but it's most certainly not the best way to play older consoles. I think you can use the capture cards to but imagine there would be some input lag for those. The best way's are to use a proper upscaler, I think the framemeister is considered the best but it is quite pricey (talking £300 there abouts), for a more affordable option it would be something like an OSSC which usually goes for about half the price. I do also have one of the Retron consoles which is like an all in one thing that plays multiple platforms, save's me having to have everything out at the same time if I choose not to.
  19. I havent really played many survival games but i had good fun with that (the exception being that i couldnt see in the dark!) Given me a taste now so will have to check out some others (suggestions welcome!)
  20. I'm not sure what people's ages are on here, I missed out on the 80s (born 1990) but I have a fascination for a lot of things from that era, music, gadgets, fashion etc and it's something that I have never really implemented into my life. However I am sat here watching the first episode of stranger things and thinking how cool it would be to have some 80s themed items around my home (I'm sure my wife would kill me!) Just curious if anyone has anything round their homes that is 80s styled or perhaps even retro, old gadgets, posters etc that they would be happy to show off? I could find this thread falls flat on it's face as I'm weird but hey who knows 😄
  21. So my current focus is gameboy related as i am a bit skint atm so looking out for cheaper games that i want in my collection (hoping for a big splurge on retro stuff when my wife returns to work in january). My last purchase was this - The gbc version is more of a traditional rpg in the mould that I quite enjoy and this cost me less than a fiver (i have just put a bid on chamber of secrets gbc on ebay as well). The games went in a different route once they hit the gba
  22. I picked it up ^_^ just wern't sure which version people on here play on (I think the free upgrade may have ended this month but not sure)
  23. Is this on ps? If so 4 or 5? I could redownload it, havent played gta in ages
  24. I can appreciate that, the number of remasters and remakes coming through have sort of stagnated the games industry. People are buying them because there is nothing else but then developers keep making them knowing that it's an easy return and a fairly safe bet. I have a fair few games in my backlog at the moment but generally because they are so similar to what I have played recently it's difficult to muster up the enthusiasm to play them. It's another plus for retro games in that the variety is broader and much more diverse with ideas and the such.
