Cancelled after 3 years of development. Another complete waste of time and resources by Ubisoft. It's also mildly funny that they are considering xDefiant a 'bigger opportunity' when they can't even get that out the door for the last 18 months. I've always thought Heartland was a stupid watered-down cash grab and they'd be better off focusing on The Division 3 and more ambitious titles but this is a lot of time they will not get back.

More closures expected in the coming weeks but whether they get announced before or after the June showcase remains to be seen. This situation proves that a cull can happen whether you are working on an existing project, and regardless of how successful your previous games are. 
 
Everyone kinda knew that the Activision takeover would be the most pointless and damaging in gaming history especially after the Bethesda disaster but I don't think many foresaw how it would ruin so many smaller developers with MS obliterating all their ethics.

Studio closures to cut costs, failing game pass and Phil Spencer going against everything he stood for. Sounds like an absolute shambles.  The fact Bobby Kotick got a near $400m payoff is absolutely nuts. I did predict that all this would happen in the Microsoft/Activision takeover thread and how it would be a catastrophe for gamers and developers. Funnily enough, not even the shareholders are seeing a benefit of it yet!

£30 is nuts for an expansion. £15 tops I'd say. Bohemia treating it like it's a new release so they can get that sweet ass pay day. 

It's nice to have a new map but it's going to cost around 30 quid when there's already plenty of free maps already via mods....but yeah I'll likely pick it up.

I've now read that Sony seem to have still not made the game re-available in the 177 countries they are not in so even though PSN linking was made optional again, I don't think this is the end from a Sony perspective. I do think things can change in games over time, especially in live service ones like this one but clearly if they knew this before as an option that may happen then all they had to do was communicate it. Mental how many things fall over in the world just because someone didn't say something at the relevant time.

You can't buy Sea of Thieves and other Microsoft games/products if there is content restrictions in place in a specific region. Microsoft also don't introduce retroactive or newfound restrictions that block access to users paid products. The point with Helldivers 2 is that people bought the game in regions it was distributed to, and then Sony wanted to enforce a mandatory DRM which would've restricted those purchasers in such areas from accessing the game ever again whilst offering no recourse. They'd be locked out of a product they have previously paid and played.  
 
If you are in a location where Microsoft don't operate then you will not be able to buy their products or register an account.

Gotta pump all that money into Call of Duty and Bethesda smh! Hi-Fi Rush was a great title but obviously that isn't enough for Microsoft or any greedy corporation now. More will fall especially with MS trying to offload all their gamepass studio acquisitions that haven't paid off in trying to close the gap on Playstation. Sad to see especially when they are happily spending tens of billions on other brands for EZ munay.
