  1. Didn't expect all this controversy to materialise. A lot of the 'drama' seems to be peddled by rivals but it has exposed some cut corners that suggests LTT wasn't as squeaky clean as they like to present. What never ceases to amaze me though is how all these channels/companies have it quite easy and rake in the money yet make such stupid mistakes that sink, or dent their reputations. Popular YouTube Channel Linus Tech Tips Taking Break Following Massive Controversy KOTAKU.COM Criticism by rival channel Gamers Nexus has prompted a big apology
  2. This got a surprised release the other day during QuakeCon. It's free for existing owners and available on all current gen systems for £8. Quake 2 is setting a new gold standard for remasters that's leagues ahead of other "conversions" | GamesRadar+ WWW.GAMESRADAR.COM After a disappointing reveal from Red Dead Redemption, Quake 2 is everything a classic game remaster should be If this was a Rockstar game, it would be the original 1997 port costing £59.99😎
  3. Even more Doom Eternal
  4. Yeah, I also think he would’ve been worth more to Spurs this upcoming season than the £80m-odd received in the end. Once offers dried up from Real Madrid, Man City and Man Utd and him turning 30, transfer options have become limited and Bayern would’ve definitely not been a preferred choice. Kane’s also played in 3 cup finals for Spurs and the Euro 2020 one and lost the lot and played dismally in all so he probably should’ve accepted that he’s had his chance with trophies and should just stick it out in the Prem. Even thought Bayern stole the title on the last day last season, it’s still very much a one horse race and even the Bayern fans were only excited by the finale because they weren’t winning every game.
  5. Poor Harry Kane - can’t even win a trophy playing in a cup final for his first game a day after joining😂 It would be hilarious if Spurs win something before he does!
  6. 42,000 reviews now in and it's down to 11%. Could be heading towards the title of worst game ever on Steam!
  7. Released yesterday and has achieved an 'overwhelmingly negative' review score of just 15% out of 22,000 total reviews. I'm not sure if they've been even more scummy with their business practices this season but this is a damning showing of the direction that game has taken compared to what it once was.
  8. Some gameplay footage came out a couple of weeks back It looks decent but I will never understand why they are naming it after very poorly received souls-like that wasn't even made by them or has anything to do with the original. That's caused so much confusion for a very long time and will likely act as a deterrent for many oblivious gamers long after the game has released. So it's not a remake, nor is it a reboot it seems. The first game is still not even a decade old as it stands but both games are shared by the same publisher so perhaps maybe they want to wipe the existence of the original and have another crack. The amount of confusion this has caused has not gone down well though but it does look better and is out in a month's time.
  9. So I decided to give Doom Eternal another chance - I refunded it when it first came out and then didn't have a good time with it on game pass when trying it again, but I decided to take yet another punt - this time with the Deluxe version at £14.49 on Steam and I'm having a much more enjoyable time with it. I still don't like the design format all that much - it's a pretty significant departure from all the Doom games especially 2016 and the first few hours still make this game very hard to get into. That's what really put me off the first two times. It's a total slog with limited ammo and health, but in contrast the game early on actually teaches you how to move, approach battles and manage your ammo/health and then when you get going and find the rhythm, you unlock power-ups which make these issues less of a consideration as @Stretch616 mentioned. The platforming also starts off rather basic but in the later stages there are plenty of challenging movement and momentum platforming situations which are pretty fun to pull off. I just wish the game showcased more of these early on because it doesn't sell itself very well until you reach the Cultist Base IMO. I also think this is one of the best optimised games ever made - literally 150fps+ at 21:9/1440p with every setting turned up to extreme along with full ray tracing which is absolutely insane. I couldn't even maintain 60fps with Portal RTX! Eternal also looks absolutely astounding I definitely recommend giving this a try or another shot. I know quite a few people who pulled the plug early like me because they couldn't adjust to the game's core design or get past the extremely mediocre first few hours but for less than £15 complete, it's an absolute steal!
  10. Some more Doom Eternal

  12. Take-Two CEO says the $50 price tag on the multiplayer-free PS4 and Switch port of Red Dead Redemption 1 is 'commercially accurate' actually | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Strauss Zelnick says the port is "a great bundle for the first time, and certainly a great value for consumers." Not PC consumers, though! Bear in mind that this game was £12.99 9 years ago....
  13. And look at the dire state Destiny 2 is in right now - they couldn't even survive one premium release after going independent without having to seek an external buyout and even with a major backer, they have brick-walled themselves. Their last expansion sold abysmally and currently has a mostly negative rating on Steam. Call of Duty cannot afford to ever put itself in a position especially if they want to keep the brand alive. Destiny 2 is all but dead in the water now because this model has failed to bring players back and grow the game even being free. If COD is ever going to adopt a model of the same game every year being expanded upon then they actually have to make a solid foundation and make players stick and this is something they have failed to do since 2013 which is why it would be very risky. Activision rely on the day one sales and the early buzz before the player counts drop off significantly and then they milk the remainders. A persistent model cannot afford any drop-offs and demonstrate growth and once again this is something Call of Duty has failed to do for a decade unlike its competitors. The franchise is probably too stale and it being far too late in the day to explore something like this. What keeps COD fresh is it being a new game so if you take that away then you have to persuade existing owners to pay a premium to come back and also produce something that offers growth potential and I'm not sure if COD will limit itself if it just turns into a one-brand band. The one thing they should've kept persistent is Warzone and they royally fucked that up by removing Verdansk, pulling people's purchases and replacing the engine. That was Activision's opportunity to prove the concept of an ongoing concern and they completely ruined it for everyone.
  14. At this stage of the season, Spurs should have him stay and then take the financial hit. If they sell with no replacement on the immediate horizon then the season is over before it's even started. The Kane saga has gone on too long aka years and the board really have no clue with what to do which sums up how out of touch they are with running a football club.
  15. Yep, they renewed the IWNet framework allowing for P2P matchmaking however users are already reporting accounts being wiped and massive security problems because although they fixed the matchmaking, they did fuck all to eradicate the modders, cheaters and malicious actors. I’d actually avoid it just like the high-risk PC versions.
  16. Because the existing games are usually on their last legs long before then and then further demanding people buy an expansion for a game they don't play at full price wouldn't see many people coming back especially at a premium. Would also start splitting the playerbase and leave departed players alienated and possibly not coming back. MW3 is an isolated case because Activision did not plan ahead adequately and I wouldn't expect them to repeat this again. If they wanted to do down this avenue, it should've been done years ago and done properly, however the series was too busy pissing around with boost jumping, wall running and going back to World War 2. I don't believe they've made a game that offers a confident foundation for them to build upon either but MW2019 would've been a good starting point and then they go and follow it up with a highly inferior game. It's definitely possible for this to happen - Siege, Fortnite, Apex and CS maintain strong playerbases and even grow still to this day but COD always struggles with this respect and until they produce a game that has lasting potential and a cemented design, then they will forever be releasing annually rinse and repeat. If only they released COD Online worldwide and supported that...
  17. Talking of profits, the OG Xbox 360 version which can be played on the One and Series X/S right now costs $30 on Xbox Live yet the upcoming PS4 version directly ported by a third party studio will cost $50 in comparison. Not sure how Rockstar will get away with this especially as it wont have the multiplayer. Thankfully the reception has been met which extreme criticism but the game will no doubt be a top seller in a couple of weeks.
  18. Another couple of quite annoying issues that people are blindly overlooking when giving it 11/10 scores is the pathing is broken for your companions - you can find a trap, swerve it and they'll walk over it. The other is a rather annoying pause every time you are given a dialogue choice. The camera moves to your character and then there's a 1-2 second awkward stop before the dialogue options appear. It sounds minimal but it actually affects the flow of conversation and looks absolutely fucking shite if I'm honest. Not sure if it's loading in dynamic algorithmic choices or if it's psyching you up for a choice option but when this happens 4-5 times in a single scene, it begins to annoy.
  19. I think a lot will depend on them getting the movement right - MW2019 was slick and people really enjoyed it. Playing that at 150fps+ was incredibly satisfying even though the game had its issues. MWII took away all the fluidity along with slide/reload cancel and it was sluggish in comparison especially with how clunky Warzone felt. This could be the determining and major differentiating factor. Just seen it. Doesn't generate any excitement really. Franchise is feeling really tired now.
  20. What the actual fuck - Red Dead Redemption is coming to the PS4 and Switch but nothing else? Red Dead Redemption Out on PS4 This Month, Not a Remaster WWW.PUSHSQUARE.COM Port costs $50 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5Nwgd_T1-4&ab_channel=RockstarGames Rockstar Games has today announc... Rockstar charging $50 for the privilege too! This isn't a remaster and the door is still open for that but this is one of the strangest releases imaginable. The RPCS3/Xenia versions are in elite states right now so people are just gonna be pushed towards those - why pay £40-50 on a shitty port by a fringe developer when you can have the source scaled up to 4K at 100fps and supporting ratios up to 32:9. If they don't have a remaster planned then this is nothing more than a lazy cash grab for a market that doesn't really play games of this nature and another which is fizzling out.
  21. This looks awesome - 3D Castlevania with N64 aesthetics. Only a fiver on Steam and is growing in popularity
  22. So I’ve played a bit more since release day and it’s really nice to have a game that is complete, isn’t divided up into improvised seasons with garbage content, and has no season pass or microtransactions, plus can be played offline. However the more I play, the more apparent it becomes that this is just a hardcore version of Divinity Original Sin 3. It just doesn’t feel resemble Baldur’s Gate at all. The characters have layers of depth and deep interactions, yet I don’t feel much of a rapport between the party members. The combat system is also quite dull especially compared to something like Wasteland 2 and you can stumble into impossible encounters far too often. The writing isn’t as good as I was expecting from a narrator and dialogue standpoint and I also think the interface is hideous. Really not a fan of some of Larian’s aesthetics or general art style. Character creator and voice lines is extremely limited although the classes are riddled with depth. it’s a tough one - on the one hand this is a solid product that a lot of people will enjoy and on the other, it’s just another Larian RPG pretending to be a BG title that doesn’t ooze a personality or have the narrative to back it up. I found it to be amazing and intriguing at first but it’s beginning to stink in some areas and it’s shortcomings are obvious.
