  1. Liverpool 5-5 Arsenal last night was pretty insane - some great football being played by young and fringe players. Quarter final draw Oxford Utd v Man City Man Utd v Colchester Utd Aston Villa v Liverpool Everton v Leicester City We played Man City at home last year in this competition and lost 0-3 but we're in a far better position this season so we should give them more of a game. It's pretty crazy but quite a few of us are a tad disappointed with the draw - it would've been nice to have a shot at someone we haven't played for a long time like Liverpool, or where we stand a chance of progressing to the semi finals against weaker teams Colchester and Man Utd😎
  2. I tried some realism mode yesterday which was surprisingly good. I didn't get to try the night mode though. The bullshit is not quite as prominent plus people camp and play as passively as they do in core so if you're struggling with the shitty netcode, this may be worth a look as you don't really have to worry about being melted after shooting first.
  3. Launch trailer nearly 8mins long!
  4. Not sure where this leaves Origin but with more going to Steam, it's gonna leave the Epic Store very red faced indeed. Just when it looked like publishers were breaking away from Steam for their own platform or bowing to Epic's Fornite money; they cannot resit the massive customer base and features that Valve has on it's platform. Even shitty Bethesda came crawling back in utter shame. Ubisoft's shares have tanked and with all their upcoming games now delayed, they should probably bite the 25-30% bullet and come home.
  5. LOL! EA games are coming to Steam, starting with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM EA Access will also launch on Steam next year.
  6. Priority MP issues acknowledged Footstep audio needs a lot of toning down. The sounds are quality but the directional and distance audio is way off. People are scared to move and others just soundwhore corners for pre-firing. I use Claymore with the x2 perk and it's a filthy setup. I sometimes get more kills this way than gun ones. There's so many doors, angles and corners to exploit, you are guaranteed two kills almost every life. Battle chatter is laughably flawed - your character will speak at the worst possible times in which the enemy can hear it i.e sneak up on an enemy and your character will shout 'Enemy Spotted' and then the enemy turns round and you get melted. It can't be disabled either. All they have to do is make it so only your team can hear such notifications. If they aren't willing to do that, then there has to be an option to turn it off. Spawns need a complete rework on the non-beta maps especially Picadilly. I never thought Spawn trapping would ever come back after Havana ooh na naa in Black Ops 1. Even spawn killing is an issue on bigger maps especially in ground war.
  7. Also the review embargo lifts on November 1st which is 7 days before release - this is a good sign unlike all those AAA games which are NDA'd right until launch and sometimes beyond just so pre-orders and purchases don't get thwarted by things like the game being utter shite!
  8. Game now coming to PC in early summer 2020. For some reason, a few PS4 gamers are so engraged, they've decided to cancel their pre-order because it's not an exclusive. Great logic - people now not playing the game because others can in the future...!? I'm getting it on release and if it's good, I'll get it on PC too.
  9. Wouldn't want to get stuck behind something like this
  10. Tried Spec Ops earlier and it’s not quite what I was expecting. There are 4 co-op operations which are objective-based in rather large scale maps. These are supposed to be tied to the story but this doesn’t appear to be the case as they just seem to be generic missions with respawning enemies from all directions. There is also Classic Spec Ops which has just one map and you survive an onslaught of enemies which was part of a mission of the campaign except there are stacks more and it’s pretty relentless. Doesn’t appear to be any other missions available at this time which is very disappointing. i was hoping for something more in-line with MW’s Spec Ops mode, but 4 bland operations and one poxy mission is just not enough here and it’s not a great concept either. Feels really undercooked and poorly thought out. Could be a laugh in co-op once in a while and you can earn MP XP but I can see this getting old fast.
  11. It's the same on the Euphates Bridge map where one team can occupy 90% of the map including the bridge which overlooks the spawn and they wont even flip behind team that's pushed nearly the whole map so one team gets pinned. Even if they get out of the spawn area, they still have to deal with 3 ground level choke points and potentially multiple targets on the bridge. If you push deep and die, the game respawns you right back to your initial spawn so as it stands, there isn't a hope in hell of a flip. Even if Picadilly gets fixed, it's design is too flawed - the other spawn area is just as broken as it's completely exposed to the center of the map plus the only safe area is a shop door which can be claymored easily. The white pillars can also be locked down and even if you can catch a break to the centre, you can then be window killed from the top right. Any competent team can control the map and the remainder of the match in the first 30 seconds. It's a beautiful map but its even worse that MW3's downturn.
  12. Another one gone That's the top two plus a 1m+ channel gone. I hope Mixer doesn't come across as the Epic Store of stream sites by throwing money around to grow their service but sniping big names and playing into Twitch's controversies will only grow Mixer more.
  13. I played a few matches of ground war earlier which were horrendous experiences even when doing well. Battlefield may have gone to shit but one thing it always has done right is conquest. 32 players divided into squads with classes and a leaders who can issue commands. Matches are usually tidy, easy to follow and extremely strategic. Maps are also well-designed and appropriately sized. MW’s attempt at this format is an absolute shit show - there is no strategy, player organisation or flow to matches - it’s like they just made maps bigger and hoped for the best. It’s more of an opportunity for players to build easy killstreaks with as little effort as possible than a grand spectacle. Spawn and flank camping is rife and there are so many windows and cheese spots, you can be shot from any direction at any time. On another note, dead silence needs to be a perk or footsteps need to be dialled down IMO.
  14. I've played quite a few missions so far and it's pretty good - first one looks absolutely remarkable especially with ray tracing enabled. It feels like a traditional Modern Warfare campaign which is great although it's still a bit linear and as Phil said in another thread; somewhat on rails. A few missions are a bit short too whilst others drag. The cutscenes are superb too and I really like the tone. Probably closer to COD 4 and MW2 in terms of feel and there seems to be a good variety of missions to with some tributes paid to the other old games.
  15. I've actually been matched with console players today but only in 20v20 matches. Wasn't happening yesterday so either the crossplay is borked or they are struggling to fill lobbies efficiently already....
  16. That map is too big even for 20v20 and that's also taking into account that all players usually end up using only one third of it with spawn areas and flanking routes largely neglected. Terrible map which is only ideal for domination and that's it. Good looking map but once you get spawn trapped on there, it's game over. It's also way too open in Domination and if you cap B, it's almost impossible to lose. For me, the Russian map is dreadful - it's like a long 3 lane map with stacks of windows, stairs and elevated places. You can be shot from every direction and height in that one. Also the bridge map is a total mess - I have never had one spawn flip on that one plus you can pretty much spawn trap an entire team of 20 right off the bat. Spawn killing is a nightmare on there also. It definitely needs more flanking routes too.
  17. Sick burn for the devs when their old poster boy says this
  18. Seems they’ve removed the extra setting that was in the beta. I’d take a punt and say that it is working in regards to inputs but console users have found a loophole of sorts as expected. Every PC game I’ve played has been locked to KBM either with fellow PC users or them using it on console.
  19. Double check your crossplay is restricted to inputs rather than unrestricted and if you’re joining a party leader, make sure they also have their settings set to restricted. I have a feeling those are console players using KBM and they’ve found a backdoor to cheat the input detection most likely.
  20. Kill confirmed is available but only in private matches apparently!? TDM is a nightmare - it's full of corner campers and crouch walkers! Another thing that I find strange is how after every match, the lobby is broken up and you can go from a completed game into one that's already ongoing - why not simply retain the lobby for the next match?
  21. Also, map control is way too easy and you can win so easily just by claiming certain power positions and holding them down - very prominent in 20v20+. It's boring as fuck but if you want an easy win, this is the way you can play. It's no fun whatsoever to play against though. In the likes of MW2 and BO for instance, you could play a variety of styles whereas in MW, rushing and being offensive can be punished too easily. COD is not a tactical or hardcore FPS by sheer design yet it plays like one here and that's why a lot of the fun and variety has been sucked out. It's a very conflicted design and the fact they didn't have the bollocks to take the minimap out kinda proves they aren't comfortable pushing this philosophy of the wider population yet they still want to hamstring them whilst bringing back a lot of negatives associated with MW2. If I play a way I don't want to play, I do really well but if I want to have fun and play a more livelier match as the maps are clearly intended by size, I get punished. I love they moved away from 3 lane by-design maps but it feels like they've just created overly-detailed environments rather than strategic maps to be enjoyed and open to a variety of playstyles here. Spawn trapping and killing is back too!
  22. That was debunked long ago. The only connection issues that affect games now are the 20hz servers and artificial ping values.
  23. Ubisoft CEO admits they blew it with Breakpoint | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM 'We were wrong in our assumptions.'
  24. Southampton 0-9 Leicester OMEGALUL
  25. It's been a bit of a mixed bag for me today. I have only played the multiplayer so far and I've noticed more problems than positives. It's the usual story - rain someone with bullets and they seemingly melt you in one. Put that down to the cheap-ass shitty servers. Some of the maps are really piss poor also - not many flow all that well and a lot encourage passive-defensive play. Spawns are terrible on some and I can't believe how many head-glitching and camping spots there are. The menu interface still looks and functions poorly and all the good gear is locked at higher levels so if you play against users who have got a head start, you may be in for a rough ride. The movement feels fluid, the visuals are good and the weapons are decent to use but I wouldn't say this game is all that enjoyable. It brings back a lot of issues from MW2 but doesn't have the fun factor that made that game so great and forgivable. I'll probably play a few more matches over the course of the weekend and then probably go through the campaign and spec ops.
