I say all of the below with full knowledge that I started the vast majority of the political threads in that sub forum. However, views change. TA > politics IMO. It was a mistake listening to the group when I posted that poll. Delete it, or I can. I told Lee this, but not the rest of you. I had some coworkers that were browsing the forums on my laptop a bit ago. That particular day, only political threads were going, they all 4 said no thanks. I put the forum on moderation after that, and it amuses me that no one noticed until today. (I get notices whenever people post there, I have been counting the days until someone posted there. 14 days.) I've grouped with a bunch of people on Warframe, Division, and Destiny 2. None have joined up here. Why? I have asked and was given non-committal answers. Politics have zero to do with gaming. Regardless of all the talk of us being a family. New people are NOT members of that family yet, they don't get us, they don't how we all talk to each other. Why turn off those potential new members with an entire forum dedicated to shit that, right now, makes people angry, and pushes them away? Seems counter to what Lee whats for this place. Rip off the broken limb and move on. None of this means that getting rid of that section will make the membership #'s for the site increase. However, at this point, no one can say it won't. Focus on the brand Lee wants us to have. Yes, adults can talk about whatever they want, but adults should also know that some things should be avoided when they don't have a place anymore.

https://www.pcmag.com/news/362488/sony-quietly-rolls-out-new-ps4-model If you go out and buy a PS4$381.95 at Amazon today, chances are the model number written on it will be some variation of CUH-2100. But in the coming weeks and months, that will change as Sony just rolled out a CUH-2200 model. PlayStation model number changes are made for different reasons, and the digit that changes signals the importance of the change. Major hardware revisions result in the first digit changing, which is why when the PS4 SlimBest Price at Amazon was rolled out Sony moved from model CUH-1XXX to CUH-2XXX. The last two digits vary based on which region of the world a console is intended for. As DualShockers reports, when the second digit in the model number changes it signals minor hardware tweaks, which is what this looks to be. CUH-2200 models have appeared listed on the Japanese online store with a 1TB Jet Black and 500GB Jet Black version both carrying the new model number. Eventually all markets will offer the CUH-2200 as Sony ships out new stock and stops making the CUH-2100 (this may have already happened). These new consoles are unchanged in terms of power use, weight, and dimensions, which suggests that Sony has tweaked the hardware inside for some reason. Typically this is done when they figure out a way to save money and reduce manufacturing costs. Any saving, however small, can make a huge difference when you're producing tens of millions of consoles every year. Don't expect Sony to mention the move to model CUH-2200 as there's no reason for it to be talked about publicly. It's also not worth waiting for the new model to be widespread before opting to purchase a PS4. The bigger question to ask is if you should be spending a bit more for a PS4 Pro

https://www.vg247.com/2018/07/16/destiny-2-forsaken-the-scorn-enemy-faction/ One of the most interesting additions coming to Destiny 2 with the Forsaken expansion is the new enemy faction: The Scorn. In the Destiny 2 lore, The Scorn are Fallen who have been reanimated. The Scorn don’t just look different from traditional Fallen, they also have completely new move sets. In a new video from Game Informer, Bungie explains that the intent was to make all the different Scorn types more aggressive than anything else in the game. One of the more interesting new enemy types is the Chieftain, who each spawn a different totem that comes with a different effect. The Solar totem spits out fire all around it, blocking your path, whereas the Void totem grants shields to nearby enemies. Similar to the Chieftain, the Barons – the game’s main villains whom you’ll be hunting down in the Forsaken campaign – each bring a particular gimmick to the fight. In case you missed it, the Game Informer cover story also provided some great new details, such as this look at all the nine new supers. For more on Forsaken, check out this story for everything we know so far. Destiny 2: Forsaken is out September 4 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

I love the tech his company creates. These last few episodes though, they remind me of someone that just went off their meds completely.

hit me up privately if they need help. I have been running tabletop games since the 90's, and I ran a massive LARP when I lived in Chicago. Multiple conventions as well. (Back when I played World of Darkness). A lot of beta testing and class writing over the years as well. Worldbuilding is probably my favorite hobby to be honest. I am cooking up a Post-apoc style game right now for when this current Pathfinder game is over. The PA game will be sort of Fallout/ division, sort of Warhammer 40K, sort of steampunk. I started working on it about a year ago, hopefully I can be ready to run soon. One day I will get to be a player again. 😥

It really comes down to the person that runs the game. some things are honestly not worth tracking as a GM. Item Damage and Encumbrance are the two main ones that spring to mind for me. I don't track them, and I never will. Games for me tend to be more about common sense. Players know damn well they cant loot every corpse on the field etc....

yea mending can read as a great spell. In older versions it doesn't fix everything though, they may have changed it for 5th ed. does Repair still exist as a spell? that might be a different game system, but i want to say there were 2 versions of mending Not going to lie in all of my years of playing/ running (30 now, sadly), I have never had a player use it. Prestidigitation is an amazing spell though, and one that is seriously OP for its level. There are a ton of other threads out there on things you can do with the spell

I changed the theme of the site on accident. I was messing around with some settings, and was attempting to make a new theme based off of some feedback I had at work here from potential members. I ended up deleteing what I was working on, and then I guess that changed the default somehow. IDK I wont mess with that section again 🤔 -

Mark Darrah, executive producer of Anthem, has been busy on Twitter answering players' questions about BioWare's upcoming RPG. Many of the questions are answered with information we already learned about the game during E3 2018, but there are a few new tidbits of information hidden in the horde of tweets. Lots of players wanted to know about loadouts, and Darrah had plenty of information to share. Players will have the option to save multiple custom Javelin loadouts. They won't be able to switch between them during combat, like players could in Mass Effect: Andromeda, but at least they won't have to reallocate weapons and equipment between each mission. Once you find a certain loadout that works, you'll be able to save it before trying something else. Speaking of the weapons, equipment, and other rewards that players will find while exploring, Darrah offered further insight into how item acquisition would work. The level of dropped gear will be based on Freelancer level so you'll be able to switch up Javelins easily throughout the game. That loot will bias towards whichever Javelin you're wearing at the time, but players will find rewards for every Javelin while playing. Not all rewards are unlocked via combat or mission completion either. Some are found through exploration. Darrah even hinted that some might be located underwater. There won't be item trading between players at launch though. Here's a few other details that stood out to us: Even if you're not in a group with them, other players can still interact with you. Strangers will even be able to revive you if they happen to run across you after you've fallen in combat. There will be no aerial fights against rival Javelins in Anthem. Sadly, you'll have to abandon your dreams of power suit dog fights. No friendly fire. For now anyway. The team might change their mind by launch. The Scars aren't technically alien, but they're not exactly human either. You'll be able to upgrade Javelin's flight time if you want to explore further and faster. You can't change your Javelin mid-mission. We imagine this means that if you run out of charge on the Javelin you've chosen for a particular mission, you'll fail. Javelins cannot be permanently destroyed. Whew. No post-launch plans yet, but Darrah isn't opposed to the possibility of a melee-based Javelin or implementing interchangeable melee weapons for the four current Javelins. Anthem will feature a color-blind mode. You can respec your Freelancer's skills. No plans for cross-play between console and PC at launch. Missions are specifically designed for four players, even if Anthem can be played one to four. There is fall damage so be careful when landing. All Javelins have the same movement speed outside of combat. Each Javelin is unlocked by doing a mission; players can choose the order. Darrah and his team are continuing to answer questions about Anthem up to the game's release. They won't answer anything that might spoil the game, so feel free to ask away if you have any nagging questions. Anthem will launch on February 22 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Should it have Multiplayer?
Sennex replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in RPG / Action / Adventure
you do realize that there are more single player games coming out, than multiplayer, right? As is the case every year. Take a look at the video game awards for the last few years, out of like 20 (23 i think) categories, multiplayer only win in 3 on average. Best sports, Best Multiplayer, and Best Ongoing (Although this one changes every year) Regardless of the above, CDPR has a multiplayer game called Gwent, its a card game based off of a game in Witcher 3. I expect something similar to that.- 6 replies

I know a lot of folks are done with this game, but my boy and I still play it a lot, and this was news today so here: https://www.pcgamer.com/mod-adds-cybernetic-implants-to-fallout-4/ Cybernetic implants come to Fallout 4 in this new mod Fancy playing Fallout 4 with puncture-resistant lungs, armour built into your skin and hard-wired reflexes? Then you might be into a new mod that adds cybernetic implants to the RPG. It looks impressively fleshed out, and could meaningfully change the way you play. RD-Technologies Cybernetic Implants doesn't just give you special powers right off the bat: it's designed to be something of a treasure hunt in which you first buy modules from traders, track down blueprints for the implants and then find the ingredients you need to craft them. There are three modules that you can plug implants into—body, limb and brain. The mod's creator Raven Damara says they want to encourage exploration, so you can't see a full list of implants, nor the locations of the blueprints. But some of the screenshots on its Nexus page show options for the body module, which include a "tissue regeneration matrix", "wired reflexes", "dermal plating" and "puncture-resistant lungs". The mod includes more than 50 implants, which should give plenty of customisation options, and you can also kit out your followers, too. Raven Damara plans to give implants to NPCs in future updates, which should boost enemy variety. They recommend playing in Survival Mode to avoid becoming too bullet sponge-y. --------------------------- This all reminds me of Shadowrun, so I hope it comes to the PS4 at some point. Sadly it most likely wont, so i will end up getting an Xbox one for it.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/06/24/nintendo-talks-about-the-six-big-switch-games-missing-from-e3-2018 Nintendo's E3 2018 showing was brimming with amazing games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Pokemon Let's Go. However, there were a handful of notable franchises that were nowhere to be found during the show. Everything from Metroid Prime 4 to Yoshi, and even Animal Crossing to Mother 3 — many of us have been left wondering where some of Nintendo's most iconic titles have been. With that being said, we did a little digging ourselves and reached out to Nintendo to find out the fate of some of our favorite franchises. Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon 2019 Speaking with IGN, Nintendo’s Senior Product Marketing Manager, Bill Trinen, revealed that Nintendo wanted to focus on a shorter window this year rather than showing off some of last year’s big surprises like Metroid Prime 4 and the upcoming core Pokemon RPG. “There was other stuff that we probably could have included in E3, but is probably a bit further out, and so we decided to really kind of keep the focus a little bit more on between now and early 2019, which I think you saw some hints of there with a couple of games,” Trinen told IGN. “We want to show stuff when we think it's ready to show. Obviously, it's not like we've stopped working on any of the things we talked about last year, that stuff's all being worked on,” Trinen added. “We'll just show stuff when we're ready to show it and really, right now, the focus is on two big games in the form of Smash and Pokemon [Let’s Go Eevee and Let’s Go Pikachu].” Mother 3 “When we have something to announce, we will,” Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told IGN at E3. “Fill in the blank of your favorite franchise. Our mentality will be we'll announce information close to its launch date versus teasing people for years on end.” Fils-Aime responded similarly to a potential Western release for Mother 3, a game we’ve been asking him about for the last several years. “Again, we know, I know there's a fan base for that title. All I could say is we're aware,” he explained. “It's something that we always think about in terms of where there are opportunities to reintroduce IP to fans, to do it in a way that builds new fans, we're certainly aware. No promises, no commitments one way or the other, but we're aware.” Animal Crossing Fils-Aime said that the success of Animal Crossing Pocket Camp bodes well for the success of the eventual next installment in that franchise. Nintendo Switch / 24 Jun 2018 Nintendo Talks About the Six Big Switch Games Missing From E3 2018 Share. Metroid Prime 4, Pokemon, Mother 3, Animal Crossing, Yoshi, and Star Fox. Tremendous interaction with Pocket Camp," he said. "Fans are really enjoying that experience. We're introducing it to new consumers. That bodes well for whenever the next Animal Crossing might come." Yoshi Nintendo confirmed that Yoshi for Switch is still in development, though has been delayed to next year. Nintendo's website now lists Yoshi as a 2019 release. "It's actually been making really good progress. They decided they wanted to make some improvements, so they're going to take just a little bit more time on it and that's why we're not showing it this year at the show," Trinen told IGN, "But I think you can look forward to some updates on it later in 2018." Initially announced at E3 2017, Nintendo showed off an extensive demo featuring a brand new cardboard aesthetic. At the time, Yoshi was planned for a 2018 release, though now we know that we'll most likely see it sometime next year. Preorders for Yoshi are still open on Amazon. Star Fox Despite no announcement of an official reprisal for the franchise — be it the rumored Star Fox Grand Prix or something entirely new — Ubisoft revealed during their E3 conference that Star Fox will be a playable character in the Switch version of their new open-world space adventure game, Starlink: Battle for Atlas. The Switch version will come included with an exclusive version of an Arwing fighter and will feature story missions exclusive to Star Fox, which Ubisoft claims will fit nicely within the lore of Starlink.

Probably the most hated mechanic in the game. Bungie finally addressing this shit in forsaken. Why was it in the game to begin with? https://gamerant.com/destiny-2-juggler-forsaken/ Destiny 2’s upcoming Forsaken expansion will bring several major changes to the popular shooter, and it seems that one hated mechanic may be changed alongside the launch of the expansion. Destiny 2’s hidden ammo juggler mechanic is almost universally disliked by most of the community, but the mechanic will be changing when Forsaken launches this September. In an interview with FPS News, Forsaken Project Lead Scott Taylor confirmed that there would be some change to the ammo juggler mechanic with Forsaken. The hidden mechanic has been frustrating fans since the launch of Destiny 2, and one fan even did the math to prove that the mechanic was in the game. While there are no details on what the change will be, or if it will be outright removed, Taylor did say that Bungie will be talking more about that change over the summer. The change is likely due to a combination of factors, namely fan frustration and the upcoming new weapon system. The new weapon system allows players to equip weapon types in almost every slot, so it would not mesh well with the hidden juggler mechanic. Currently, if players have a kinetic weapon equipped, kinetic ammo would drop less frequently than energy and power ammo would. This applies to the other two ammo types as well but since the system is changing with the weapon slots, Bungie has to do something about the juggler mechanic. The interview also discussed the tone shift that is coming with the new expansion, as well as the shocking death from the E3 story trailer. Taylor emphasized the desire for the team to create a western-themed expansion, and how revenge should be the primary motivator for players. Taylor also discussed the new PvPvE game mode, Gambit, which pits players against one other in a race to kill the final boss. It’s good to hear that this aggravating mechanic is being reworked, or removed, with Forsaken. Fans have been frustrated with this mechanic since the game launched, so surely many will be happy to see it gone.

Mw3 was killed for me by the campaign ending and the hacked lobbies that started about week 2 over here. I jumped over to BF3 at the time, with their dedicated servers and just had so much more fun.
