    New Xbone?

https://www.engadget.com/2018/07/18/microsoft-new-xbox-hardware-gamescom/ Microsoft promises 'all-new Xbox hardware' next month (updated) Don't get your hopes up for an Xbox Two. Microsoft is bringing new Xbox hardware to Germany next month for Gamescom. The news comes from Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, who teased "all-new Xbox hardware and accessories" in a blog post this morning. What could it be? Well, there have been rumors (and leaked images) surrounding a revised Elite controller with three-way hair-trigger locks, tension control for thumbsticks, a magnetic USB-C connector and new grips since January, which makes it a good candidate. The last Elite controller was released in 2015. Or, it could be a new SKU of the Xbox One. While it'd be nice to get a One X with more than 1TB of onboard storage, it's more likely that Microsoft will show off an even cheaper One S instead. The previous model was released almost two years ago to fanfare from critics and players thanks to its svelte design and better performance. Now that 4K TVs with HDR are becoming more commonplace, the value proposition for the One S is a lot more tangible. A lower price could make it even more attractive for first-time buyers -- a market Microsoft would be keen to exploit given the Xbox One's current position in the console landscape. Whatever happens, we don't have to wait too long to find out. Gamescom begins August 21st, with Microsoft's opening keynote scheduled for 10:30 AM Eastern the same day. The event will be livestreamed, and we'll be on the ground covering the biggest news and coolest games all week long. Update: Microsoft is backtracking on this announcement. Hryb tweeted that the wording in his original post ("all-new hardware and accessories") was inaccurate, saying that Microsoft would instead have "bundle and accessory news" to share in Germany instead.

I don't mind Far Cry 5, as other than the arcade mini-game, you can play the whole thing offline without an issue. (Its how I play it) Watchdogs 2 was the one that gave me issue when it came to offline play though. They eventually fixed a lot of it, but still, it wasn't as enjoyable as it should have been. Skyrim and Fallout 4 have their issues as well with always on connectivity because of the modding and creation lab crap. GoW, and HZD were both amazing though. Also Witcher 3 was just perfect.
  3. Phil deleted it himself
  4. I didn't moderate it. give me a second here
  5. Yea, i have a really hard time dealing with players that don't pay attention. Unless they are kids, I cut kids a lot of slack. I ran a game for a coworker, his wife, their daughter, and my wife. The daughter was 14, all she wanted to do was play Table Top WoW. She had absolutely zero interest in a 3 way civil war wrapped around slavery and religious persecution. Which makes total sense, I helped her roll a night elf hunter (Ranger) and have a huge panther as a mount. She frequently lied about her dice rolls and never paid attention. As the GM I just recorded half damage for her, pretty much always, and had all the important NPC's ignore her moire ridiculous actions. The game was a lot of fun, but it didn't last, as my coworker ended up getting fired.
  6. Yea, thats about what I was thinking as well. I need to find some roms next and start burning them.
  7. A game store near me sells old systems, most are rebuilt by the owner. He is selling a few Dreamcasts for $70, and I was thinking of getting one. I was curious what you all have seen out there as far as refurbed pricing for one.
  8. Especially with the power curve that is built into the game. Once a character hits between 8-12, there isn't a lot they can't do.
  9. I didn't approve it. You should have gotten a message from me when I denied it, thats how that is set up. If not, then I apologize, I should have tested that more before turning it on. While it might have been tongue in cheek, you specifically mentioned 2 other members, and their need for a "safe space". Some might take it as funny, but the two mentioned could very easily have claimed you were personally attacking them. The only person I am okay with being personally attacked here is myself. Honestly, this is a great example of why that forum is a bad idea. No one is going to get their jimmies rustled if you tell them their opinion is wrong about Destiny 2 or Cod. We can poke fun at each other all day every day, and the entire forum (for the most part) will get involved. As soon as it switches over to politics, everyone's ass gets super sensitive. Lets take a look at member #'s as well. We have roughly 4 people that post there, 2 of which almost exclusively post there and no where else. In the last 24 hours, we had 25 people online, 3 of those were people that posted there occasionally, one of those 3 is actively removing his posts. There is also an argument for that forum driving people away (Granted in my opinion, 2 of them should have never been part of what I consider our family here to actually consist of, but that's not my call).
  10. I have run many games over skype, icq, web forum, and a few other platforms. Personally I dislike them. My wife plays very seriously, and as a GM I enjoy that. We have our silly moments, but they are few and far between. The games I have run for her are far more political intrigue and investigative, than combat. Your experience with a new group is my experience with most all groups over the last several decades. Its hard finding a good group that isn't built up person by person to ensure a good fit.

The more I watch these new consoles and the shitty life cycles, the more I am going to start treating them the same way I treat games now. Wait for it to be at the end of the life cycle, buy a greatest hits machine and call it a win. The last 3 Nintendo consoles have really burnt me out, not to mention how many shit games have I paid $60+ for, only to absolutely ignore after a week. I just don't have the time or energy anymore to spend top dollar on these things. I figure next year I will be able to pick up an Xbone for cheap, and then stock up on the titles I missed out on for the last few years. /patientgaming FTW
  16. The lack of posting on a regular basis leads me to believe that honestly no one would. If anyone wants to start a site up called "forever politics", I will happily join and talk shit.
  17. I say all of the below with full knowledge that I started the vast majority of the political threads in that sub forum. However, views change. TA > politics IMO. It was a mistake listening to the group when I posted that poll. Delete it, or I can. I told Lee this, but not the rest of you. I had some coworkers that were browsing the forums on my laptop a bit ago. That particular day, only political threads were going, they all 4 said no thanks. I put the forum on moderation after that, and it amuses me that no one noticed until today. (I get notices whenever people post there, I have been counting the days until someone posted there. 14 days.) I've grouped with a bunch of people on Warframe, Division, and Destiny 2. None have joined up here. Why? I have asked and was given non-committal answers. Politics have zero to do with gaming. Regardless of all the talk of us being a family. New people are NOT members of that family yet, they don't get us, they don't how we all talk to each other. Why turn off those potential new members with an entire forum dedicated to shit that, right now, makes people angry, and pushes them away? Seems counter to what Lee whats for this place. Rip off the broken limb and move on. None of this means that getting rid of that section will make the membership #'s for the site increase. However, at this point, no one can say it won't. Focus on the brand Lee wants us to have. Yes, adults can talk about whatever they want, but adults should also know that some things should be avoided when they don't have a place anymore.

    New PS4 model

https://www.pcmag.com/news/362488/sony-quietly-rolls-out-new-ps4-model If you go out and buy a PS4$381.95 at Amazon today, chances are the model number written on it will be some variation of CUH-2100. But in the coming weeks and months, that will change as Sony just rolled out a CUH-2200 model. PlayStation model number changes are made for different reasons, and the digit that changes signals the importance of the change. Major hardware revisions result in the first digit changing, which is why when the PS4 SlimBest Price at Amazon was rolled out Sony moved from model CUH-1XXX to CUH-2XXX. The last two digits vary based on which region of the world a console is intended for. As DualShockers reports, when the second digit in the model number changes it signals minor hardware tweaks, which is what this looks to be. CUH-2200 models have appeared listed on the Japanese online store with a 1TB Jet Black and 500GB Jet Black version both carrying the new model number. Eventually all markets will offer the CUH-2200 as Sony ships out new stock and stops making the CUH-2100 (this may have already happened). These new consoles are unchanged in terms of power use, weight, and dimensions, which suggests that Sony has tweaked the hardware inside for some reason. Typically this is done when they figure out a way to save money and reduce manufacturing costs. Any saving, however small, can make a huge difference when you're producing tens of millions of consoles every year. Don't expect Sony to mention the move to model CUH-2200 as there's no reason for it to be talked about publicly. It's also not worth waiting for the new model to be widespread before opting to purchase a PS4. The bigger question to ask is if you should be spending a bit more for a PS4 Pro
  19. https://www.vg247.com/2018/07/16/destiny-2-forsaken-the-scorn-enemy-faction/ One of the most interesting additions coming to Destiny 2 with the Forsaken expansion is the new enemy faction: The Scorn. In the Destiny 2 lore, The Scorn are Fallen who have been reanimated. The Scorn don’t just look different from traditional Fallen, they also have completely new move sets. In a new video from Game Informer, Bungie explains that the intent was to make all the different Scorn types more aggressive than anything else in the game. One of the more interesting new enemy types is the Chieftain, who each spawn a different totem that comes with a different effect. The Solar totem spits out fire all around it, blocking your path, whereas the Void totem grants shields to nearby enemies. Similar to the Chieftain, the Barons – the game’s main villains whom you’ll be hunting down in the Forsaken campaign – each bring a particular gimmick to the fight. In case you missed it, the Game Informer cover story also provided some great new details, such as this look at all the nine new supers. For more on Forsaken, check out this story for everything we know so far. Destiny 2: Forsaken is out September 4 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
  20. https://www.ajax.nl/streams/actueel/ajax-en-manchester-united-bereiken-overeenstemming-over-daley-blind.htm Ajax and Manchester United reach agreement on Daley Blind Ajax and Manchester United FC have reached agreement on the transfer of Daley Blind. 21. I love the tech his company creates. These last few episodes though, they remind me of someone that just went off their meds completely.
  22. hit me up privately if they need help. I have been running tabletop games since the 90's, and I ran a massive LARP when I lived in Chicago. Multiple conventions as well. (Back when I played World of Darkness). A lot of beta testing and class writing over the years as well. Worldbuilding is probably my favorite hobby to be honest. I am cooking up a Post-apoc style game right now for when this current Pathfinder game is over. The PA game will be sort of Fallout/ division, sort of Warhammer 40K, sort of steampunk. I started working on it about a year ago, hopefully I can be ready to run soon. One day I will get to be a player again. 😥
  23. It really comes down to the person that runs the game. some things are honestly not worth tracking as a GM. Item Damage and Encumbrance are the two main ones that spring to mind for me. I don't track them, and I never will. Games for me tend to be more about common sense. Players know damn well they cant loot every corpse on the field etc....
  24. yea mending can read as a great spell. In older versions it doesn't fix everything though, they may have changed it for 5th ed. does Repair still exist as a spell? that might be a different game system, but i want to say there were 2 versions of mending Not going to lie in all of my years of playing/ running (30 now, sadly), I have never had a player use it. Prestidigitation is an amazing spell though, and one that is seriously OP for its level. There are a ton of other threads out there on things you can do with the spell
  25. sorcerer's can heal?
