  1. I think Phil does win the award of "most punted off road" 😂😂 "I'd like to thank Mike, most of all, for his incredible determination to get in my fucking way, t-bone me, and cause me problems. Without that lunatic I wouldn't be here winning this award, thanks Mike." Then the camera would cut to me and I'd be clapping with a tear rolling down my face
  2. Another week of great battles, banter and racing all round. Enjoyed close racing with everyone!
  3. On more reflection I could probably stretch to £1400 if required. It sounds like the real problem is the availability or extortionate cost of video cards at the moment! I'm all sorted for keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.
  4. What kind of money do I need to be spending to get to a higher res do you think?
  5. I've been thinking about getting a budget gaming PC for a while which for the most part will be used for website related stuff, but it'd be nice to play some games too, including some of the more modern titles and racing sims if at all possible. Main considerations: - I have a 32" IPS monitor thingy which isn't 4k but it's 1440 I think? I can check on that... - Budget: no more than £800 or below £1000 at a stretch - I have a display port connection free on the back of the monitor so a video card with that on would be nice, unless HDMI is the only way forward with gaming? I don't know. I could swap connections about if required. - I don't mind building the PC, and a pre built one would be ideal, but I'm not fussed - As much bang for buck really, ideally 16gb of relatively decent RAM, OK processor and vid card if at all possible. So I could do with some help from savvy UK people on this one. I used to build PCs all the time so I had a really good handle over hardware requirements but things have moved on, to the point where Intel aren't necessarily the only choice these days? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  6. I just wonder if the system is already there to slow people down for punting people off, it might be worth using, rather than adding extra admin after races? Happy either way
  7. Just as talked about on WhatsApp, is there a difference in rules, do we need to be more strict about giving a place back if you ram someone off, or do we implement the slow down zones like in the daily races?
  8. I think still do that Le Mans track then but during the day in Gr. 2 or 3 in that case. Happy with Red Bull Ring or Tokyo again in the wet, it just adds that extra bit of fun. I really enjoyed that wet Tokyo race!
  9. Circuit de la Sarthe GR. 3 or GR. 2 Weather: Rain Time of day: Late or night if possible? 8 laps with 1 pitstop (wets with enough tyre wear) Thoughts?
  10. Nice one @slamminbones for your first podium. I was desperate to try and catch up and getting punted about a bit early in the race but just ran out of laps. Felt like I had some good racing again last night and hitting the podiums which is great. Really enjoyed the racing with Kiwi and starting to try and stick my elbows out a bit more to try and win places back. We've still got some new racers so it's reasonable to assume that people will be ploughing through a pile of cars in first corner/s. It takes a bit of time to understand the difference in stopping times against variables such as drag reduction and tire wear. It's great to see everyone picking up speed though and providing some competition throughout the field. I'm still really enjoying the reverse grids because it creates a good and different dynamic to the second and third races and provides I think more entertainment and challenges for everyone, and should hopefully help to bring all the new racers up to speed a bit quicker as they'll do more defending. Great to see so many people turning up as well!!
  11. Also as said by Ken Leeeiiighhh, can we do more grid starts, maybe a grid start for the reverse grid?
  12. Can I make a suggestion on race format? Reverse grids: Can we make one of the races each week a reverse grid, maybe the first race on Tuesday nights? Maybe that would enable those who aren't on as much or haven't been able to practice to at least start from the front or close to? That would also give a challenge for the rest of us to try and go through the field cleanly, unless you're me of course.
  13. I've gone with @Stretch616 because of his rate of improvement in a short space of time. 👍👍
  14. I think Lurch was great last night, really quick!
  15. I'm in the same boat mate, I don't fancy losing places now I've got to a certain level haha!
  16. You won't win the race in the first corner. Aim to stay out of trouble in the first corner, pick a clean line and allow other drivers to make mistakes. This is particularly relevant in the public online modes.
  17. Watch out for early braking. If you're in someone's slipstream and you're approaching a braking point, consider that you'll already be carrying more speed than the person in front, and that person my not brake as late as you. Sometimes it's best to lift off slightly before the braking point if you don't intend on overtaking the person in front, and instead aim to take the corner cleanly so you get a good run out of the corner.
  18. I may also give this a try and map the buttons to X And [ ] It's remarkably easy in real life because I'm fine with putting my car into manual mode and using the paddles but in the game there's so much more to contend with and things are happening much faster.
  19. I'm very much up for this, and we would need to make sure that we have enough available manufacturers for each class. I would also note that some manufacturers have better suited or stronger cars, for example Peugeot have the RCZ in both Gr.3 and Gr.4 and both are strong cars. How can we ensure that there is a fair distribution of cars, or do we give Greebs the shit ones? Just a thought. When Greebs eventually wins this, do we have sufficient levels of anti-smug available in reserve stock? What are the rules for smashing into people? Asking for a friend.
  20. Instructions on adding it to your car: 1: Download the logo using the link provided by Greebs above and saved to a folder on your PC where you can locate it later. 2: Navigate to the Gran Turismo website using the following link: gran-turismo.com WWW.GRAN-TURISMO.COM Gran Turismo Official Website 3: Click on "GT Sport Community" (top right corner) and then on the next page hit "Sign In" You'll then need to log on to your PSN account login details. 4: Next, navigate to the Decal Uploader or use the following link: Community | Gran Turismo Sport - gran-turismo.com WWW.GRAN-TURISMO.COM View your GT Sport 5: Upload the .svg file. 6: Now when you go to add a new Decal you'll be able to select your decal from "User Decals".
  21. Good shout, and I did indeed do that too. My current chair has a very low back, no lumbar support and it's like sitting on a wooden board so hopefully that should also help! Thanks mate
  22. I can't believe I didn't think of doing that. I'll give it a go with a laptop stand first and see how I get on. Thanks!
  23. I'm getting a bad back whilst using my laptop sat at my desk so I've decided to get a small PC and connect it to my 42" 4K TV. I figured if I'm not leaning over a laptop i'll fare a little better. I wanted to ask if anyone can suggest the cheapest way possible for me to get a desktop PC which has reasonable spec and will do the following: - Have HDMI out and cope with a 4k resolution - Can run photoshop / office applications, normal stuff - Being able to play some old games like CS:GO or BFME2 etc would be great but not really necessary. I have a pretty low budget, around £300, which isn't going to buy much but I want to get as much as possible for my money. Could anyone help me search for something sufficient for my needs? I'm hitting a blank on Amazon at the moment.
