  1. Here allow me to help get your mind off of this....... . . . . . .
  2. Honestly IMO I think it is something we all knew went on but never wanted to acknowledge.
  3. I did not miss that....I never said I was just referring to this most recent instance which mostly is from the Bush administration. Terrorism and "enhanced techniques" were both alive and well long before 9/11. These ones they are making public are just from the most recent issues of the direct results of post 9/11. I am simply saying that you can not tell me there has never been an instance where it has not gained us some useful info at some point in time which may or may not have helped prevent the lose of American lives, which includes pre 9/11 time frame. You don't have to try to prove me wrong, because IMO there is no right / wrong here because this is just a matter of how we each view things. And I personally feel that we have no possible way of knowing 100% for sure if since these practices were first started to be used (50's?, 60's? 70's? 80's? when was the first documented terrorist attack?) We have no way of knowing 100% if there ever was any useful info gained or not. That is all I am saying.
  4. Obviously I don't have time to read 525 pages Sennex, and I'm sure there are times were it did not lead to any useful info. And being lied to by our Gov is common knowledge I think everyone knows their Gov lies to them lol.. but personally I fail to believe it has never lead to any useful info at all. I personally believe in the theory of "greater good" and if there is a chance that useful info could come from it then it's one of those things I accept. Just my beliefs, you don't have to agree with me at all.
  5. Enhanced interrogation, torture, whatever you want to label it is nothing new. It has been going on since the first tribes of man started fighting a long time ago. Is it 'right"? no, on a human level it is not right. But no one here can honestly say weather or not it has yielded information that has prevented another terrorist attack or the loss of innocent lives. To say that it does not provide useful intel is simply something no one can say with any certainty at all because we have no clue what info it has given. So even though I don't feel it is right, it does fall into that area of things where it may be a necessary evil. Because we all know that there are things done by our Government which are preformed by a select group that helps to keep our Country and way of life safe.
  6. RC cars are ran everywhere around here. I use to run mine on my street as a kid and that was not a culdesac. There's a high school just down the street from me which is right next to a four lane main road and quite often there is a guy or two with a nirtro monster truck and even one guy with a badass helicopter in the field next to the high school right by the road. So I can't agree that it's different for other forms of RC because they are ran in places all over if you look around. It's just a common sense thing. We have let society completely dumb down and those dumb people are breeding more dumb people and common sense has gone out the window. A license is not the answer IMO, but a minimum age would be good. It won't stop kids from flying them but at least that way the parents can be held accountable when the kid hurts someone.
  7. No reason for them to be illegal. If they were made illegal then you'd have to make all forms of RC illegal. RC cars can lose radio transmission and run out onto public roadways causing an accident, RC planes are more dangerous than the drones because they have much studier and faster spinning props and fly 100+mph, RC boats have super high rpm metal props and can do serious damage if they hit you. The thing is there will always be a small portion of the population that does stupid things with a product but that's no reason to punish everyone just because of the minority. If we passed laws making things that people can do stupid things with illegal then we'd be nothing but a nation of people sitting on our hands doing nothing, because some people will do stupid things with just about anything.
  8. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Looking forward to spending Christmas together with the family like always. Actually headed to the local theater with the family tonight for my birthday to see a stage production of A Christmas Carol
  9. I wouldn't say the picture with the Eagle is irresponsible at all. If the guy was doing it on purpose and flying close to the bird then it would be, but back in the 80's when I was into RC planes we use to have hawks come and actually fly right next to our planes on purpose, sometimes they would even hit them and shred the body coverings. Hawks and other birds are inquisitive about other things that are flying and they will come over and check out what it is most times. And since they are so agile and fast there's not a lot you can do other that just keep flying and try to avoid them. So more than likely that bird in the pic just flew over and was checking the drone out without the pilot trying to do much other than fly.
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOoB8aS7DCs I enjoy Christmas music at this time of year. It brings memories of friends, family, and a time of year when people are at least a tad nicer than normal so what's not to like.
  11. Pretty much my thoughts as well. Personally I moved on years ago and am happy with my life the way it is. Probably just gonna leave her in the past and do what I always do, which is fish
  12. LOL Jay that is fuckin great lol.
  13. Well update... She & I have been talking through facebook the past few weeks. We finally exchanged phone# last night again, we spoke tonight. Here's the big thing that blew my friggin mind. After 1hr of talking tonight on the phone, she told me how (and I quote...the worst thing she ever did was break up with me)... No shit that was her exact words lol. She told me this with tears in her eyes, and that's after 20 yrs. That on one hand is scary lol and yet the other was nice to hear. I dunno. I'm lost still...
  14. Well I went ahead and just ordered the Sony one from Best Buy, gonna go pick it up in a bit. Hopefully it's as good as it looks to be.
  15. I'd say he's more of a casual listener than anything else. I know he is a bit picky about some things though and anytime he buys himself any new electronic device he always spends a lot of time reading reviews and doing research. So I'd say he's somewhere between casual listener and picky. I've always liked Sony for my own personal audio equipment. Never had a Sony MP3 Player but I do have two Sony surround sound systems and love them. I'm not totally dead set on it having to be Sony for his MP3 player though. I do need to keep the cost at $75 or less since I already have him many other items. And it has to be 16GB size too since I think that's what his old one was.
  16. Looking at a new MP3 player for my Nephew for Christmas because his he's had for 10 yrs is dying on him. He's like I am and not a fan of anything Apple so I'm searching for non Apple (no Ipod) mp3 players. I myself just have a cheap old one so I don;t know a ton about them but I found this Sony 16gb one which seems like it has a lot of nice features on sale at Best Buy. You guys mind taking a look at this and seeing what you think about it for me http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-nwz-e380-series-walkman-16gb-video-mp3-player-black/1695481.p?id=1219060667469&skuId=1695481
  17. Picked up two new Koi for my pond today. They are in a tank inside till next spring for the time being.
  18. Just bought this little guy for my Niece for Christmas. She's been wanting one for the past 2 years so I finally broke down and got one today for her.
  19. I actually liked Skyfall better than the previous ones myself.
  20. That's cool. I think it was Thunderball when Spectre first showed up in the Bond movies. I wonder if they will reprise the role of Blofeld.
  21. Right now just a bit bigger heli that is 22" long (electric of course) but it's a 3.5ch which would be better than this 2ch. It's cheap too, only like $25 or so.
  22. Outside of the little RC helicopter I bought for myself the other day I haven't really bought much lately except for Christmas gifts for the family, and I don't think pics of Pandora charms, cookie jars and snowbaby figures would interest you guys much lol I am looking at another Rc heli for myself though, so I may buy another new one soon.
  23. It's s Haier 32" Dave, the wall mount covers the tag on the back so I can't see the model# of it but I'm pretty sure it is the same as this one here http://www.hhgregg.com/haier-32-720p-led-hdtv/item/32D2000
  24. I dunno why I was thinking it was 720, I get kind'a lost with all the TV tech stuff. So when I watch it on non HD channels is that watching it in 720 or is that still 1080?
