So I have mentioned a few times I am a big fan of JRPGS, the second half of last year saw a number of big titles be released and I opted to pick up more multiplayer titles for FG. As hardly anyone is ever on here I won't be doing that again for a while. We also have some big single player games coming out this year hopefully!
So I have begun this year with Visions of Mana and what a game it has been so far. For anyone that played the original Secret of Mana back on the Snes you have a little idea of what to expect here. However it is very much creating it's own identity, it's a big open world which is always difficult these day's as it is finding time to sink into it. But it is colourful and brilliant to look at, the enemies are reminescent of something out of Dragon Quest and the combat is quite fluid.
Then the bit that has me a little more excited is the story, this has begun as a story of Square of old, some unexpected twists and turns, a great big adventure, character development as they deal with decisions made or problems created. The characters are great and the class system is really good. I think if anyone here has ever had an inkling to play a JRPG in recent years this one is definately worth a look. Moreso over the likes of the Final Fantasy remakes and such I feel.
