    The King's new throne!

Been wanting a nail head style reading chair for the office section of the man cave for quite a while now but the $400-$500 price tags are just way too much for me. Well it pats to stop at yard sales. I was out this morning at a local block sale and had to do a double take when I saw this perfect shape nail head all leather chair for only $60. I offered the lady $50 and she said no problem. It was only used as decor in a music room in her home and never even really sat in much. Couldn't be anymore perfect for the office/shop/man cave if it tried!

    Buying a Car

Good bit of advice: If you are looking for a car purchase try going in at the end of the month. If the dealer hasnt hit sales targets they will be doing anything to secure a sale and with a bit of haggling you can knock off a fair bit of money or get a lot of options thrown in for free. Ive just recently helped my mum purchase a new Audi A1 Sport and by going in on the last day of the month we managed to get a car with lots of extras/upgrades, that should be around 21grand for just over 18grand. Make sure you go in there prepared. Ring up a number of other dealers and just see what they can do in terms of price and then play them off against one another. Be prepared to walk away if you arent completely satisfied. In terms of paying in cash, im still a firm believer in what my old man says to me with the whole 'cash is king'. For a smaller dealership they will much rather prefer a cash deal as they have your money there and then. Bigger dealers have less interest in cash because like the others have said they will prefer to have your name down on a finance deal, but again it can literally depend on the dealer and sales advisor on the day.

    Buying a Car

Companies love when you finance because like Doc said they get extra money. 10% extra compounded over 4 years means you paid approximately an extra 30% for the car that you didn't have too. So it's a much better deal for them. The best way to approach it (around her in Canada anyways), is to go to the dealership and negotiate the prices as if you are going to finance it. I Canada they are not allowed to change the prices based on you financing/not financing. Once you have a really good price, they change you financing options. Even if it's paying cash. Chances are you'll get a better price doing that because 1) they expect to profit from financing 2) they figure you can afford more because you are paying cash and therefore have the money I usually discuss the trade along with the car price. Mostly because the can profit from selling that car. There should be sites and information telling you what the car is worth and what they can sell it for. In Canada you are not taxed on the portion of the price for which you have a trade in so you may need to factor that in. So for example if they give 5000 pounds for your car you would be taxed on 8668 and not 13668 which can make a big difference. Here the taxes are 13% so that's an additional savings of 650.

There is no advantage (price-wise) in paying cash. The dealership would actually prefer you to finance it, as they get a kickback from the financing company when you go through them. Does Scotland have anything like truecar.com that lets you see what others are paying for the car? Edmunds.com?

  6. I mentioned in my rant about catering to younger audience and dlc etc that seemed aimed at children, then made a point that it is in fact a 16 rated game probably 18 elsewhere in the world...

  7. When I do it; I'll just say; SACK INFINITY WARD! I'm pleased with what Treyarch have done for the franchise and I have high hopes of Sledgehammer but I don't know what the fuck IW were thinking with Ghosts. As if the core game wasn't bad enough, the DLC has gone beyond barmy. The game has somewhat killed the COD identity and as a fan of COD since day one before it hit mainstream; I just feel they've dumbed it down to the easily pleased and younger gamers. There is nothing in the game that oozes the image or spirit of what Call of Duty is about and it's become in my eyes this commercialised fantasy spin-off. It's kinda tarnished the brand for me now to the extent AW will really have to do something special. I am also a bit concerned that this game might derail itself from COD too much with its futuristic setting but to be honest; as long as it's a good game; I couldn't care less. COD is now a last gen game for me now and a happy memory so a fresh start could be a good idea.

  8. I told them straight... Ghosts ruined the franchise blah blah blah, we don't want exo suits and hover bikes etc, more detail obviously and I wrote it in a professional manner. I know nobody will probably even read it but just in case I tried to write a good piece in some of the answers...

  9. Saw this yesterday and thought it was pretty amazing so wanted to share it. IT'S a volcano, but not as we know it. This cerulean eruption takes place in the Danakil Depression, a low-lying plain in Ethiopia. The volcano's lava is the usual orange-red – the blue comes from flames produced when escaping sulphuric gases burn. French photographer Olivier Grunewald creates such images without using colour filters or digital enhancement, which is no simple task. To get this shot he had to wait until dusk, when the electric blue flames were visible, but before all the daylight had ebbed away. Then the wind had to be blowing away from him so he could get close enough. Photographing the similarly sulphurous Kawah Ijen volcano in Indonesia, where he worked inside the crater, was even more treacherous. "We have to take care when the winds push the flames close to us," he says. "In Danakil it is easier to escape as the land is flat." Grunewald works in a gas mask to avoid breathing in the deadly fumes – but photographing Kawah Ijen still left him with peeling skin and clothes smelling of rotten eggs for weeks afterwards. Another drawback of Grunewald's subject matter is that the acidic gases don't agree with his cameras. But it's worth it, he says. "The phenomenon is so uncommon – we really feel like we are on another planet." http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22229700.100-ethiopias-blue-volcano-burns-deadly-sulphuric-gas.html#.U4WWE_ldV15

    Ethiopia's Blue Volcano

Awesome! Though if I saw something like that in person, I'd probably crap my pants, haha.

  11. To be honest the England game looked fixed to me. The second goal was well within the goalies reach, yet he didn't go for it. The second he just let go of the ball. I know it was probably nothing, but it looked just a little dodgy to me.

As a rule, I'm for it. I don't believe in warehousing human beings who will never be allowed to interact with society again, who continue to pose a threat to other inmates and prison staff, or who require such costly and resource intensive solutions to those two issues such as "super max" prison cells. Beyond that, fire up a thread and we can talk about it.

  14. Na dude, it honestly didn't sound condescending at all. I knew exactly what you meant. Would be wicked if a few of us got it, it's only about £4 if you already had it on the ps3, seems crazy not to get it really. Then we'd just have to get Cal a PS4
