  1. A TEENAGER has been left fuming after mistakenly buying a photo of an in-demand computer console online. Peter Clatworthy thought he had paid £450 for an XBox One console on eBay, but actually received a picture of one in the post. The 19-year-old student, of Bilborough, had saved up in order to buy a limited edition Day One version of the console as a surprise Christmas present for his four-year-old son, McKenzie. He has now contested the purchase with eBay, which has investigated and stated he should get a full refund from the seller. Mr Clatworthy said: "I've had to make a joke out of it because I was that angry. At least we've now got something to laugh about in the years to come. "I always buy stuff on eBay and this had never happened before." Mr Clatworthy made the purchase on November 28, paying £450 plus £8 packaging. Despite the listing stating it was a photo of an XBox One Day One edition console, Mr Clatworthy said he'd expected to receive the console as it was listed in the video games and consoles category on eBay. He said: "It said 'photo' and I was in two minds, but I looked at the description and the fact it was in the right category made me think it was genuine. "I looked at the seller's feedback and there was nothing negative. I bought it there and then because I thought it was a good deal. "It's obvious now I've been conned out of my money." Mr Clatworthy received the photo in the post on Monday, saying: "They'd written on the back of it 'thank you for your purchase'. I was fuming." The XBox One was released in the UK on November 22, with a special Day One edition reserved for those who picked the machine up on its first day of sale. Since then, there have been reports of people buying empty XBox One packaging via eBay, and paying hundreds of pounds for the privilege. When the Post searched for 'XBox One Day One edition consoles' on the website yesterday, a number of genuine consoles were up for sale. There was, however, one lot of 'XBox One Day One edition retail packaging' which received 80 bids and sold for £7,200. Mr Clatworthy was informed by eBay yesterday that, as he paid via PayPal, he can expect to receive a full refund from the seller, who has until Monday to pay up. A spokesman for eBay, the online marketplace, said: "We don't allow listings which mislead, and will take action against this seller. "Customers can shop with confidence on eBay as we guarantee you will get your item or your money back. Mr Clatworthy is covered by the eBay money-back guarantee and we will be contacting him to put things right." Tessa Coates, Trading Standards Officer at Notts County Council, said: "We are not aware of an eBay scam of this nature. "However, we would encourage all eBay buyers to pay for their goods using PayPal to give them extra protection. "PayPal states that if the item doesn't match the seller's description or gets lost in the post then it will give the buyer their money back." She added: "Our main tips for buying online generally this Christmas is make sure you're getting a good deal, know who you're dealing with and protect your personal and financial information." Sauce Funnily enough, these are still being sold. It's such a blatant scam. I'd usually call him an idiot for falling for this, but having been myself by shit like this, it just pisses me off that this even exists.

  2. Today marks the passing of someone I could only hope to be half of. This is a man who has influenced my life in more ways than you would ever imagine, someone who ended apartheid and brought South Africa to the fore in the fight against racism. RIP Mr. Nelson Madiba Mandela, I hope you have a safe stay up there in the clouds old man. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-25249520

  3. I thought from the way you said the connection was bad and your scores were not so great that you hated the game, I might have misread Either way yeah, when connection is bad games suck, especially with CoD. Whenever I have a bad streak of connection problems I take a small break from the game, although this cod has been great for me so far. The only cheaters/hackers I have seen are some 10th prestige guys with like 5 hours played, they didn't have any advantage over me though...just a shiny prestige emblem lol.

  4. The other day playing with clan members I unloaded 98 rounds with a rapid fire LSAT into 2 enemies standing right next to each other while I was crouched. I managed to kill 1 and got 2 hit markers on the other. ♫ I'm fuckin' laggin'! ♫ 98 rounds; good thing we don't have to use squad points for bullets! Thinking the same thing but do you get a background or other unlockable when unlocking all of the attachments for a weapon? Maybe thats why? He's trying to obtain all the meaningless game goodies... My complaint towards Ghosts is we all combined clans to play together and have fun. Or combined clans trying to sink claws in and hang on to what we in our minds know can be fun. I have more fun talking and listening to you all joking back and forth than actually playing because when we do I have a 0% chance of enjoying a good game or helping us win. This is with an open nat and no other devices leaching bandwidth. When our strongest players can't break even on K/D's and I'm 3/24 it makes me sad. Not because my KD is that of a legally blind person with no thumbs and severe head trauma, sad because we all still buy these games in an attempt to enjoy ourselves. We have more discussions about how bad the games are, what pisses us off, and smashing our controllers or personal property as a result of playing the game than how great our experiences playing with each other have been. Which IMO is the point of playing together.

  6. Considering this is a completely different game on PC and next gen, this is more applicable to ps3/xbox, but you may find these things are also issues. Spawns For whatever reason, DICE have decided they need to have some fast paced COD-esque maps and game modes (domination this means you). this is fine, i like domination, but the spawns are ridiculous. domination is a unbelievable cluster fuck at the best of times. Spawning in on a team mate who is anywhere near the middle of the map is pointless. This i found out very quickly. So the alternative is to let the game spawn you slightly away from the action, but this is no problem seeing as the maps are small. but spawning me onto a claymore ? spawning me onto a grenade ? Spawning me directly in front of 3 enemies ? seriously ? what the fuck is this bullshit ! im chosing to spawn away from the action because this happens all the time, are you now telling me i cant spawn in anywhere safe? Connection/TTK It feels like i am playing black ops 2 again, with the ridiculous discrepancy between what i see on my tv screen and what the other players are seeing. I am dying from a single or double hit. if i take damage and retreat, i am normally at 20% health.yet i have consistenly found that when i am hitting someone, i get several hit markers, die, and find that they are on 75 or 50% health...if i am dying from what appears to be single hits, what the fucking hell are my bullets made of ? jelly ? tissue paper ? advent calander chocolate ? what ever it is, its fucking bullshit. The connection is really noticable for me. especially so with fucking support shotgunners. i am running into people or getting the drop on someone when i know they are coming. i shoot first with an lmg or AR from medium-short range. i get several hit markers, then i die, then i will see the shotgun pellets flying at me. after i am dead. i die, and then they fire their shotgun. what the fuck is this, time travel ? am i stubling across wormholes that teleport me into the future where i have just died. its awful, and makes me feel like im playing bullshit-lag-comp-dont-be-kind-kill-me-when-you-rewind-call of duty game. furthermore, i am running into people, and i am getting my shots off first. yet i am the one who dies, while they are on 7% health or some shit. i am aiming first, shooting first, getting the first hits, yet there appears to be no supression...which leads me onto the last thing that is pissing me off... Suppression the suppression seems to have been clearly dumbed down to entice newer players. in bf3, getting shot at repeatedly effectively rendered your vision useless unless you moved. now, i am having point blank gun fights where i shoot first, yet there appears to be no suppression acting on the other play whatsoever. all in all, there are some good things about this game which i like. it is new, and it is fun, but it is tiresome losing gunfights to things i once again, cannot control. BF3 was so flawless. i never lagged, or could even tell that i lagged if i did. the suppression was great, spawning was mostly fine. once i got into bf3 more and knew what the fuck was going on, i would regularly go positive with an average of about a 1.5 k/d in TDM and RUSH, and often was top or top 5 in the lobby. now i am seriously struggling to go positive , despite slowing it down a bit and chosing gunfights that i know i can win (which half the time i dont because of the above).

    Humble Jumbo Bundle

Currently on sale as part of a Humble Bundle: Natural Selection 2 Sanctum 2 Magicka + DLC Orcs Must Die! 2: Complete Pack Garry's Mod Serious Sam 3: BF3 I've got Natural Selection 2 and it is a fun game, a FPS and RTS combination with the Commander building stations for Marines that try to wipe out the enemy Aliens' nest. Not a very big community, but I'm sure it'd be a blast with a small party using Teamspeak. All of these can be yours for the low price of $4.15 (price subject to change). https://www.humblebundle.com/

  8. I agree. I spend 2-3 minutes looking for someone and in that time I start out careful then get reckless because I'm tired of looking for enemies. And then that leads to me getting killed by a camper.

  10. The wall street Journal and a number of other analyst and pointing out that BF4s quality is so poor and EAs ability to respond as so problematic that it's affecting sales and share prices. EA has had to assign resources to fix it on all platforms. http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2013/12/05/battlefield-4-woes-continue-to-plague-electronic-arts/?mod=yahoo_hs They've actually halted all developments at DICE until the issues are fixed. Things have got to be pretty fucked up for a public company to admitting stopping all development in order to fix problems with a released product

  11. That's the best bit Joe . "I paid £450 for this, a photo of an XBOX One? I'm fuming, they didn't use quality ink and the paper is of low quality. I want my money back, fuck knows what I'm going to put in that frame I bought yesterday."

LB Realism is fudging beautiful. Even on my POS laptop, the 64x64 was lovely. I'm using Sphax though which is very cartoony but very nice. I'm sure you've tried Sphax before though from the first server? I haven't seen the other ones you mentioned.

  14. Good points @deterioration. What is even more frustrating is when you die so many times through no fault of your own. It makes you feel helpless as if you really have no chance. I could go 26-6 and it would be a modest game but 4 of those deaths could be dumb spawn kills on me. Sometimes its even worse and I just can't do anything. Its time for me to jump ship to PC. I have meant to play with you guys the last two nights but when I jump on around 8 expecting to meet up at 9:30, I've shut the game off by 9 because it fucking pisses me off to much.

  15. My only complaint is I've not enough time to play it. Stupid late shifts in work and a back log of the walking dead to catch up on ... And a girlfriend.

  16. Dumb....1. Too hard to unlock everything? Why are you spending your points unlocking every attachment for every gun? Just unlock the ones you need at the time and you'll always have plenty of points. 2. Basically, "I have to use a gun to get kills instead of a streak?" Have some cheese with that whine. 3. BO2 was dominated by SMGs so it's not fair to be ok with that game but not this one. 4 & 5. Maps to big and TTK too low: These are 100% personal preference. I happen to like both myself. 6. Matchmaking: Haven't encountered those issues 7. Spawns: Valid point here, though hardly new to the franchise. Personally I'm having more fun with this installment than any since MW2 (still the best IMO).

  17. It's worth noting the amount of wins needed to win the modes as well. Most of them are 50 wins, but SnD is 80, TDM is 150 and domination is a massive 300. SnR is32, so that one should change hands frequently. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
