Funnily enough though I believe there is an automatic setting that I seem to have switched on that helps me auto mount whenever i'm close to things so I've not had to worry too much about mounted kills just yet. I didn't know that I found that I was just mounting at every single corner when trying to get those challenges, I found mounting on crates in strategic areas on domination was quite useful. I'm sure for the long range ones though I'll need this! I had to turn off the auto-mount feature as I found it annoying. I'd try and strafe around a corner and my character would just mount against the nearest wall and screw up my already piss poor shooting.
