So, Obsidian are making their own elder scrolls set in the pillars of eternity universe.

Set in the same world as Pillars of Eternity, Avowed is Obsidian's big new RPG.

With ES6 so far away this is really exciting for me. I have zero faith in Bethesda making a good game anymore and this could really take advantage if they get it right.

The Xbox event threw up a few nice surprises and they are going to kill it with their game pass.

Grabbed the trailer for ease to watch it directly here.

Not much info at all on it, but it was a decent cinematic for sure. I mean the only thing we can clearly say is that you're only as good as you're last game and if The Outer Worlds pissed all over Bethesda's Fallout 76 chips then we finally have a contender to fill the Elder Scrolls gap that's currently out there in the market. I wouldn't mind trying another FPS like Oblivion as its been a while.

Not too impressed with what I've seen of this. Seems to be riddled with bugs, jank and looks like hideous UE5 asset slop. They should stick to their polished range of CPRG's rather than keep trying to relive the glory days of their New Vegas one hit wonder.

Good combat, weak writing seems to be the consensus.

As ever I will reserve judgement until playing it, the outer worlds had a similar mix bag of reviews when it came out and I enjoyed that.

The fact it's on game pass too so won't really cost me anything extra is an obvious plus too.

I've played a little bit, seems decent so far although I have noticed the chap with me does not stop yapping lol

I'll try and give it a proper go some time one evening but it's behind Stalker, Tarkov and KCD right now, so will require me to be in the mood.

Anyone else tried it?

Not yet, I had contemplated it for this evening but I have opted for KCD instead 😄

I have a few too many games on the go and if I begin this now I can see me drifting away from another and the one's I have on at the moment are games I have drifted away from once. If I do so again I won't play them and it would be a shame 😄

I have a friend who is playing it and really enjoying it, he's certainly giving me a more positive spin on the game so on the postive side of the mixed reviews which is promising as we like the same sort of stuff.
