J4MES OX4D 10,023
Confirmed First game came a long way after launch so I'm fairly happy about this. Many lessons have been learned and technology has grown since so hopefully we'll get a highly ambitious and well-directed game right off the bat this time. Hopefully a fresh and original setting too. Would also like to see the Dark Zone scrapped altogether and PvP across the whole map instead to add some real tension and a bit of realism. tronic44 3,642
I’ll wait to see what @Diddums thinks, then do completely the opposite Honestly though, they took the piss with the first one so much, that I don’t even want to watch the trailer. GazzaGarratt 11,035
Ubisoft learned how to create this into a solid enjoyable game after 2 years. Whilst not perfect, if it was like it was at the start they would be having a pretty big following. If they needed any more incentives, I think it's pretty easy to look across to Bungie and take the learns from how they implemented Destiny 2 and starve the payer base after having a decent grindy original. The3rdWalker 1,270
Division has become one of the best looter shooter games on the market. If they can avoid the disastrous launch Div2 will be a must buy. GazzaGarratt 1 i7 7700k, 16GB RAM, GEFORCE 1080, 240GB SSHD, 2TB SSD

GazzaGarratt 11,035
Apart from the cheesiest Party chat I've ever heard over a gameplay clip, that does look impressive. Makes me want to jump back into the first one.Hopefully they'll have different ways to combat the bullet sponge bosses. The part where one of them gets stuck in some glue stuff was pretty cool as you have to wait for a teammate to bail you out. phil bottle and J4MES OX4D

GazzaGarratt 11,035
8 players is all thats on my mind. Great to hear it. Now its about how many raids can they give us to keep us wanting to play more. Also, how will they vary the fight to you rather than 8 players in cover just shooting an AR continuously for 30 minutes at one target. I'm sure they know this but as its not got any 'space magic' they can call upon, it is a little harder for the Division to make raids work. The specialist trees at the end of the campaign are interesting. I certainly wouldn't want to feel locked down to just the Sniper class but does that mean we have to create 2nd and 3rd characters to play the other specialists? GazzaGarratt 11,035
Found my answer myself this morning - you can level up each Specialist but only one at a time therefore it is only 1 character required.
GazzaGarratt 11,035
We didn't get much info on the Dark Zone this time round other than we definitely know it's going to be in it. I really hope they nail that this time round as it could make the endgame fantastic. Such a great concept initially but poorly executed on release fo Division 1. Sennex 1,903
************ There is a fuck ton of links, so here is the post from reddit that I was swiping for you guys https://old.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/8ql984/the_division_news_june_12th_2018/ ************ Dev blog from yesterday Dev-Blog Welcome to Washington D.C. Setting the Stage It is seven months after the events in Manhattan. The long winter, the snowy streets of New York, and the holidays are now behind us. However, tensions are the highest they have ever been, as the Dollar Flu penetrated the eastern coast and ravaged one of the most iconic cities on American soil. At the same time, the summer sun is blazing, the heat is palpable, and as time goes by nature has started to take back the city. If the capital falls, the entire nation falls with it. This is a call-to-action, Agent. Welcome to Washington, D.C. The Open World The Division 2's Washington, D.C. is a 1:1 recreation of the renowned capital of the United States. Authenticity has been key to deliver a unique visual experience within the world of The Division 2, and you will be excited to recognize historical landmarks and monuments, devastated by the surrounding chaos, as you move through the city. Nature has taken its toll since the virus broke out, with flooded and overgrown areas that you will have to navigate through. Open, residential neighborhoods with longer sight lines and wider city blocks contrast with dense commercial areas. The overarching power struggle between Division Agents and enemy factions provides an opportunity to create dynamic gameplay elements that transform the city into a living, breathing world. You will engage in back-and-forth conflicts over strategic checkpoints in an attempt to re-establish order and develop new strategies based on the varied terrain as nature degrades and erodes the environment. The civilians of the city have banded together in settlements, places of refuge that are now under siege. A civil war is looming, and The Division – you – will have to make sure that doesn't happen. In The Division 2, the city is not only the backdrop - it's a character in itself. We can't wait to share this new world with you and go on a journey together into a transformed Washington, D.C. Source The Division News Shield The Shield Program will be introduced in The Division 1 with Update 1.8.2 on June 14th. It is a new achievement system that enables you to unlock rewards in The Division 1 and The Division 2. At at launch we will get four Shields and there are 12 in total. Once the first 4 are dropped, you will get a new one each month. Rewards As mentioned, each completed Shield rewards you in The Division 1 and The Division 2. As examples, you can get Currency, Collectibles and narrative content (not a final list). When you have unlocked many Shields in The Division 1, you will unlock unique elements in The Division 2. Currently we have no details what exactly the rewards in The Division 2 are. Specialization Clarification Specializations As showcased in the presentation at UbiE3, Specialization becomes available once you have finished the main campaign and hit level cap (30). You can choose one of the three specializations that were introduced at E3: “Demolitionist”, “Survivalist” and “Sharpshooter” and each of these specializations is a progression path. When you select a Specialization you get a Signature Weapon (Explosive Tipped Crossbow, M32A1 Grenade Launcher, .50 Cal Sniper Rifle) but that is only the beginning. Each Specialization is a whole Progression Tree that unlocks special things for your character including exclusive Skill Mods. This way you can really find the gameplay that is most suited to you. But this decision is not final, you can switch between these Specializations any time you want and unlock some of the progression of the Sharpshooter and then switch back to Demolitionist. Also, no part of the gear based build diversity is replaced with specializations. Signature weapon is a new additional slot, it replaces the signature skills of The Division 1 and is not a main weapon. As you see in one of the high-end items that were picked up in one of the gameplays – (image ) the loot is as complex as ever and we have still the same number of gear and weapon slots. (image ) Further details about Skills The Division 2 will have new skills (Assault Drone, Chem Launcher or Hive), but there will be also classic skills like the Seeker Mine that was already showcased in the gameplays. The Hive, for example, looks like a small grapefruit on your agent and essentially launches a swarm of small drones that will attack the weak points of enemy NPCs. Inside Xbox: E3 2018 Special Weak Points / lower Time to Kill / more enemy diversity Image The Division 1 had always this issue with very bullet-spongy enemies that take a ton of hits to the head and just did not die. That affected the gameplay and the dynamic of the encounters. In The Division 2 they had the specific goal to make the combat faster. In an effort to make shooting in combat more intuitive and dynamic they have not only lowered the kill time for the players, but also for the NPCs (they are more lethal). But they also have better reactions, better animations, and weak points that reward precision shooting. Destructible armor The new big bosses will have a new feature called Destructible armor. That means, there is a reason why it takes longer to kill an enemy and you also see the bullets removing this armor piece for piece. More Enemy Diversity In The Division 1, all factions had the same NPC classes – rusher, tank, sniper etc, but this will also change. They have designed multiple enemy factions and each faction you encounter will play differently. So the enemies are more diverse and more unique when you encounter them. Inside Xbox: E3 2018 Special The Division 2 Gameplay Developer Walkthrough Endgame First The Division 2 was designed with an Endgame-First mentality to give the players a lot of content at launch, that not only covers small but also hardcore challenges and that there will also be 8 player raids. The raid will become available shortly after the game launches – so that you have time to prepare for it. The developers also almost guarantee, that you can’t finish that one solo. While we currently have no information what exactly these raids entail, they are in essence the replacement of Incursions and are designed for an 8 player crew and cater towards different specializations, builds and group configurations. That also means, that you not only have to unlock the Specializations, you also should master the synergies between the different variations and how you can do the most damage. They really want endgame to be for everyone and they are making sure that the endgame is there, it is strong on day one and it also caters to all types of players. Endgame does not mean hardcore, but there also have to be challenges for the hardcore fan. You will have a huge selection of activities you can approach in endgame and since the year 1 content is for free, it will also not split up the community. The Division 2 is, in essence, the more you play, the more there is to do. Endgame Details and Specialization Gameplay The Division 2 Gameplay Developer Walkthrough How the Division 2 Puts Endgame First - E3 2018 Game Progression and Location As they were designing The Division 2, they started thinking – how would the world look like seven months after the events in The Division 1. It's not winter anymore, the society is starting to rebuild and start over. But of course, there are also different views on how this should happen. The True Sons, for example, think that tyranny is the best way to move forward. When you want money, you go to New York, when you want Power, you go to Washington Both cities – New York and Washington are very Iconic and stand for completely different things. While New York is very business oriented – Washington is the center of American democracy, it is the center of power and government and basically everything The Division stands and is fighting for. But now basically all of that is destroyed by this crisis. Different areas New York has, in essence, two areas. Business and residential. Washington, on the other hand, is a lot more diverse and has about seven distinctly different areas. On top of that, you have also the situation, that nature has taken back the city – parks are overgrown, areas are flooded and that also brings a new dynamic to the city you explore. The goal was, that each area plays differently and gives you a huge variety of situations. A commercial district, for example, has shops and car parks and that plays completely different in comparison to The Mall that is a wide open space. So in each area, you kind of have to think about your loadout and what you need o achieve your goals. Activities There are “Control Points“ on the map, that can be in control of civilians that are trying to survive or enemy factions. You have to free these locations. While some things have changed in terms of activities, some things will stay the same – so there are still bounties, main missions, side missions and of course raids. Missions will still have difficulty options but the open world just scales with the player. Your Character (concept) You are in essence the new sheriff in town and put in a situation, you are not familiar with. You have been stripped of your weapons and have the bare minimum to survive. Then as you progress and level up, you get more skills and more equipment that help you do your job better. The loot progression Loot and equipment are still at the heart of the character progression. Getting new gear and more powerful weapons that help you kill the opponents drives you forward. But new gear also unlocks new ways to play the game and that synergizes with other elements of your character, like the Speciaizations for example. The gear also has “Brands” and “Brand Sets” now, so when you complete a set, you get bonuses. Impact on the world There will be safe houses because they are very useful gameplay wise, but a lot more important are the multiple settlements you have to find in the area. These are key-locations where civilians are trying to survive and by helping these civilians you will see a direct impact of your actions on the world. How the Division 2 Puts Endgame First - E3 2018 The Division 2 Gameplay Developer Walkthrough Clans Team-members are an important part of the experience – especially now with 8 player raids in the game. That is also why clans are in the game and they want to make it the most accessible system yet – even on consoles. They want you to play with other people because playing in a group with coordination really makes the game shine. The Division 2 Gameplay Developer Walkthrough Character look / Exotic Sets In The Division 1, it was winter, so the possible and also realistic/believable looks were limited. In The Division 2 it is summer and that opens up a lot more possibilities in the area how a character can look. This is not just in vanity items, but It was also very important, that there is a clear evolution between a level 1 character and a level 30 character. This does not essentially mean, that they are huge, bulkier and heavier but a lot more equipped. What is also important, that every character looks unique. In The Division 2 there are now “Exotic Gear Sets” and once you have collected all the different pieces, you will get a very distinct look How the Division 2 Puts Endgame First - E3 2018 The Division 2 Gameplay Developer Walkthrough Battle Royale Mode Isn't Ruled Out Creative director Terry Spier: "I love battle royale, but we're not officially having any battle royale [content] at release," said the creative director. "But, I mean, if you look at the Division, Survival was a really well-received mode and we had a lot of fun making it, we had a lot of fun playing it. So I think there's definitely some interesting roots there, but there are no official plans to have battle royale at launch." gamespot Community Content Weapon and Gear/Brand Set Talents This is a collection that /u/rhythmik83 has put together: Weapon Talents Pyromaniac: Damage done to targets on fire is increased by 15% REQUIRES Over +10% Weapon Damage.
