Step 1: You press the power button

Step 2: Put the disc in your console

Step 3: Shoot stuff!

A more serious answer is just play through the story :) As you level up you will gain levels and power and it will start unlock the higher level stuff like crucible playlist, strike playlist then Nightfalls and raid.  I think most of us have completed the story already but we can still join you for them or start second accounts.

Ah the disc! I knew I was forgetting something!

I chose to play through as a titan, there was already a hunter ready to go but only thing I can remember about him is he had a knife so thought I'd mix it up. I'll fire through the story this weekend and if I have any questions I'll put them in here. Other than that feel free to throw any advice you think I'll need in here too.

Awesome Tam, I've been waiting for you! Show Rich how to do it [emoji6]

Focus on the story as@Greboth said. We can hop in whenever through the story and if you're struggling on sections just ask for help on a mission or event.

You'll see tons on the map. The best thing to do is jump in a chat and sometimes party up with others doing specific things like quests, adventures and especially public events.

Just put your questions up here and check the other threads and info because there's already some awesome stuff been shared.

I knew you'd be happy to see me [emoji6]

I'm enjoying it so far even though I've hardly done anything, think the gameplay feels so smooth and the visuals are pretty impressive. Can't wait to level up and be able to party up.

Play through the story and then the game unlocks properly. Then it's just a case of grinding, and grinding, and grinding, and grinding to infinity....to get your power level up to be able to do raids, strikes and nightfalls.

How you been getting on Tam burnfitbillyboy?

Enjoying it so much more than the first one, thought the story was great and now I'm just working my way up to having higher power.

Not entirely sure how I go about that but I've been doing not too bad. Should I be dismantling much weapons etc? Should I be leaving engrams until I'm higher power?

If you want to do the quest for the Mida Multitool (yes is the correct answer) keep some rare or legendary scout rifles in your vault as one of the quest steps is to dismantle 5 of them

Thanks to Capn_Underpants for the artwork

Good stuff mate, it is an enjoyable relaxing game to grind up the levels.

Personally, I just cared about whatever the highest Power level weapons i dropped until around 260ish. That way I purposely tried out all guns along the way. If you do find something you love using, like an AR, just infuse any higher levelled ARs into it along the way.

You'll dismantle shit loads in the process. If you get a high exotic just keep a high legendary as a back up. If you switch exotics, you'll need back up legendary gear to replace the other one.

Lastly, just open all legendary engrams, with the exception of Powerful 'Illuminous' legendary engrams. Regular ones the power level are set at the number you pick them up. The others will move upwards with when your Power level goes up.

Cheers for clearing that up bud, this is the first time in so long I've been able to just play a game and never get bored. So glad I took the gamble now.

Just remember that those Illuminous engrams gets automatically opened on reset day.
