Useless on console unless im missing something. I cant find any option to combine items which is the whole point of it.

You can use it to make certain things, bullets in particular

You can't combine items yet but like Phil said it's a way of creating bullets.

 

You can also just use it as another place to build things, if your standard one is full creating things, then use the work bench.

 

I'm guessing they're hoping to update it at some point so that we can combine items but who knows.

You can make bullets at the forge. Only use i can see for it at the moment is using it as a crafting queue for when you have 1000s of items to make

I thought it was only the bullet casings you could make in the forge, along with the tips. Then you create the ammo in the work bench?

I tend to use it before going out on a scavenging trip, that way the stuff gets made but doesn't fill up my inventory whilst out.

 

Maybe the bullets thing is only on PC.
