  1. Next week (I think, I'm lazy and I can't be assed looking it up), OpTic Gaming are hosting SB (Strictly Business) in a week long LAN scrim at their house. They're also flying out Benson, a pro COD caster to cast over it. I'm not sure if this is great practice or shooting yourself a little in the foot. Playing on LAN and online are two different things completely. So playing against each other, on LAN, with your team-mates sitting beside you is a really good thing. The negative to this is you might show your hand early on to an enemy, SnD plays, opening routes, a week long LAN against one team and they might figure you out. The opposite applies and you gain advantage against them too. It'll be interesting anyway. I don't like SB, mainly because Censor is a complete and utter dickhead, so hopefully OpTic smash him. And Scump punches Censor in the throat.
  2. This. I have no ego when I'm asked to code something new. If I think someone else has done something before, I'll take it. It's a huge time saver and can often save you from re-testing (assuming you don't change it). As Sennex says though, you have to understand what you're taking as even the slightest change to a block of code, if you don't know what you're amending, can cause huge issues.
  3. I'm hoping the next COD, that will be created for next gen and not just a PS3/Xox 360 port, will be a cracker. Hoping.
  4. What's the health in hardcore?
  5. I played hardcore once. I team - killed stretch many times and got kicked. It was very fun.
  6. All of this, but especially the part in bold. I have an Honours Degree in Computer Science and the reason I explained why I won't be as helpful as others is because I got lazy and stop caring about programming. I really enjoyed it in school but I just lost interest in my final year of school, as I had already been accepted in to Uni. When I got to Uni, my interest was still low. I did enough to pass my programming courses but enjoyed others aspect of development, such as analysis or design. That's what I expected to go for when I left Uni. The problem with my programming attitude during Uni is that I can't remember writing in all these lanaguages. I can't remember how they differ or where you would use one over another. They taught me, I listened enough to pass and then I forgot. Everything. I got lucky with my current job as I was put on a programming course before I started. It was like being a noob again, and although some of it came back to me, it was a bit of a struggle. It still is. Programming isn't easy but get the basics down correctly and you'll be going in the right direction. Anyhoo, little life story and a little boring but just wanted you to know why you wouldn't want career advice from me for programming. The other reason is that I don't code in a very "modern" lanaguage. I'm currently coding in COBOL, created 40 or 50+ years ago, and still going strong, in banking anyway. It is fantastic at number crunching. I'll pop back in this thread if you have any questions about basics, or if you have examples you want to work through. Also interested to see what other advice people give you. Good luck with it. For the record, I'm enjoying programming again.
  7. I'll be back to this thread tomorrow, busy night. But what type of programming are you interested in? What are you searching for on the Internet, java, C++ or are you looking at a general thing like Web programming? I'll give you my story tomorrow bud, others will help More Like Sennex or Cyber, for reasons I'll explain tomorrow.
  8. So I'm at a urinal, in a club, having a few drinks, and obviously peeing. Diddums phones me drunk, I answer and stop concentrating on peeing. One hand on my weiner and the others holding the phone. Next minute I realise my belt has flipped over and I'm peeing on it. So I created this thread to say..... Fuck you Diddums. Also happy birthday. Also I ain't ginger. Good night folks.
  9. Holy shit, I thought you were closer to 40.
  10. I hate shopping. My wife took me shopping but I gave her my credit card and just told her to buy me clothes while I went to the pub. She came back with one t shirt for me and bought herself 3 handbags and a dress and said it was my own fault for giving her my card . Good luck.
  11. I don't think it's the fact that I looked that's an issue, it's that I've watched 3 times. Crikey.
  12. Back to normal now man, hectic 2-3 weeks.
  13. I'll update this thread with more info when I can but I thought I'd give some basic info as a starter, considering the most well known North American teams have just been confirmed. The event's qualifiers started on January 18th and the team have now been confirmed, to compete for the World Champions in LA, on 28th-30th March. There are 32 teams in total, a quarter of which are NA teams. This weekend, the final NA qualifiers took place. 16 teams qualified for a double elimination tournament with the top 8 qualifying for the World Champs. This meant that to qualify, a team had to win two games out of three. A double elemination works as so: Each team start in the winner's bracket. If you win your game, you move on in the winner's bracket, the losing team drops to the loser's bracket. If you lose your game in the loser's bracket then you're out. The winner of the loser's bracket takes on the on whoever is undefeated from the winner's bracket. Simples. This is who qualified: Strictly Business (who won the event) Complexity (runners up) Team Kaliber EnvyUs Xfinity Gaming OpTic Gaming FaZe Competitive Rise Teams that missed out: Curse LV Curse NY The Denial Teams The main games from the weekend (because qualifying was the primary goal for all teams): In Round 1, OpTic beat Denial West, putting them one game away from COD Champs. They took on EnvyUs in Round 2, losing 3-1, dropping them to loser's bracket. This allowed EnvyUs to qualify. Curse LV had a shock and lost to Rise in round 1. This put them in to loser's bracket (3 of this team are the current World Champs). Curse NY also lost (although I'm not sure who to). This meant that at least one of the Curse teams wouldn't make it as they made in round 1 loser's bracket. The winner of that would play OpTic, with the winner of that game qualifying for COD Champs. So, one qualifying spot, would go to Curse LV, Curse NY or OpTic. These are all top 8 teams, and two were going. Curse NY beat Curse LV 3-2. LV went up 2-1 in the series after Blitz but NY took Dom and a comfortable SnD to go through and play OpTic. The OpTic game was huge for them. Lose, and go home. OpTic took the game 3-2, with a really clutch game of Dom and SnD in games 4/5. I'm not Nadeshots biggest fan but his SnD start, 7-0, was huge. This meant that there will be no Curse teams at COD Champs. What happens to both Curse teams now will be interesting. Killa LV expected to retire. I'll update it with more info about the event in the next bit. All the matches are available on YouTube at MLG Official COD. What I will point out about the UK teams is that 4 qualified, and one of those teams was ALMOST a bunch of pubstompers. TYT, made up of FearCrads, BennyCentral, QuickerThanU and Insomulus were one game away from qualifying, losing to Team Orbit (who they beat previously). The top team from the UK, Epsilon, will be in OpTic's pool at Champs, that will be an interesting game.
  14. I'm here. I've had a busy couple of weeks with with work, holidays and people visiting. Lack of headset has stopped me from turning on my PS4. Back to normal next week. I can also confirm cal is well and with a goat. The goat is treating him well.
  15. You serious? Homes Under the Hammer?
  16. Only good for Top Gear reruns.
  17. The interpreter turned up yesterday, saw the amount of people, cried and wanted to go home.
  18. She had already been identified, they weren't allowed to publish her image. Which they did.
  19. Defence already doing a good job picking her apart. She heard gunshots and a man and woman screaming but she went to sleep instead of calling cops.
  20. Chookes
