  1. I will be STUNNED if Suicide Squad gets an 84 … but stranger things have happened! Thanks for submitting predictions mate!
  2. Good to have you here Andy mate! I know there a lot of Warzone and FIFA players here that would be happy for you to join them!
  3. Thanks for the submissions so far! Quite interesting how different some of our scores are! Now that we’ve seen the Indiana Jones gameplay trailer, I’m pretty happy with my prediction! I think I have gone too high on Avowed though!
  4. Here are my predictions! Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - 71 Foamstars - 81 Helldivers 2 - 77 Skull and Bones - 68 Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - 91 Alone in the Dark - 76 Dragons Dogma 2 - 83 Princess Peach: Showtime - 82 Rise of the Ronin - 83 South Park: Snow Day - 80 Black Myth: Wukong - 87 STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl - 79 Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 - 75 Star Wars Outlaws - 84 Little Nightmares 3 - 83 Avowed - 81 Towerborne - 83 Hellblade 2: Senuas Saga - 89 Indiana Jones - 85
  5. Now that 2024 is here, I thought it would be fun to have a little Forever Gaming competition! I haven’t come up with a fancy name yet so I’m just calling it the OpenCritic Challenge 2024! The concept is simple, everyone who wants to take part predicts what they think the final OpenCritic score of the below list of games will be. Each player gets points based on how close their prediction is. The scoring system goes like this: Exact score - 5 points 1 score away - 3 points 2 scores away - 2 points 3 scores away - 1 point 10 or more points away - -2 points! For example, if you had predicted that Alan Wake 2 would score a 90 on OpenCritic, you would receive 3 points, as it scored an 89. Similarly, if you had predicted it would score a 78, you would lose 2 points. For those who may be unfamiliar with OpenCritic, it is a website that collects review scores from all the major review outlets and calculates an aggregate score. Hopefully there will be some interest to join in with this, I have listed the 2024 releases below, just copy and paste the list and add your scores. I will keep score and keep you updated throughout the year. If a game on the list ends up being delayed to 2025, we will just remove it from the predictions. Obviously there will be games coming out this year that haven’t been announced yet, if every participant is happy to do so we can add them in as and when they are announced and we can submit our predictions then. I haven’t added remasters, as chances our they will score similarly to their original release and becomes too easy to predict. Remakes have been included if they are a substantial enough remake, for example the Final Fantasy Rebirth game is a significant remake. Feel free to let me know if you disagree and we can collectively decide to remove them or add other ones. I am going to be recording a video for my YouTube channel discussing my predictions, if it’s ok with you I will discuss some other predictions as well as mine to make it interesting. If you would rather me not mention your predictions (I would only be using your username from the site, no real names) then just let me know when you submit your predictions. This is just for fun, no awards for winning. Unless anyone can think of a good idea for the prize, maybe a new Forever Gaming Badge? Last point, as the first game on this list releases on February 2nd, all entries will need to be submitted by the 28th January (I don’t think reviews for Suicide Squad will be out until 29th at the earliest). Also worth pointing out I haven’t added every single game releasing, there’s just too many! Here is the list, I will submit my predictions below. Good Luck! Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - Foamstars - Helldivers 2 - Skull and Bones - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - Alone in the Dark - Dragons Dogma 2 - Princess Peach: Showtime - Rise of the Ronin - South Park: Snow Day - Black Myth: Wukong - STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl - Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 - Star Wars Outlaws - Little Nightmares 3 - Avowed - Towerborne - Hellblade 2: Senuas Saga - Indiana Jones -
  6. I personally don’t have any nostalgia for the Tomb Raider games as I never played them when I was younger. However I know they are beloved games and probably ones I should at least try! I will wait and see what the reaction is when they release, we all remember the poor launch of the GTA remasters!
  7. Here it is, the Forever Gaming’s Game of the Year video! I really hope you all enjoy, I have enjoyed the whole game of the year process and making the video! Please do give me any feeeback, both positive and negative/constructive. I would love to do this again for you all at the end of 2024 so would love to get some feedback to improve! I have posted the link to the FG video below, and also the YT link if anyone wants to watch there. Once again, thank you all for participating in the Game of the Year voting, I’m sorry if your favourite game didn’t make the cut but I hope you enjoyed it anyway!
  8. Great, thank you!
  9. Ok so the video is practically ready to go. I will be uploading it to YouTube and to this website. I just wanted to check that it is ok for me to use the Forever Gaming Logo on the Thumbnail for the video? I assume it would be but thought it’s better to double check! If someone can let me know that would be great and il have the video uploaded soon!
  10. It’s one of my favourite games of all time, any excuse to playthrough it again is great plus it’s only £10 if you already own the original game. I’m also really excited for the new No Return mode they are adding, their take on the Rogue Like genre. I love the gameplay on TLOU2 and think it will suit the Rogue like genre well!
  11. For me I think it’s going to be a year of catching up on my backlog of games! There aren’t too many games confirmed to release in 2024 that I’m excited about, off the top of my head it’s these: - The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered - Hellblade 2 - Avowed - Star War Outlaws Suggestions are that the Indiana Jones game will release this year, but I’lol believe it when I see it! There’s also still a lot of games releasing that we didn’t even know yet, so here’s hoping it’ll be another great year!
  12. The poll is now CLOSED! Thanks to all who voted, and sorry for anyone who didn’t get the chance too but had it close it at some point! You can see the results above, but I will make a video to present the results anyway! Watch this space.
  13. Just a little reminder to anyone who hasn’t made the vote yet that the Poll will close in just over 24 hours!
  14. Thanks for letting me know, I will make a note to remove a count from Final Fantasy 16 and add one to Hogwarts Legacy! Thanks to everyone who has voted so far!
  15. I voted for Sea of Stars too, I absolutely loved it! Whilst I wasn’t really satisfied with the ending, the full journey The game takes you in os simply brilliant!
  16. Yeah games like Tarkov and Seivert are difficult as they are in Beta, then you have other games in early access. Then you have Games like Fortnite that continué to reinvent themselves every year! Hopefully this final list is a pretty good representation of the Forever Gaming community!
  17. The voting is now open for the official FG Game of the Year! Please vote for tour favourite 3 games on the poll. Please do not vote for more than 3! Some games were nominated but didn’t make the cut for various reasons, see the below list: Marvel Midnight Suns - 2022 release date Zero Seivert - 2022 release Elden Ring - 2022 release Escape from tarkov - released 2017 Teardown - 2020 release date Cyberpunk 2077 - 2020 release date Metroid prime remastered - a remaster … had to remove one more game to make the poll work! The voting will close on 8th January! Whilst I’m here, I want to wish you all a happy and healthy new year!
  18. Thank you all for your nominations, this process is now officially closed! If you didn’t get a chance to nominate, hopefully your favourite games have already been nominated! I will post the official voting poll in the coming days, however a few stats for you: - Games officially nominated - 22 (too many for the poll!!) - Games nominated more than once - 5 - Most nominations - 3 (3 games had 3 nominations!) Keep an eye out for the poll!
  19. I never bothered trying Elden Ring or the Dark Souls games as I typically don’t enjoy these type of games! Don’t want to waste my money, however with Lies of P I was able to play it through Game Pass! I did try Wo Long through Game pass but couldn’t get past the first boss 🤣 The thing I liked about Lies of P was the Specter mechanic. Being able to take on the boss battles with some help was a godsend and there’s no way I would have beat the game without it! I will definitely consider going back to Bloodborne though as I was always interested in the atmosphere and setting!
  20. Fellow Gooner here, hopefully going back to the top of the table tomorrow night! Welcome to FG, im still relatively new here too and everyone has been very welcoming! I’m a console player so doubt we will get to play together much but im sure we will interact on here!
  21. Beat Lies of P last night, the first souls like I have ever beaten! I’ve tried Bloodborne, Sekiro, Demon Souls and Mortal Shell in the past but gave up with all of them pretty early on! I persevered with this game as I loved the setting and the idea for the story, and I’m glad I did as I ended up loving it! I thought the combat was fantastic and particularly liked the mechanic where successfully parrying could break the enemy weapon! However, I found the Legion arm to be mostly useless, and felt like using any larger weapons put you at a massive disadvantage which meant I didn’t experiment with weapons as much as I would have liked! The visuals and audio design were great though and the story was interesting and more “in your face” than the other souls games, but I would still have liked the story to take more of a central part of the game. Overall, really enjoyed the game and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys souls games. I gave it a score of 8.4 on my instagram where I usually post my reviews! I enjoyed it so much that I’m actually considering going back and trying Bloodborne or Demon Souls again?! Anyone else beaten this that thinks I’m crazy or think it deserves more than 8.4?
  22. Yes a decent month to start 2024! I loved A Plague Tale Réquiem! Nobody saves the world was decent but have never tried Evil West! Hopefully the rest of 2024 will have lineups like this … 🤣
  23. Thanks for the nominations so far everyone! We have a good selection of games already, but I will leave the nomination process open until the 28th to give a few more days for people to nominate if they would like to! Have a fantastic Christmas for all those who celebrate!
  24. Haha thanks mate, done! Here is the link for the Game of the Year nominations topic: https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/10464-fg-game-of-the-year-2023-nominations/#comment-157384
  25. If you read the previous Game of the Year topic, you’ll know I’ve been planning this for a week or so! It’s time to start the process and determine the nominees! Everyone, please respond in this topic with the 5 games you want to nominate for Game of the Year! The only rule is that the game must have originally released in the year 2023 (e.g. if the game released on another console in 2022, but came to your console in 2023, this would not be eligible). I will ‘Stop the count’ on Christmas Day. I will then open a poll after the Christmas break (hopefully the 29th/30th) with all the nominated games. We have a maximum entry of 20 games, so the games with the least amount of nominations will have to miss out if we have more than 20 nominated! So be sure to nominate the our favourite games even if you’ve seen someone else nominate it! I will post more about the poll voting process when that time is nearer, but for now reply to this post with your 5 nominations (or less if you haven’t played 5 games worthy of nomination!!) If you can share this with as many different members as possible to make this is varied as a true representation of the Forever Gaming community! I will start the process with my 5 nominations in no particular order: - Lies of P - Spider-Man 2 - Star Wars Jedi Survivor - Sea of Stars - Starfield (A lot of ‘stars’ this year …)
