  1. I fear you might be right!! Although, I’m still confident with the rest of my predictions 🤞🏻
  2. Ok so it’s time for an update, as we now have 3 games with an OpenCritic score! Suicide Squad: 60 Foamstars: 64 Helldivers 2: 84 Player scores so far: @J4MES OX4D = 8 @Luseth = 1 @Andy_White_07 = -2 Me = -4 … 😔 Skull and Bones and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth up next, here’s hoping I can get back to a positive score soon!!
  3. A couple of snaps from my playthrough of Alan Wake 2! More to come …
  4. A couple of snaps from Silent Hill: The Short Message

I enjoyed Splatoon 2 but never put too many hours into it! This game is definitely similar, however in Splatoon the modes tended to focus on which team can cover the map with the most ink, whereas here it is more focused on the typically death match and other objective modes. It’s 4v4 modes at the moment with a coop mode too!
  6. I never played the Silent Hill games so I can’t really comment to that. However I did play PT and it does feel like this game has tried to recreate something similar, but PT is far superior.

Has anyone played this game yet? I’ve played a handful of matches on my own and it’s pretty fun! Think it was a great idea for them to release it on PS Plus, as I imagine the player base would have been much smaller otherwise! Think it’d be a fun game for FGers to get together and play, I’m not very vocal in party chats mainly because I typically play when my girlfriend and daughter are asleep, but it would be fun to party up with some you! Anyone else been enjoying the game?
  8. Firstly, I was looking for a ‘Horror’ sub category to post this in but couldn’t find one … so I’m posting it here but let me know if there is somewhere else to post about horror games! Secondly, has anyone else played this yet? I beat this short game the other day and have mixed feelings about it. I actually found the story quite interesting and has a very disturbing and poignant message about bullying, suicide, mental health and neglect. Therefore I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone who may be triggered or upset by these subjects. The gameplay isn’t great, the visuals are good but the use of FMV is particularly interesting here. More and more games seems to be using this now and think it will play a big part in the future of games. I guess in summary I enjoyed my 2 hours with the game, but only trying to unravel the disturbing story, I didn’t actually enjoy ‘playing’ it. The last sequence in particular was very frustrating and I ended up just using a YouTube guide for it! Has anyone else played it? What’s your thoughts on it? If you haven’t played it but are interested, it’s a free game on the PlayStation store.
  9. Whilst I agree that it’ll be good for PS5 owners, I think it’s important to consider that IF Microsoft/Xbox do pull out of the console hardware market, then who challenges PlayStation? What’s stopping Sony from charging £700 for the PS6? Nintendo aren’t really trying to compete at the high end powerful console level, so it would just be PlayStation. Xbox are in a really difficult position, by focusing so much on Game Pass they have cornered themselves into this position. Particularly with a lot of their most popular franchises being multiplayer (Gears, Halo, now COD), these games benefit from having a large player base … best way to get that is to have them on all consoles. We need to see what Xbox say about these rumours next week, but right now I am worried for the future of the video games market if this is all true.
  10. 8 reviews for Suicide Squad now, OpenCritic score is currently at 60. A long way to go but if it stays at this score, that’ll be +5 points for @J4MES OX4D and -2 points for myself and @Andy_White_07!!
  11. As much as these games don’t appeal to me personally, I am always happy when PlayStation offer brand new games releasing on the service day one! I think they should do more of this. I will definitely try out Foamstars, unlikely il try the others.
  12. A Spanish website has posted the first review for Suicide Squad … and it’s a bad start for the game! Apparently Warner Bros are also refusing to give review codes to certain review outlets, including IGN! May be a while until we get the final OpenCritic score.
  13. Ok so entries are now closed! Only 4 of us have entered so only a small competition but should be fun to keep track of who is winning. A few fun stats from our entries: Top 3 games on average prediction: Hellblade 2 - 89.00 Star Wars Outlaws - 88.00 Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - 86.75 Bottom 3 games on average prediction: Skull and Bones - 69.00 Suicide Squad - 69.75 Alone in the Dark - 73.00 Our total average predictions: WelchyTV - 80.95 @Andy_White_07 - 80.58 @Luseth - 78.89 @J4MES OX4D - 78.00 Seems I am the most optimistic this year! Let’s see how the Suicide Squad reviews come out this week! Good luck all!
  14. Shame you had some problems with the game, but it’s good to hear your thoughts as most reviews have been very glowing about the game! I haven’t picked this one up and will likely just wait for it come to either Game Pass or PS Plus in a year or so. Hearing your thoughts has made me happy with that decision!
  15. Just a little reminder to anyone else who may want to take part in this game/challenge, entries will close tomorrow night due to the imminent launch of the first game of the list … Suicide Squad!
  16. I think the word spreading that this game is effectively Pokemon but with guns has spread like wildfire and everyone wants to see what the fuss is about! It’s also launching at a reasonable price and of course game pass helps. I haven’t picked it up yet but I’m sure I will at some point. My love of Pokemon has definitely fallen in recent years, but with every release I always hope the magic will be back. Maybe Palworld is the answer!
  17. Yeah I stopped using IGN for my reviews a long time ago for that reason! I can see a few sites enjoying the story maybe and giving it an 8, but think the overwhelming majority will be around the 6 mark. I guessed 71 hoping a few outliers will bump the score up!
  18. Nice review mate. Would agree with majority of points, my biggest issue with Ultimate Team is that you have to play religiously to be able to keep up and have a team that can compete, or you have to be willing to spend a lot of real money, or both!! As someone who likes to play a large variety of games, I don’t have the time to keep up with everyone else, and I’m definitely not giving EA any more money than the £70 I paid for the game. Other than that, I still enjoy the Career modes, clubs and normal online seasons. Interested in why you gave it a 6.9, and not just a 7?!
  19. I will be STUNNED if Suicide Squad gets an 84 … but stranger things have happened! Thanks for submitting predictions mate!
  20. Good to have you here Andy mate! I know there a lot of Warzone and FIFA players here that would be happy for you to join them!
  21. Thanks for the submissions so far! Quite interesting how different some of our scores are! Now that we’ve seen the Indiana Jones gameplay trailer, I’m pretty happy with my prediction! I think I have gone too high on Avowed though!
  22. Here are my predictions! Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - 71 Foamstars - 81 Helldivers 2 - 77 Skull and Bones - 68 Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - 91 Alone in the Dark - 76 Dragons Dogma 2 - 83 Princess Peach: Showtime - 82 Rise of the Ronin - 83 South Park: Snow Day - 80 Black Myth: Wukong - 87 STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl - 79 Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 - 75 Star Wars Outlaws - 84 Little Nightmares 3 - 83 Avowed - 81 Towerborne - 83 Hellblade 2: Senuas Saga - 89 Indiana Jones - 85
  23. Now that 2024 is here, I thought it would be fun to have a little Forever Gaming competition! I haven’t come up with a fancy name yet so I’m just calling it the OpenCritic Challenge 2024! The concept is simple, everyone who wants to take part predicts what they think the final OpenCritic score of the below list of games will be. Each player gets points based on how close their prediction is. The scoring system goes like this: Exact score - 5 points 1 score away - 3 points 2 scores away - 2 points 3 scores away - 1 point 10 or more points away - -2 points! For example, if you had predicted that Alan Wake 2 would score a 90 on OpenCritic, you would receive 3 points, as it scored an 89. Similarly, if you had predicted it would score a 78, you would lose 2 points. For those who may be unfamiliar with OpenCritic, it is a website that collects review scores from all the major review outlets and calculates an aggregate score. Hopefully there will be some interest to join in with this, I have listed the 2024 releases below, just copy and paste the list and add your scores. I will keep score and keep you updated throughout the year. If a game on the list ends up being delayed to 2025, we will just remove it from the predictions. Obviously there will be games coming out this year that haven’t been announced yet, if every participant is happy to do so we can add them in as and when they are announced and we can submit our predictions then. I haven’t added remasters, as chances our they will score similarly to their original release and becomes too easy to predict. Remakes have been included if they are a substantial enough remake, for example the Final Fantasy Rebirth game is a significant remake. Feel free to let me know if you disagree and we can collectively decide to remove them or add other ones. I am going to be recording a video for my YouTube channel discussing my predictions, if it’s ok with you I will discuss some other predictions as well as mine to make it interesting. If you would rather me not mention your predictions (I would only be using your username from the site, no real names) then just let me know when you submit your predictions. This is just for fun, no awards for winning. Unless anyone can think of a good idea for the prize, maybe a new Forever Gaming Badge? Last point, as the first game on this list releases on February 2nd, all entries will need to be submitted by the 28th January (I don’t think reviews for Suicide Squad will be out until 29th at the earliest). Also worth pointing out I haven’t added every single game releasing, there’s just too many! Here is the list, I will submit my predictions below. Good Luck! Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - Foamstars - Helldivers 2 - Skull and Bones - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - Alone in the Dark - Dragons Dogma 2 - Princess Peach: Showtime - Rise of the Ronin - South Park: Snow Day - Black Myth: Wukong - STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl - Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 - Star Wars Outlaws - Little Nightmares 3 - Avowed - Towerborne - Hellblade 2: Senuas Saga - Indiana Jones -
  24. I personally don’t have any nostalgia for the Tomb Raider games as I never played them when I was younger. However I know they are beloved games and probably ones I should at least try! I will wait and see what the reaction is when they release, we all remember the poor launch of the GTA remasters!
  25. Here it is, the Forever Gaming’s Game of the Year video! I really hope you all enjoy, I have enjoyed the whole game of the year process and making the video! Please do give me any feeeback, both positive and negative/constructive. I would love to do this again for you all at the end of 2024 so would love to get some feedback to improve! I have posted the link to the FG video below, and also the YT link if anyone wants to watch there. Once again, thank you all for participating in the Game of the Year voting, I’m sorry if your favourite game didn’t make the cut but I hope you enjoyed it anyway!
