  1. Does this help Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power Date: 2/1/2016 8:58:54 PM Event ID: 41 Task Category: (63) Level: Critical Keywords: (2) User: SYSTEM Description: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. 2. It could be I did not install a repair option if that is what was necessary. I was rather surprised also since the disk does provide me with the repair option. Will creating a repair disk help? I have a 1 TB hard disk which is about 15% full so it not because the HD space was not there. I think win only needs about 30 MB to install and have scratch space. I don't get it either, which is why I hate windows. Everything is a menu cluster fuck, but unfortunately most business apps aren't available for linux. Most engineer apps are available on Mac OS
  3. I've look at a lot of different logs. Which ones would be helpful? As for the memtests, they are the ones supplied with my ASUS motherboard, which is a ROG rampage IV board. Not a window Utility. I also had a look at the win7 repair option on the disk. Apparently my version of win is not compatible with repair? I have win7 home premium 64 bit? I might just suffer through this until the project is done and then upgrade to win10. If win10 fails then that would point to a hardware failure. if not, it would confirm that win7 needs repairing Can you upgrade to win10 and make the system dual boot?
  4. The following errors are reported by whocrashed This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code This indicates that a severe memory management error occurred This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x73C00) I did memory and hardware diagnostics on the system which runs fine so, I don't suspect faulty memory. I have 32G of mem on the system I also ran with with 16G only twice (upper/lower 16G) by removing the memory. So multiple modules would have to be damaged for that to be the problems which is possible but unlikely. Also win updates, no longer works correctly. It crashes when updating which is why I suspect the operating system
  5. Has anyone here repaired their windows 7 operating system? The desktop that I use to do my engineering work (which has a lot of software licenses locked to that PC) keeps crashing and getting blue screen errors. Normally I would re-install the operating system but since I am finishing a number of projects I do not want to risk upsetting the installed software. Upgrading to win8 is not an option until the projects are done. I've tried - operating in safe mode. Which is fine - reinstalled all my drivers and updated them - ran a check disk, no problems found - ran a hardware memory test and other diagnostics. No problems found - ran virus checks, no issue - ran system file check and repair. Found a corrected a number of files (all but 5). Some not checked because the are write protected and therefore not repairable - ran ICACLS.exe, nothing found Are there any utilities that someone knows of to try? Am I missing anything. I have a authentic install and disk. I think win7 has a repair option with the install disk but haven't looked or tried. I am concern that I would overwrite applications or data (which is all backup but I really don't want to have to re-install in the middle of a project) thanks
  6. As for the Wifi is it possible that you have the same IP address on multiple consoles and therefore they conflict? It sounds to me like there is an address conflict or the signals are interfering I know that my IP address is static in order to forward my ports, if the two consoles were setup the same way it would be a problem. Also run the network tests from the PS4 with the different situations. See what your signal strength says. Does the strength go down when the other device is turned off? I've notice something similar when my daughter uses her laptop. The connection goes to shit on the PS4 when she turns on the computer. Yet we have 5 other computers in the house, none of those affect anything. I haven't figured out why however. What does seem to help is to restart the router/modem Is your modem a dual band modem? Does your modem have the ability to prioritize traffic? Some modems can give a certain device or band higher priority that others. I know that the PS4 operates on the lower band which is usually the one that has lower priority (2.4 GHZ). Most device operate on the lower band which means they need to share the bandwidth
  7. Hey, hey, hey, I'm an old white guy. What's wrong with that Here's the guys BIO (I believe) http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Pete_Parsons Pete Parsons (a.k.a. Mango) was the Studio Manager at Bungie 2002 - 2006, as well as the executive producer of Halo 2. Essentially, his job is to supervise the team and making sure that their job is smooth and nothing will happen to hinder them in the production of the Halo game. Parsons, 38, left a senior marketing job at Microsoft to join the Halo crew as studio manager. He once said: "I'd been aBungie fan for a long time. They're an incredibly talented group of people who don't accept second best. I like the bar being set so high that falling off would kill you." He is currently working on a non-Halo project within Microsoft alongside Jeremiah, a.k.a. Ninja 0n Fire.
  8. You can buy one of the "wings" for the adventure for 700 gold in the store. There are 5 wings in total. You have to buy them in order I beleive Or you can pay cash ($25) for all 5 wings
  9. I like the Roge and Druid best. The game is very similar to Magic the Gathering in many ways. The mechanics are a lot simpler however. It use to be preferable to buy the basic packs with your gold. You might want to look into that. I haven't played since they added the 3rd pack set (grand tournament) so I don't know what those contain. You should also be aware that you can craft your own cards by disenchanting your other cards. That does not work with the basic cards however. The cards have to be the card pack cards.
  10. Wow, same game as BO2 same maps Well we better get our shotgun classes ready.
  11. It's extremely well done. The text at the beginning and the credits at the end basically show it isn't real. It looks to me like something that someone would do for their portfolio. I agree with you though it looks like it would make for a fun movie/game At least it isn't another reboot
  12. Try this link from you PC and it will tell you where you stand. You have the 7850 just like I do. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/fallout-4/12905/?p=r Apparently that will not do. If it's anything like Skyrim, the game is much better on PC than console. Consoles have gotten better, but so has PC gaming hardware
  13. Bummer. RIP Alan, you will be missed
  14. Well Keith is rather well pickled. He should have a a bit more shelf life
  15. Unfortunately a lot of the greats are in the late 60s and 70s so it's going to happen more and more. RIP David
  16. I saw it and I enjoyed it. I found that it had a lot in common with the original trilogy. They certainly did not want to mess with the original formula. They wanted to completely forget about he prequels. It will be interesting to see who is Ray's family in future movies In the Starwars Universe Ben is Luke's and Myra Jade's son. Not Solo's . So I would not be surprised if she were Luke's Daughter but Solo's/Leia would make more sense. Jaina Solo is the female that grows up to Kick serious ass in previous Starwars Universe stories. Since Ray seems to be Solo/Luke into one person she makes for an Interesting character
  17. Yep, It gets harder when you try to please everyone and people are getting older. My dad and his wife are in their late 70s, my inlaws are in their mid 80s so we are all aware that there are a limited number of Christmas left. It's not a particularly relaxing time. By the time it's over, we have to do new years That's usually with friends
  18. For us it changes somewhat every year depending who and where we go to celebrate We always go to Christmas eve service, usually as close as midnight as possible in the morning we open our presents (wife, son, daughter and me). Then some years we celebrate with my dad and his wife, my brother and his family and our family. Everyone takes turns hosting Christmas so it's never quite the same. For example my sister in law will invite her family when they host but not my wife's family. Same goes for us. Then sometimes we go to Toronto (where my wife's family lives) and one of my in laws will be hosting. There is always a big Christmas dinner and at that point the gifts are minimal because there are just too many people. Boxing day then depends where we are. We get together with the family that we missed on Christmas. Who hosts changes every year. In order to be able to see everyone we seem to have 4-5 Christmas dinners. The planning is also getting much more difficult since the majority of the kids are now in University and working. The only day off my son is getting this year is Christmas so that affects our planning. There's a lot of running around and weight gained. There's always turkey, ham, minced meat pie and lots of baked goods. Everyone contributes to the dinners and usually brings something. And every year we seem to have to drive in one snow storm
  19. Never having run the raid, what makes it hard mode as opposed to regular mode?
  20. EA told their share holders that the would sale 16M copies of this game. Hopefully dwindling players and them missing projected sales to their share holders will be enough to smarten up the industry and let them know that gamers are tired of half finished products. At least that's the optimist in me speaking.
  21. reduced 33% on the Canadian Playstation store I wonder if it's because of the movie coming out or sales are slower than expected
  22. Well, I have one in electrical Engineering. I typically don't make a big deal out of it or rarely use it. However, if you earned the degree, you are entitle to the the title if you want it.
  23. Ouch, those are the worst.
  24. Well they must be mechanical engineering PhDs rather than electrical then
  25. Maybe they had to learn Common core math
