  1. One of the main reasons I haven't invested in my PC gaming is because of how PCs over a short space of time for me become slow and not running at optimum performance.

Can somebody help me out to understand why this would be and what could be done to combat this? I want to understand if its continued maintenance of wiping and starting again or/and if I have to buy new equipment to keep it at the latest and best performance to be expected.

I even notice it on my laptop I have today which is only 2 years old but takes forever to turn on. I purposely also didn't download anything on it, not even games so I'd be grateful for your input.

  2. Not bad I've kinda have a love hate relationship with the Persona series but it looks cool its definitely a possibility for me

It seems like quite a lot to get your head around in the game but the anime graphics look so marmite different and I love them.

Which ones did you enjoy/hate and why? Would be good to know more about the series as I haven't played any of the previous 5 games.
  3. I bought my PC back in 2011 and have only upgraded the GPU (early 2013) yet it still can play most new AAA relases on the high preset with a framerate above 60fps at full 1080p.

Framerate and graphics are neither here or there for me. Unless you're comparing the SNES to an Xbox One to me the graphics aren't a deal breaker. It's great you get a little bit of a smoother screen res but it's all about the games and gameplay for me.

  4. Preaching to Lee on PC is pointless i know....but it's an honourable calling in life [emoji4]

I mentioned controller because that was one of your hang ups about PC gaming.

It's not pointless at all. I do want a PC. However, all great games in my life that I've enjoyed have been on consoles. I tried PC and it doesn't grip me for games like a console game does. Maybe its the controller, but for sure I hated over the years after installing a few things it would be slow to load even after system restore. I like the idea of packaged items that don't need tweaking. You have to move the times though as I'm well aware that the latest gen consoles are effectively PC Lite.

Dont forget though, you can't buy the community you get on console. That's where I met you guys.

Looking like a 6 teraflop system when a GeForce 1080 runs at 8.9 teraflops. Stronger than PS4 Pro for sure but at its projected price point... 499£ you're better off buying a pc.

Unfortunately I believe you'll come at an impasse soon where a PC will be the better option unless you can really sell these machines at 300.00 You can also use a controller.. Lee

This does feel more like a system that isn't designed for games but for all round life. I think companies are forgetting if you focus solely on games they will make a better system rather than get extra kudos for supporting UI crap.

Don't want to derail thread but I get the controller Rob, its just I get annoyed having to deal with PCs after a short time the performance always slows down as it isn't just for games. You don't get that with consoles. I'd have to keep upgrading with the times, which frustrates me. Its why I stopped investing in my PC many years ago.

  6. This JRPG is finally out on PS4 and has ridiculously high scores on Metacritic. The anime feel of the game looks incredible and it actually feels like you are watching one most of the time rather than playing. It is effectively turn based action like the JRPGs with puzzles along the way. Highly addictive feedback from the critics and with average user ratings so far of 9.3/10 of really tempted to try it out.

I thought the following review from Gameranx was helpful.

  7. I initially thought Jackal's perk was very OP, however it just feels like a longer Caveira perk but just on one Operator. I can live with that.

Mira seems very adaptable on certain maps when you the key points around a zone that you're looking to defend. I've still got to commend Rainbow Six for actually continuing to bring Operators out that compliment team play for different scenarios and environments.

  8. Sounds like a new event is upcoming real soon. A tweet from the Blizzard Australia/NZ account leaked a video surrounding 'King's Row Uprising' that happened 7 years ago and is 'Confidential'...until April 11th/12th.

Jeff Kaplan said in a recent interview with PC Games:

“We’ve heard the call that a lot of players want a non-real-world-tied event, meaning they want some sort of set event in the Overwatch world,” explains Kaplan, regarding reception to the large, seasonal events that have kept Overwatch on top these past few months.

“The event is going to be something - when players see the event and play the event, I think they’ll see that we’ve been listening to their feedback,” he continues, confirming - as many have assumed - that there will be a playable element to the April 11th/12th event.

If they are really developing the PvE side somewhat this will be fascinating to see and get to grips with. It's already a gripping game, even if you're getting hammered (well, we keep playing one more game) and I think this is the part that really requires some broadening. Hopefully some further lore will come within the game too.

  9. Well, to say last night we took one hell of a beating would be an understatement. Pretty sure it was the whole night without a win. Still, we seemed to have close matches until we buckled in certain strongpoints which quickly turned into being steamrollered most matches.

  10. Some sales on psn store. Until April 26th it seems.

There's more but these seem the most popular.

  11. Do you know if they will look to chane the saved game from local server in the future? It would be great to have an FG saved map for all of us to join when we want to.

Also, do we know if they will increase the max players up from 4? Phil said its a lot more on PC I believe?

  12. This week Microsoft will be teasing their new console spec ahead of E3, which should be a full unveiling.

It is expected to have 4k uncompromised gameplay and potentially more powerful than the ps4 pro - Terraflops and memory to be considerably larger.

Talks have been we'll see Red Dead 2 being run on it to show its capability. That might be at E3 but its good to hear what we'll be looking forward to seeing on the day.

  15. Thanks for sharing Rob. It would be great if we can do this at least once. However, it sucks that we can't party up across the Atlantic. Maybe we should resurrect the GameBattles one too?

  16. For the record SIVA strikes are so enjoyable. I mean the variance in how they shape up now, with the taken or SIVA change ups really add to it. Even with little puzzle steps like forming the portal with Vex.

So glad I'm back on this.

  17. Did the tutorial and a few bronze missions with the engineer.

It feels a little clunky with button options not obvious choices but that's probably just me. The jumping and dashing is a little square-shaped and not fluid as I'd hoped. I don't think it will take away from the fun factor too much. Progression seems quite difficult with low level players as you reach Wave 6 and 7.

Could see if we could get some MP rounds in at some point later this week if anyone is around? May be better in a co-ordinated group.

    Via the FG App

  18. Crispy, Stretch and I ran a few SIVA strikes last night, only for a few hours and it was really profitable. Gained 6 light to 387 now. Dropped a Dragon's Breath as well.

Clearly we're all getting nearer to a level where we can attempt some raids this week.

Who's around this week so I can see if I can help sort a few out, even if they are normal to start so we get the hang of it again?

  19. After Moana got delivered and watched this morning, took the boy to the cinema to watch Power Rangers today.

Really love these type of films and whilst I think it was a different to what was expected; the rangers backgrounds are a little badder than expected of rangers and it takes a while to see them but it was worth it to see the spinetingly moment when they come together. Good casual watch.
