I'll be going off in a few days for my summer holiday with the family so radio silence from me will commence on Tuesday for a week. I'm expecting to feel rejuvenated with more annoying PMA to get your arses engaged for an awesome few months coming up. Some big games that us as a community can get behind but also tons of stuff I want us all to be involved in and have a laugh with - as thats what its all about innit? Many people don't realise FG is more than just a forum and we have tons of stuff covered here which we want to make more use of. Its all down to us and thats what we'll be committing too. I think the best way to show all the stuff we do is by the infographic below - I wonder how many people realise we do all of this....: It's clear to see we have so much stuff to do as a group and a family of awesome people. We just need to make it all more accessible and get thing smoving again. So, with that said, whilst i'm away i'd like some input from all of you, newbies or veterans, to give us your say on the following areas. There's clearly more around but lets get to it FGers!! #GGFG

We now have full Steam Profile integration through FG. Its a really powerful tool so I suggest you should link your Steam account via your Profile in the menu. Would love to bring more like this from other platforms but isn't saomething readily available but we will keep looking out for this information and update you all when we can get more integrations and cool support links. You can see what games you own and others so you can see if theres a game you share to get a group up session going. Also shows your steam profile scores and badges GO AND LINK YOUR STEAM ACCOUNTS NOW On your Profile it looks like this: Once clicked you'll see all your owned games. I believe you see latest badges earned (if I actually earned any!) When you're browsing and posting it looks like this: And when you hover someones profile: Hope its a welcome addition to this place for people who use Steam here. Any questions, just shout up.

So I've been thinking about this for a while now. We need to come out and ask all of you which do you prefer. This is something that I want to try and make happen because its difficult when a lot of us are splintered across different channels so by doing this will mean we will ask every single FGer to join whichever the appropriate chat service. To be very very clear with this - The Website is still the central hub for all FG things. The chat service we have is complimentary to the website, not a replacement. Being part of FG means we all have a duty to come and check everyones stuff out here, not just the forum elements. I always said i'd keep this going because it is our family place and we all need that, but I will have to tailor where my effort goes if we don't start supporting this place moving forward. I'll put the obvious pros and cons from my view on each option below if you don't understand what they are. WhatsApp The main service thats commonly used today through a lot of FGers. Likely most people already use this Everyone that uses must share their phone number and be happy that FGers can see it. Not many want to share their number Its quick, easy to use We will only have one chat, not a plethora of groups we can't keep up with It has a Desktop version as well as App based To find something would prove difficult - there is no intergration with the website so all notifications for videos, quizzes, events, etc will have to be manually shared Discord Has the ability to have multiple group chats within the FG Discord - like a destiny lfg, overwatch lfg, etc The FG Discord is not commonly used by many FGers currently You don't have to share your mobile phone number - you create a unique login that people can be tagged Its different to WhatsApp - so may take a few people to understand how different it is We can link your posts, videos, quizzes, etc to automatically notify you in FG Discord Its another app to download. People over time may not check it Chatbox Keeps it within the website where most of our stuff is for everyone It means you have to be on the website to utilise so not has responsive as other chats It links to everyones profiles on FG so people know who is who Notifications don't comne through instant as its on a web browser - we are still working on https This also doesn't mean we are ditching the ones that don't win, it is more so I can feel comfortable that we have at least one place where every single FGer is so we can contact everyone for group up games and info we wanna get out there ASAP.

Well, first time Deadline Day was exciting again. Although, the really good deals never materialised. I expected Spurs and Man Utd to come out on top and at one stage Spurs were there but somehow managed to lose the best deals. Shame that. Everton making big moves although getting Iwobi instead of Zaha for 40 odd million seems a weird one. Weirdly I know think Arsenal look alright mainly because everyone else didn't do well. On a personal note, 1 in 1 out for Blackburn. Was really surreal and odd to hear we'd loaned Charlie Mulgrew, Club Captain to Wigan (of all teams). But it kinda makes sense as he wasn't going to be played as much and has made some howlers last year, which he continued to do on the first game of the season.

VAR is the one. We'll see if and when it gets used tonight in the first game. One positive note is that the Referee's man in charge has confirmed they are going to try and keep to the stonewall decisions so i'm hoping we don't get to see soft penalties given after 7 minutes of stopped play.

I kinda missed it when it went down to a fiver. Now its gone back up around 15/20 - its still not much but i'm really worried it won't be me. it feels like a Minecraft in Space. I kinda get lost not knowing what to do when I don't have big shiny objectives in my face. I think I play games so I have to think too much 😂 I'd like to know more about co-operative play. If there was something worthwhile doing as group then it would definitely become more interesting and valuable for me.

I just don't get people sometimes.

Sigh. I'm not sure anyone here would defend any/all the points that the number of US politicians have been passing the buck to Video Games. I'd love to hear the facts if they had any.

Welcome aboard @Lemmy! Phil is quite correct but its just a few of us. It is an awesome game though and hopefully more get it now the price has dropped significantly. FPS....is that things like Overwatch and CoD? Btw, we aren't the greatest by a mile but as we always say 'If you're having FUN, you've already WON' 😀😂 Hope you enjoy your stay at FG bud.
