I think all Call of Duties are the same shit with the exception of guns and maps. I've seen James talk about the small amount of people online playing Ghosts and guess what? Still laggy. You'd think they'd get better over the years, but they don't. That's why I'm kind of over this franchise. Ghosts has been a joke and I probably will not show excitement for another CoD until it's only next gen. CoD 4, MW2 and hell even W@W were a hell of a lot better than the crap they've put out the past few years.

I shall try this Favela remake whenever I'm free. But it certainly won't make me like the game any better.

Never had a connection problem as bad as Black Ops, Black Ops 2, MW3, or Ghosts. CoD 4 & MW2 had the perfect connection for me. That's why it beats the rest. /topic

Commander_Undies reacted to tronic44 in Ethiopia's Blue Volcano
Saw this yesterday and thought it was pretty amazing so wanted to share it.

IT'S a volcano, but not as we know it. This cerulean eruption takes place in the Danakil Depression, a low-lying plain in Ethiopia. The volcano's lava is the usual orange-red – the blue comes from flames produced when escaping sulphuric gases burn.

French photographer Olivier Grunewald creates such images without using colour filters or digital enhancement, which is no simple task. To get this shot he had to wait until dusk, when the electric blue flames were visible, but before all the daylight had ebbed away. Then the wind had to be blowing away from him so he could get close enough. Photographing the similarly sulphurous Kawah Ijen volcano in Indonesia, where he worked inside the crater, was even more treacherous. "We have to take care when the winds push the flames close to us," he says. "In Danakil it is easier to escape as the land is flat."

Grunewald works in a gas mask to avoid breathing in the deadly fumes – but photographing Kawah Ijen still left him with peeling skin and clothes smelling of rotten eggs for weeks afterwards.

Another drawback of Grunewald's subject matter is that the acidic gases don't agree with his cameras. But it's worth it, he says. "The phenomenon is so uncommon – we really feel like we are on another planet."

No idea if this has been posted anywhere before?

    Hello!
We’re finally able to share news about Minecraft on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita.
Apologies for the delay, but putting Minecraft on new consoles is a serious business. People have been using phrases like “logistically-speaking,” “infinite terrain,” and “platform parity”  for months now.
We’ve decided that letting current players upgrade for a small fee is the best way to show our appreciation. If you’re a new crafter who’s looking to pick up Minecraft in the next few months – welcome!
We hope this post makes you happy!

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be released on Xbox Live Marketplace in August. It brings significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than Xbox 360 Edition. It will include all the features from the most recent Xbox 360 title update. Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will cost $19.99. If you’ve bought Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition from Xbox Live Marketplace, or played online with the disc version, you will be able to upgrade to Xbox One Edition for $4.99. You will be able to upgrade for a minimum of a year after the release date. Players with Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition saves will be able to import their worlds to Xbox One. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer saves from Xbox One to Xbox 360. We can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems. Cross platform play will not be possible between Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Many, but not all, of the DLC skins and texture packs you’ve purchased for Xbox 360 Edition will be available for use in Xbox One Edition. We’d like to say all your DLC would transfer, but some of the items are trapped in licensing deals that are too boring to get into here. We’ll have more on this soon.
Minecraft: Playstation 3 + Vita Edition will be available on the PSN in August. It will include all the features from the most recent Playstation 3 version, including online play on Vita. This means everyone who has bought Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition from PSN will get it on Vita for free. Those fluent in Sony-speak might refer to the deal as “Cross-buy.” We are working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment to look into ways to enable upgrade from the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition to Minecraft: Playstation 3 and Vita. We’ll have more info on this closer to release. Minecraft: Playstation 3 + Vita Edition will cost $19.99. It doesn’t matter if you buy for PS3 or Vita first, you own the game for both platforms. Saves are transferrable between the Playstation 3 and Vita versions of Minecraft. You will be able to craft at home on your Playstation 3, then continue on the bus/toilet with your Playstation Vita. All of the DLC you’ve purchased for Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition will work on Playstation 3 + Vita Edition.
Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition will be released on the PSN in August. It brings significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than Playstation 3 + Vita Edition. It will include all the features from the most recent Playstation 3 version. Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition will cost $19.99. Commander_Undies got a reaction from Megan in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare | Confirmed List
Developers: Sledgehammer Games (Xbox One, PS4, and PC) // Another studio (TBA) (Xbox 360 & PS3)

Available November 4th on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC.

    Official Description:
Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare, developed by Sledgehammer Games (co-developers of Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3), harnesses the first three-year, all next-gen development cycle in franchise history. Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award® winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.

    Campaign:
Players will be playing as Private Mitchell, voiced by Troy Baker. The campaign is set after a massive catastrophic attack “similar to 9/11.” Game opens with an attack by the KVA, an international terrorist organization equipped with EXO Suits. Mitchell will be fighting alongside Will Irons, son of Jonathan Irons, to stop the attack on the US soil. Afterwards, Jonathan Irons confronts Mitchell and hires him to join Atlas PMCs. Mitchell accepts his offer and starts working for him. Set in the year 2054. Features new “Exoskeletons” design for soldiers. Private Military Corporations (PMCs) have become dominant armed forces for countless nations outsourcing their military needs. Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – the most powerful man in the world within the game. Irons runs the Atlas Corporations – the main company and villain in the game. A PMC has emerged with the power to rescue humanity from a devastated world struggling to rebuild after a global attack on its military and infrastructure. Game features technological advancements and high-tech gear. Features a new HUD which makes the entire action more immersive. The typical “Follow” icon from previous games has been changed to now be a part of your HUD and improved to be more futuristic. Game no longer features the typical Call of Duty campaign loading screens with the random voice talking quickly about your objective. Narration is key to SHGames, the loading screens will tell more of a story and give you more information as you play. Advanced Warfare has only one protagonist. Sledgehammer Games wants the technology in the game to be realistic – be things that can actually happen in the future. Exo Suits can be upgraded after each mission; amount of upgrades you can do will depend upon how many points you have. A female soldier plays a major role in the campaign; she’s introduced after the second-third mission of the game. If a soldier has to be dropped into a mission from the air, it is done via drop pods. Campaign Missions:
“Induction” – Seoul, South Korea – First Mission of the game. “BioLab” – This mission revolves around the stealth aspect, and for the first time they showed the invisibility ability in action. You use the invisibility to pass by a big portion of the area to remain undetected from the drones and enemies. “Collapse” – San Francisco, CA - This was a very exciting and action packed mission. It takes place in San Francisco; some of the gameplay is in the Advanced Warfare Reveal Trailer. New Player Abilities:
You are the advanced soldier: through boost jumps and grappling, covert cloaking abilities, and biomechanics that provide unparalleled strength, awareness, endurance, and speed. Players can also climb walls, boost-dodge, use zip lines, perform super-jumps, cloak themselves with optic camo, and hover in mid-air. New Exoskeleton armor will fundamentally change some of the abilities and features within Call of Duty. You can jump out of the way of enemies, sort of like a side ways dash jump. New Arsenal:
New “variable grenades”, that can be cooked from a concussion grenade to a threat-detector. Threat-detection grenade highlights enemies via an augmented reality system visible in your visor. Some weapons are energy-based, and do not use traditional ammunition. New vehicle: Pitbull, which is based on the real world Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle. New walking tank in the game, moves on its own. Multiplayer:
Exo Suits will be in multiplayer. Gadgets will “not be OP”. Female soldiers are returning. Other:
Game being built on a whole new engine and a whole new audio engine. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC comes FIRST to Xbox One & Xbox 360. Advanced Warfare will have some sort of a co-op mode, TBA later.
