  1. For the past six or so years, I have lost interest in the latest COD game by Christmas. Some of them haven't even been all that bad but I've just not had the desire or motivation to continue playing. These games usually get discounted 30-40% just weeks after release anyway now as Activision make a pre-xmas sales push so there's not much incentive to jump in day one. The 'pre-season' phase as they call it is also supposed to be the most enjoyable part of the game because when the seasons start then it's usually the die hard tryhards left and the monetisation aspect is also turned up to 11. It's not like the old days where it was just casual fun at any time of the year. Also the underlying gameplay systems like SBMM subtly impact matches and can have a big impact on how people feel about their experience - it's what turned me off Cold War last year and it all became incredibly exhausting rather than enjoyable. Having played the beta, this game is worth nowhere near full price although it does promise quite a bit of content at launch although it doesn't look all that great - quantity over quality essentially. This probably would have been a great package back in 2016 or so. I'd see how things are come the end of November but there doesn't seem to be much appeal from the wider community this time out.
  2. I think some users were a bit oblivious to the bugs whilst others were playing the gameplay so safe, they didn't encounter ones that stemmed from aggressive play or utilising the mechanics to the max. I did watch a video where the creator said that they didn't notice any bugs yet from the footage, you could clearly see issues left, right and centre. Performance and rendering problems which were dependent upon the users specs and settings also seemed vary significantly and added to the visual bug aspect.
  3. Looks like they'll be out in December for a whopping £70/$70 whilst the old versions are being removed from their respective digital stores. I was expecting £34.99 at a push - even the PS4 one is £60. Mafia's Definitive edition which included a brand new game cost £49.99 tops. This is another ridiculous cash grab so the gameplay actually better have a significant upgrade to even remotely justify it. GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will cost $70, physical versions coming December – report WWW.VG247.COM Rockstar may be ready to push Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition as a premium title, and boxed version may be coming in December.
  4. This game less than a month ago was due to be released in 12 days time too. I don't even see the point of us playing a beta seeing that it was an older build and the state it was in wont do them any favours no matter how much they play it down. Based on DICE's consistent track record for broken betas that lead into even more broken and shitty releases, this game wont be in a fit state until March 2022. It beggars belief we couldn't even view the map so either basic features are broken or they are being implemented at the 11th hour. Biggest worry is that no more footage will be provided before release and then everyone gets lumbered with a catastrophic mess at launch yet again!
  5. Looks like EA will be moving away from the FIFA branding (albeit retaining the licence) and instead calling their future title EA Sports FC which is expected to be a free to play platform similar to that eFootball shite and the upcoming UFL. Whilst I don't think EA's football games will be too affected by the change in terms of them persisting with the proven but limited Frostbite Engine, the model will be hugely different but I'm sure they'll be more in-tune to the plan than what Konami were. It's quite sad to see what football games have become and it's only gonna get worse https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-10-11-ea-trademarks-ea-sports-fc-as-it-mulls-ditching-fifa-licence
  6. None of the games have online play but each one comes with a magnificent standalone story. Vice City and San Andreas will definitely go down in videogame folklore.
  7. I tried the PS4 beta before it ended just out of sheer curiosity and it's got its own problems although it isn't as bad as it could've been. Firstly, it actually ran well but this was dependent on the amount of AI bots that were in the lobby - the more real players that joined, the worse performance seemed to get. I'd say it tops out at 60 but with strong dips below 40 and no real stability. There was also only 3 capture sectors as opposed to 6 and it felt incredibly barren with just 64 players. Even 128 on the current gen doesn't feel enough at times. The visuals still looked pretty decent but there was clear instances where buildings and other assets didn't render fully until you were up close. Not Cyberpunk bad but still disappointing to see. Gameplay felt underwhelming and slow overall. Anyone buying this version will definitely get a significantly inferior experience and for an upgrade-possible copy, it will cost £90/$100. If I didn't have a PS5 and couldn't run it on my PC, I'd struggle to consider playing this personally.
  8. Played a couple more matches today and those will probably be my last. If this is an old but stable build then there really is nothing the community can say or do to change anything. I just didn't feel like I was ever having fun even outside of all the bugs and shoddy design. With DICE's miserable release record, I can't see much changing from now until launch in 5 weeks time. The guns are also really bland and lack punch and I'm seeing classic issues with the overall netcode. They haven't even got the elevators working properly plus all the other absent functions. The squad size needs to be upped to 6 with a player count this big and they need to do away with the woeful specialists. The class system was perfectly fine and if they want to add additional gimmicks then they don't need to go the R6 or COD route by adding these characters which all look absolutely dreadful especially with their wonky animations. Just like Vanguard, everyone wears the same clothing too. I do think there could be a good game under the hood especially if the other maps are decent and they iron out the issues but we're weeks from launch for christ sake.
  9. I cannot believe they've removed the manual defibrillator and instead replaced it with a one-button action - not only that, the button required is the same for picking up weapons so you go to revive someone, don't receive a revive prompt and instead you pick up their gun. Absolutely retarded.
  10. Tried the PS5 version which seemed very smooth but far less spectacular than on PC in terms of match fluidity. Took me a while to settle back with a controller and there doesn't seem to be significant aim assist although headshots can be pulled off quite regularly. Navigating the UI with a pad is horrible though. I'm really not holding out much hope with the final release next month especially with DICE's shameful track record. This may be a beta but it's likely not too different than what we'll get. DICE are pretending it's an older build which is utter horsehit because the files indicate it's from week 3 of September. If this was the case and we did get a stable but outdated version then that would completely negate the point of a beta by its true conceptual definition. Right now, they are protecting their pre-orders and mitigating any concerns by playing it off as an old build but it's just not the case and people need to see through this PR nonsense. The shoddy animations, the relentless terrain clipping, visual bugs and woeful UI is just too much for them to rectify along with the rest. Even if it was put back until March 2022, it still wouldn't be long enough with their history. 18 months it took them to rectify the BF4 netcode and eradicate the critical invisible barrier issues with explosives. The game will still be in beta on release except with all the content. I have had some fun but for long durations in matches I've been bored and the gameplay lacks logic and flow. I think the maps are just too big and/or the player counts are. The beta should remain open right through until release if they are serious about fixing issues. This is nothing more than a PR event and all the feedback that could possibly be given has already been taken during the large alpha phases. They'll end the beta and keep the players in the dark until launch. I'm really on the fence but I know this game will launch a right state.
  11. It's confirmed Coming later this year
  12. Can you not edit your class pre-match? I seem to be faffing around with a barebones gun right at the start. Kinda annoying. The attachment quick change needs some actual detail - it's easy to switch but they really need to add the actual names of stuff rather than bloody icons to decipher along with their descriptions which you have no time to read - kinda defeats the purpose of the functionality. I don't think you should be able to customise your gun to this degree on the fly either - maybe add/remove your attachment but not to this level of changing things.
  13. Had one game just now on PC and it was pretty decent. Mechanics feel familiar and the game looks good. Animations are very poor at times though especially when looking at enemy air vehicles - I saw a couple of jets do instant 360's and infantry movement can appear erratic and wonky. The user interface is far too busy and I hope elements can be disabled, scaled down or minimised until relevant to the player. Maps will take a while to learn but I found it quite difficult at times to spot the objective and when capturing, it needs to be clearer - not as clear as the sector report bars which take up 10% of the bloody screen but something just a little tidier that doesn't blend in to all the other onscreen shite. Games like this you can lose your bearings quite easily especially when trying to manage your squad, the objective, gear and the enemies in an instant. Got to see the rocket go off Also a five man feed including 4 with one grenade!
  14. We're at COD levels of silliness with these specalists
  15. That's what I mean - viewers donating to streamers who are already making £50,000 a week from just subs alone - streamers should make all donations go towards charities instead because 99% of them also have lucrative sponsorships on top. I remember reading last year that some top-tier ones sometimes get paid upwards of $60,000 by major publishers just to feature their game for a 4 hour stream. Funnily enough some of the smaller streamers have donation limits and run frequent charity streams but Twitch is plagued with these champagne socialists who exude poverty and then go and buy $3m houses after guilting their audience. I think a lot of people will regret blowing so much money on these streamers later in life especially the likes of Pokimane fans🤣 New article Twitch in crisis as it blames server error for massive data breach | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM All down to a configuration change, apparently.
  16. This is why donations should go to charities instead of making rich people even richer. It's insane money really.
  17. It's kinda weird that they have a huge bar appear at the top for some alerts which could easily be communicated via audio or just by looking at the current score/capture points.
  18. This happened early yesterday and it was a massive breach Security experts aghast at the scale of Twitch hack: 'This is as bad as it could possibly be' | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM How bad is it? According to IT security pros, really bad.
  19. GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition achievements leaked - launch imminent METRO.CO.UK References to remasters of the three PS2 era GTA games have been found in...
  20. General consensus so far from users is that it's rough around the edges and performance is a worry. A lot of work needed in the next few weeks it seems. Another delay could be a prospect depending on the wider reception but I think they'll just chuck it out and hope for the best. Even a Brokenfield will be more appealing than COD at this rate.
  21. It's a cracking list of games - I've grabbed one so I don't want to be greedy plus a large amount I already own but definitely if your Steam library is light, there is some excellent titles there.
  22. Seems they've also lost sight of the meaning of Ghost Recon = an stealth espionage team of infantry yet now it's just a generic brand name and to hell with the concept. People have also been begging for a new Splinter Cell for an eternity but Ubisoft continues to shaft and ignore fans. They are gonna need a miracle with Rainbow Six Extraction, XDefiant and this after the shambles that was Hyper Scape. God knows what they've concocted for the free version of The Division too..
  23. Says it all
