Weird. If you're playing in front of a TV then you may as well have a console. Can't see too many people buying Xbox Game Pass, a controller but not getting the console. Not a fan of Cloud gaming either and the Stadia proved it was a fragile and needless concept with way too many drawbacks. Probably an attempted move to stifle Sony TV sales on top. Really can't see this taking off or having any key benefits.
Sensible decision. They were never going to get away charging full price for this - what is essentially a continuation of the live service that they've neglected for the last 3 years. Game is out in October

MW 2019 was mechanically and visually a really big step up but the map design was all over the place, the emphasis on doors was silly and there wasn't enough content. There was some really outlandish design decisions and even spawn-trapping made a return. It was a big step forwards and then a couple of strides back.
I also hate how sliding is ingrained in every bloody FPS now - in Cold War you could literally slide up hill and there was no movement penalty plus users had infinite sprint. I really hope these casual elements don't worm their way in to MW2 and it becomes distressingly dumbed-down. Users running lightweight classes on the slide with stim is just nauseating to play against.
I played TLOU Remastered on my PS5 earlier this year and it ran perfectly at 60fps. I think it was probably upscaled 4K but even so it ran perfectly and looked fantastic. Either this is a cash grab or they are looking to expand the narrative with some deranged politics like they did in the sequel.

Microsoft have been awfully hands-off so far - personally IMO I don't think they will make a presence on the Activision Blizzard brand until the lawsuit drama is concluded and CEO Bobby Kotick is ousted. They've already cancelled COD for next year so I'm guessing they will allow for all their existing projects to publish, let everything blow over and then get a foothold in the company. I wouldn't be surprised if they re-branded it either just to bury the negative image that has plagued them in the last decade.
It's still an Activision-branded title - Microsoft just own the company. I don't think they'd want their name anywhere near titles like Diablo Immortal 🤣
Last night I decided to research the microtransaction framework in more detail and within the first 5 minutes I already had a monumental migraine - you literally need a degree just to be able to understand it. The really crafty thing about it is that they have you by the balls the whole way - you can spend £250 and then will need to keep spending to this tune to make any continuous progress.
Game is also now the 3rd worst rated of all time on Meta sitting side by side with Blizzard's Warcraft Reforge.
Over 6 months late
I can't see too many people returning for this as the damage has been done. It's also more to save their own skin legally that to redeem themselves with the community. Despite several major u-turns on game design and philosophy, they are still determined with Specialists and will probably use game as a testing platform to see how it can be implemented for the foreseeable. Pity because the new developers working under Zampella know exactly what's required to make a BF title but they are still heavily in EA's pockets.
The version they are releasing was actually finished in 2008 and intended for Xbox Live Arcade but red tape with the IP holders stalled the entire thing for almost 15 years. It's been their loss for an eternity as people have by gagging for this for many years, even long before the original Perfect Dark appeared on the 360. It's such a shame the James Bond licence is so under-used in gaming - the owners are really missing out especially when there is a game ready to go right under their noses!
Xbox GoldenEye 007 Remaster Looks Closer Than Ever After Achievements are Spotted - IGN

A GoldenEye 007 remaster on Xbox appears more and more likely as Microsoft now has the game's achievements listed on its official website.
Thankfully Capcom always have a team working on mainline IP's. The likes of EA though are pulling and pushing staff in all directions away from new projects into remastering old titles for quick cash. I can't complain about Capcom as they always seem to deliver quality, never have delays or mislead. If they were just doing old games then I'd question their ambitions but for the last few years they've always given us something in each one.
