  1. Saw this and it got me thinking http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11/28/comically-terrible-ashes-2013-game-officially-cancelled - what a shocker! Any other baduns' you've played or discovered past and present?
  2. I cancelled my PS4 preorder as Watch Dogs was delayed which was a major blow for both consoles as that game was a prime example of the next gen capabilities. Ubisoft really screwed up something terrible with that clanger! The only other game; Ghosts I already have on the PC although FIFA 14 is something I am gutted not to be playing. Both consoles have had a tough release in terms of exclusive titles but the PS4 looks to have a much brighter gaming future with a wealth of games on a very powerful system. Hopefully I'll pick one up closer towards the summer and the price may drop or there could be more appealing bundles with better games. The Xbox One has a tough job of appealing to the sensible gamers and I can't see that doing very well for the first year for sure. It is just the most expensive TV remote ever and it seems to be for lazy people who have to shout and wave their arms about just to turn the machine on instead of pressing a button! PS4 for sure but not at this moment in time.
  3. I like most of the maps and there are only a few iffy ones such as Chasm and Seige. I love cranked as the mode is limited to a select map rotation in which all of them are of a very high quality and are dead suitable for the mode.
  4. Yeah the operations and squad points are a major fail and have been poorly utilised. There is definitely more campers in this game now which is why Cranked is my saviour! I really do miss challenge unlocks. Squad points are worse than the COD points system that Black Ops 1 used. The camo unlocks are really disappointing too with a bad structure. I miss the MW2 system for this
  5. I don't pay much attention to the World Rankings in football as they usually seem flawed (England in 4th a few months ago - DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!) but the current top 10 are all very decent international sides. I think Belgium could prove a stern challenge to make significant headway in football over the next few years so I'd watch out for them. The more England drop down; the less hope they have of crucial seedings in the future so we really need to make ground in Rio next year else we'll be in groups of dealth for the foreseeable...
  6. I thought Black Ops 2 was decent but Ghosts feels like a true COD game. I think Treyarch played it far too safe with BO2; it just felt a bit too clean, colourful and tidy. I am delighted to have the Strike Packages back - Black Ops 2's scorestreaks were very dull and the fact you couldn't assign them by class really annoyed me when flitting between modes. The weapons I found pretty bland in all honesty too. Ghosts has had its issues early on but there is a great game in there. I'm missing theater and the combat record but on the whole; this is an exceptional Call of Duty title that's on par with the likes of COD4 and MW2. Just wish IW supported the PC version a bit more but post-last patch; I've noticed a reasonable improvement that needs to remain.
  7. Deus Ex GOTY £1.99 System Shock II £1.74
  8. I've read quite a few reviews today in relation to the Xbox One and in general comparison to the Playstation 4. Practically all sites are heavily favouring the PS4 in terms of experience, performance, value and potential. I think we all expected this regardless of the retractions Micro$oft made post-reveal and despite me being an avid 360 console gamer over the years; they have really got their just-deserts for their general stinking attitude towards gamers and games alike. I think the PS4 will outsell the One by a considerable margin come Xmas by around a 5:1 ratio and seeing they are toe to toe at the mo; the worldwide lauch of the PS4 tomorrow will gulf the margin between the two consoles which could dictate the future of the consoles very early on indeed. I think even the hardest Xbox fans can see this is a calamity of a 'console' so far and the only thing Microsoft can offer in the immediate future is a couple of exclusives and a few DLC exclusivity deals. It serves them right for their horrendous approach and downright ignorance towards the gamers over the years who spent so much money and gave them so much support in their venture. Well done to Sony for practically coming back from the dead and delivering a proper gaming experience!
  9. Just found a vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvjSD34ixOI Family Guy has been in decline for years I feel and this will probably send it over the edge. The remaining fans don't seem very impressed.
  10. In the post-match summary if you press select after the game whilst in the lobby, you get a squad point prompt to the right of the XP rank growth bar
  11. I'm hearing he has been killed off on Family Guy from the November 24th episode!?
  12. Ah that explains it! I've accumulated nigh-on a thousand and didn't know how. I still think the system is a bit too generous but is pretty ideal for purchasing the high-value soldiers
  13. The Witcher 2 for £7.49 is a good deal. Portal Double Pack for £4.49 Assassins Creed III £9.99 Age of Empires III Complete £10.09 Spelunky £5.99 The Orange Box £7.49 Rampant deals being upped!
  14. Autumn Sale: Bioshock Infinite £12.49 Skyrim £3.74 Left 4 Dead 2 £3.74 The Walking Dead £5.24 Sleeping Dogs £3.99 Outlast £5.09 Counterstrike GO £5.99 Garrys Mod £2.99 State of Decay £10.09 Skyrim Legendary £10.19 Civilization 5 Gold £14.99 The Stanley Parable £7.49 Borderlands 2 £9.99 Dark Souls £6.79 Far Cry 3 £9.99 Assassins Creed II £4.99 Valve Complete Collection (25 games) £25!
  15. Coming out next month! Just imagine in 10 years we may have GTA 5 on our mobiles:-0
  16. I mostly play Cranked now thanks to players not playing the objective. Kill Confirmed is horrendous solo and Domination is hit and miss. At least Headquarters and Hardpoint encouraged objective play from each player. I went 41-34 on Kill Confirmed earlier with 44 tags out of a possible 65 and the next best player went 33-4 with 6 tags - we lost thanks to that camping moron. 6 bloody tags FFS!! I am giving up with KC now despite having a blast on it in the last couple of COD games - if it wasn't for Cranked; I'd be stumped for a good mode to play and enjoy consistently.
  17. I usually play Domination and Kill Confirmed in Call of Duty but I'm finding myself completely addicted to Cranked to the extent I'm in the top 100 on PC - this is a reflection of how much I've been playing the mode and not how good I am at it;-) It's really good for ranking up fast although this isn't one of the reasons why I primarily opt for the mode but the points on show are very high for seemingly minimal work. I am still not completely sure how the frantic scoring works but even 15 or so kills can see you walking away with the equivalent of 35 kills in TDM in half the time. The games come thick and fast and so do the kills. It's a bit annoying if you are lagging but if you get 'cranked', you can really build on the kills in rapid time. The mode is tied to a reduced map-rotation with the likes of Freight, Tremor, Sovereign, Strikezone, Prison Break and Octane popping up regularly but this isn't so bad as most in the list are some of the better ones associated with the game. The likes of larger maps such as Siege, Chasm and Stonehaven aren't to be seen. This makes for matches lasting from between 3 to 6 minutes at most and points are fairly rife to accumulate. You can also walk away with some huge killchains in quick succession on people that aren't cranked. A good start is very important as if you fall behind, you may fall victim to numerous opposition that are cranked and the match can be lost and you could walk away with a very bad score. On the whole, this is a fantastic fast-paced mode that offers huge points through quick-fire games. If you have good gunplay abilities and snappy reactions; this is definitely a great way to rank up and above all; is pure frenzied fun.

    Titanfall

New gameplay here http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11/22/titanfall-surprises-confirmed-for-vgx Pity it's tied to just the Xbox One, 360 and PC. Funny that EA announced the Microsoft exclusivity just one day after they posted a statement saying they were '100% behind the PS4' and 'didn't favour Microsoft in the slightest'! Oh well I'll just have to get this on PC; don't want to be playing on a 1280x720 resolution with the Xbox One as that will seem very retro like Windows 95. EA have really missed a major opportunity and they have to be the most stupid company in gaming - Titanfall would look unreal on the PS4 and they'd make rake in quite a bang for their buck but instead they're honeymooning with Microsoft to try and diminish Sony! Idiots the lot of em
  19. Arma II Complete Collection @ £3.39 from £16.99 Arma III may be out but it's vastly unfinished and needs much work so the second one is worth a punt for a game with lots of content
  20. The Xbox One's killer release game and one of the most anticipated next gen games scores a whopping 6.8 on IGN! All the Microsoft fanboys have gone extremely quiet after plaguing the message boards after Knack scored poorly on the PS4. Looks like both consoles have had a poor exclusive release so far but it's early days yet.
  21. EA are much worse in my opinion! EA are probably the worst publishers in industry history. They destroyed Medal of Honor; a legendary title which launched the careers of IW's Jason West and Vince Zampella just to make a quick dime. They screwed up with Sim City and every release in the last 6 years has been plagued with issues. Origin is laughable and the only way EA can move forward is by tapping-up other firms employees and ripping off the gamers. I really hope they go broke as they are the scum of the industry. Activision get a fair bit of stick but they invest heavily in the Call of Duty franchise and allow substantial flexibility for their developers.
  22. This game is made by Telltale Games who gave us The Walking Dead. The Wolf Among Us is a very similar five-episode series which looks amazing and once again, your decisions through choices affect the narrative. Here is the review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrzLlepxdsk Available on the PS3, 360 and PC.
  23. May as well just play BF3 instead with all these maps already in bought and paid for without the bugs or server issues. Bringing them back seems desperate, effortless and if they charge for them; it will be an utter disgrace! I cannot believe EA have done this.
  24. This is what I've had to put up with on PC from day uno! I've had about 2 reasonable days but the rest have just been so bad that we've just accepted it now...
  25. Why is it IW fix one problem then cause other issues with things that were perfect? It's like me decorating my living room and having it look nice and then suddenly the roof of my house blows away. I just don't geddit with this franchise...
