  1. Ah that explains it! I've accumulated nigh-on a thousand and didn't know how. I still think the system is a bit too generous but is pretty ideal for purchasing the high-value soldiers
  2. The Witcher 2 for £7.49 is a good deal. Portal Double Pack for £4.49 Assassins Creed III £9.99 Age of Empires III Complete £10.09 Spelunky £5.99 The Orange Box £7.49 Rampant deals being upped!
  3. 4. Coming out next month! Just imagine in 10 years we may have GTA 5 on our mobiles:-0
  5. I mostly play Cranked now thanks to players not playing the objective. Kill Confirmed is horrendous solo and Domination is hit and miss. At least Headquarters and Hardpoint encouraged objective play from each player. I went 41-34 on Kill Confirmed earlier with 44 tags out of a possible 65 and the next best player went 33-4 with 6 tags - we lost thanks to that camping moron. 6 bloody tags FFS!! I am giving up with KC now despite having a blast on it in the last couple of COD games - if it wasn't for Cranked; I'd be stumped for a good mode to play and enjoy consistently.
  6. I usually play Domination and Kill Confirmed in Call of Duty but I'm finding myself completely addicted to Cranked to the extent I'm in the top 100 on PC - this is a reflection of how much I've been playing the mode and not how good I am at it;-) It's really good for ranking up fast although this isn't one of the reasons why I primarily opt for the mode but the points on show are very high for seemingly minimal work. I am still not completely sure how the frantic scoring works but even 15 or so kills can see you walking away with the equivalent of 35 kills in TDM in half the time. The games come thick and fast and so do the kills. It's a bit annoying if you are lagging but if you get 'cranked', you can really build on the kills in rapid time. The mode is tied to a reduced map-rotation with the likes of Freight, Tremor, Sovereign, Strikezone, Prison Break and Octane popping up regularly but this isn't so bad as most in the list are some of the better ones associated with the game. The likes of larger maps such as Siege, Chasm and Stonehaven aren't to be seen. This makes for matches lasting from between 3 to 6 minutes at most and points are fairly rife to accumulate. You can also walk away with some huge killchains in quick succession on people that aren't cranked. A good start is very important as if you fall behind, you may fall victim to numerous opposition that are cranked and the match can be lost and you could walk away with a very bad score. On the whole, this is a fantastic fast-paced mode that offers huge points through quick-fire games. If you have good gunplay abilities and snappy reactions; this is definitely a great way to rank up and above all; is pure frenzied fun.

    Titanfall

New gameplay here http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11/22/titanfall-surprises-confirmed-for-vgx Pity it's tied to just the Xbox One, 360 and PC. Funny that EA announced the Microsoft exclusivity just one day after they posted a statement saying they were '100% behind the PS4' and 'didn't favour Microsoft in the slightest'! Oh well I'll just have to get this on PC; don't want to be playing on a 1280x720 resolution with the Xbox One as that will seem very retro like Windows 95. EA have really missed a major opportunity and they have to be the most stupid company in gaming - Titanfall would look unreal on the PS4 and they'd make rake in quite a bang for their buck but instead they're honeymooning with Microsoft to try and diminish Sony! Idiots the lot of em
  8. Arma II Complete Collection @ £3.39 from £16.99 Arma III may be out but it's vastly unfinished and needs much work so the second one is worth a punt for a game with lots of content
  9. The Xbox One's killer release game and one of the most anticipated next gen games scores a whopping 6.8 on IGN! All the Microsoft fanboys have gone extremely quiet after plaguing the message boards after Knack scored poorly on the PS4. Looks like both consoles have had a poor exclusive release so far but it's early days yet.
  10. EA are much worse in my opinion! EA are probably the worst publishers in industry history. They destroyed Medal of Honor; a legendary title which launched the careers of IW's Jason West and Vince Zampella just to make a quick dime. They screwed up with Sim City and every release in the last 6 years has been plagued with issues. Origin is laughable and the only way EA can move forward is by tapping-up other firms employees and ripping off the gamers. I really hope they go broke as they are the scum of the industry. Activision get a fair bit of stick but they invest heavily in the Call of Duty franchise and allow substantial flexibility for their developers.
  11. This game is made by Telltale Games who gave us The Walking Dead. The Wolf Among Us is a very similar five-episode series which looks amazing and once again, your decisions through choices affect the narrative. Here is the review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrzLlepxdsk Available on the PS3, 360 and PC.
  12. May as well just play BF3 instead with all these maps already in bought and paid for without the bugs or server issues. Bringing them back seems desperate, effortless and if they charge for them; it will be an utter disgrace! I cannot believe EA have done this.
  13. This is what I've had to put up with on PC from day uno! I've had about 2 reasonable days but the rest have just been so bad that we've just accepted it now...
  14. Why is it IW fix one problem then cause other issues with things that were perfect? It's like me decorating my living room and having it look nice and then suddenly the roof of my house blows away. I just don't geddit with this franchise...
  15. Rage @ £3.24 from £12.99 - an excellent FPS
  16. The only issues I have with the game after two weeks remains the lag problems on PC and the spawns in Cranked and Kill Confirmed. I think this is the best CoD game since the likes of Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops but the old lag nonsense is becoming increasingly tiresome and the spawn issues is a bit of a surprise as I felt the system was excellent in Black Ops 2.

Changing the leaderboard filter then scrolling would sometimes cause the user to be sent back to a previous menu screen, fixed. We now show dog tags to spectators in Search and Rescue. Ensured the ratchet sound only plays when first entering the summary after a game. Replace generic unlock icon (head/helmet/uniform) with text description of item. Fixed a bug with shooting down a heli sniper with a gryphon. Riot shield assists challenge balancing. Fixed operation completion bonus to account for multi-tier operations rolling over. Improved UI messages to explain rewards. Added a “Track Operation” button helper text in the operation selection menu. Make it so the CoD Anywhere confirm button does not disappear when you back out of a field edit popup. Fix for mismatched player cards in extinction mode. Added thermal hybrid scope hint in extinction HUD. Fixed an issue where backing out of a certain error popup would cause the player to sit in a lobby that wouldn’t fill up in Squad Assault. Fixed unlocalized text in the Extinction unlock screen for Extinction abilities.
  18. All the Multiplayer data is stored on the IW servers apart from any DLC such as the map packs. The campaign is quite a beefy install for such a short venture
  19. I'd say the smaller maps on modes like Cranked and KC is the issue and probably more to the point, me playing on PC. Any 50/50 situation no matter what gun I have I always lose as they are pretty much a OHK from close range. They are pretty useless from distance as expected but the people equipping them really know how to use them and play the more dirtiest games in terms of camping and jump-shotting. I'd be pretty useless with a Shotgun as I don't like that style of play for the modes I opt for such as Domination, Cranked and Kill Confirmed but many players just milk it with the speed perks and the general noob way they play. From my experience on consoles; shotguns were less used in Black Ops when they went primary when compared to MW2 and in Black Ops 2 I found them to be pretty well-balanced because the maps were fairly tidy and open but from PC perspective and considering I play primarily Cranked which tends to be on small to medium maps; their sheer power with the MK setup and the way the maps can be played in the mode; I can see why some would opt to use them and play the most tedious and infuriating styles.
  20. Rumour http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/11/20/rumor-first-map-pack-for-ghosts-set-to-release-on-jan-28th/ DLC packs names http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/11/21/rumor-onslaught-devastation-invasion-nemesis-names-of-the-four-map-packs-for-ghosts/
  21. I'm on PC and Shotguns are so rife it's borderline unbearable at times. Even on the larger maps, players will opt for these and hide around corners waiting to pounce. They seem so overpowered that it's nigh-impossible to stop them in any 50-50 situation and for the rest of the time you're treading on eggshells as to where the next shottie user is going to pop out from. Most seem to be using marathon and lightweight perks with SOH so they are moving round swiftly and not needing to catch a breath. On Strikezone, they dominate and you don't even need to be comfortable with the weapon type to have a decent game. I think Shotguns are a good choice but the ones in Ghosts just seem too damn powerful to play against on many maps against players who are very skilled at using them. I don't know how popular they are on the consoles but I imagine they are a good weapon of choice for many players on different modes and maps. They are just very tough to play against on PC.
  22. I hate these bloody things! Even in Cranked I casually dart over one and still get blown up yet if I equip the lethal; I can't get a kill for love nor money. Am I missing something or is there some cunning way to avoid them once they arm? I've tried jumping and sprinting over them but I always end up getting exploded in typical fashion. They are an absolute pain in the arse if even a couple of the opposition roll with them especially on tighter maps like Freight, Strikezone and Tremor particularly in the camping hotspots. Do they arm based on radius or if you step on one direct? Is there a perk that can counter also? Thanks!
  23. Episode 2 here http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/11/18/call-of-duty-ghosts-mythbusters-episode-2/
  24. Wow! Looks amazing and the Vita is certainly coming good with the PS4 compatibility http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/11/18/ps4-call-of-duty-ghosts-running-on-the-ps-vita-remote-play/
  25. Call of Duty Ghosts probably isn't the best example of a next gen game - even on PC, it looks worse than BFBC2. The PS4 version is a good step-up from the old gen and the new consoles are way ahead of what is currently possible on these systems. You look back at how ropey some of the early PS3 games were and look where it finished with GTA V; we didn't even think that game was possible on the old systems. The future is almighty bright for gaming and the likes of The Division will propel more and more higher-end quality games in the future on a massive scale. The likes of Ghosts and BF4 are very much attached to the old gen but in a few years time; the step up will be considerably more noticeable and games will be on another level.
