  1. I was playing against this team earlier and the advantage a couple of them had was just mind-blowing - if it wasn't for the killcams showing the lag; anyone would think they were hacking. The match was misleadingly smooth but the lag was prominent as hell just by the combat occurrences. I was also in a match where I went 31-7 and I actually felt bad for the other team as it was painfully clear I had the edge in the match from a connection POV. They really need to address this - the games seem to be running better but the lag is clear as day and whoever has the better connection; wins and wins well. I don't want this to end up like a Treyarch game where I get so fucked off with it; I have no choice but to play HC mode and hope to pick them off before they see me.

  3. Reviews are in and a bit of a mixed bag. Certainly doesn't look like it's going to live up to the hype but then again; not many games this year have. I'm not a HC AC fan so I may skip this and pin my faith in Far Cry 4. Great to see DA:I looking good though which could be another solid replacement in my collection.

  6. Glad they've upped the KC limit to 85 although I was in a game and stopped to go for a piss when 65 was reached no realising the score had been increased, ran to the bog, came back and I had died 4 more times as the match was still going on

  8. Still really enjoying this game aside from the connection problems and other issues that are in the process of being rectified by patch. At its best; it's one of the better COD games of late and certainly up there on par with BO1. It's fast and frantic fun throughout and all the maps represent a very high standard along with the weapons. The objective modes are brilliant fun if you have the right team mates onside!
  9. There is some severe calamitous errors in this game than need to be addressed that aren't even on the list. It's a great game but SHG really have their work cut out on fixing it fully.
  10. Many people are starting to see this screen now Reminds me of the shitty old Treyarch days where the game is good but no fucker can seem to play!
  11. The one and only good feature Ghosts had was Squads which enabled to to rank up in MP against just bots. As above^; AW does have customisable bot matches but you can't progress but at least you have all guns, perks and modes available. Combat Rediness is non-ranking combat training like BO1 but certain elements are disabled such as killcams and other players as well as bots are also in the mode.
  12. Ah the old 'skill-based matchmaking' which seems to be some overused PR spiel that I've never seen put into action. It's more of a myth now but every year the devs seem to promote it as a key feature despite it's non-appearance just like dedicated servers!
  13. This has been the worst implementation in Call of Duty history and is ruining the games IMO. Theoretically it should have been a good idea to balance lobbies out so everyone is on a level playing field but the fact that connections are being manipulated in such a diluted way accomodate the weakest connection in the lobby and the core matchmaking is unreliable; it's just a complete mess and the lag is simply unbearable. It was introduced to eradicate host advantage but all lag comp has done is made one player with a bad connection sink everyone else in the lobby to a massive disadvantage. I'd do anything to go back to the single host days of MW2 where our own internet connection was responsible for our own success assuming the matchmaking was executed into a sensible locale. One player with an advantage is better than 11 others at a disadvantage. I was in a match earlier; ran a dream for myself and everyone else. One player departed and was replaced by this chap in Morocco; suddenly the connection sunk to oblivion yet it's not anyone's fault; probably not even his as he wasn't within a reasonable locale to be placed in our lobby but the affect his presence had on the game just turned it upside down to an appalling standard. Lag is really killing the fun in AW and making the game run extremely inconsistently. How is it faring on the PS4 and is it noticeable?
  14. I really like all the maps - there isn't one that I completely hate and avoid playing. Retreat looks pretty bleak but it plays incredibly well and is possibly my most favourite at the minute. Defender and Riot are also up there. The one that I'm not a huge fan of is probably Horizon as it could have been much better but it's still not too bad. Glad we don't have a 'nuketown' map where everyone persistently votes it in match after match although Greenband is proving popular in many lobbies it seems. It's rare that a COD game has such good core maps as they all look great and play really well. To think last year with Ghosts; I had to play a mode I hated just to avoid the likes of Siege, Chasm, Stonehaven, Free Fall and Stormfront! There doesn't seem to be any camper-friendly ones in AW plus with the verticality gameplay; people on rooftops can be easily got at.

I'm shocked that they've done this with the camo - I've only unlocked a couple on my most used weapon (BAL 27) and am creeping towards prestige only for it to reset entirely when I eventually reach 50. I think the camo challenges per gun are satisfactory to last the duration of the game so I'm glad they are tuning this.
  16. Can't believe Man City lost again at home in the CL going down 1-2. They're still in with a shout of qualifying incredibly but they had Fernandinho and Toure sent off which could hamper them further.
  17. Good job Phil. The modding scene is going to be mental for this game! I've already done the story of the 360 and had a gander at the MP which didn't hold my interest but I'm certainly going to pick this up again. GTA 6 will probably VR-compatible for sheer 'authenticity' probably

May revert to the standard edition for the suppressor though. The RW1 as my secondary is unreal also - practically a OHK even at range!

  20. The SN6 is a very powerful SMG I've found. Not the best on paper by the look of things but even on larger maps; it can be effective. AR's are the dominant force of this game though

Ghosts was my first game since CoD 4 on PC and despite it being shit anyway, it felt a bit strange playing away from console although I've settled into AW pretty nicely and with the game being compatible with controllers; I'm handing it pretty well. The KB+M looks a bit too tricky to master and my old 360 pad from 2007 is tearing some players apart which is good! I may even invest in an Xbox One windows controller soon
  23. Played a few missions so far and it's really good. They've done a fantastic job with the animations and it looks spectacular. Also feels like a proper COD campaign which will be memorable in the long run and not a complete bore like Ghosts was last year with that bloody dog. Well worth a play through and hope to finish it by the end of the week.
  24. I prefer to think of it as just COD with the exo's I was a bit on edge with all the Titanfall comparisons but this game still retains the COD feel and is simply streets ahead. I thought this game would be a departure from the typical Call of Duty but it's no different than BO2 minus the extra mechanics and is by far a better game. Certainly a pleasant surprise and has perhaps given the series a kick up the behind after last year. You thinking of getting it Phil?
  25. I absolutely loved Black Ops 1! It was a great game to move away from the exhausting MW2 at the time. I was sick of the persistent noob tubing, OMA and Commando users. Also 4 kills pretty much guaranteed you an AC130. I loved MW2 but BO was more sensible and toned down but retained the fun factor that MW2 had at it's best times. I loved the maps, the killstreaks and the guns. It was a tremendous package only let down by bad bullet detection and lag. Definitely the last COD I truly enjoyed. AW so far is different and has the fun factor but I don't know if it will capture the brilliance of the good old days.
