SPFreely reacted to GazzaGarratt in Physical or digital?
Well I think you know why the second option has a vote so far
I did write about this when we had a blog as its something i'm quite passionate about. I think it boils down to the facts of practicalities so I do understand why people go for Digital and also why the only reason most of you still buy Physical because of 1) Price and 2) resaleability.
I think I just have some hereditary traits in me, like hoarding/collecting things and some principles that stick with me. I love the aesthetics of buying physical games although now they don't even give manuals for most games which is disappointing. For some reason my brain doesn't feel attached to Digital games as much as they don't feel 'real' - its probably why I am more inclined to play console over PC maybe.
Maybe not relevant for newer games but for older games I think the argument is there more in my favour. They came fully complete with no Day One patch and they hands down beat emulators for feel and aesthetics, with original graphics and controllers. Nothing beats blowing the cartridge, sticking Wiz n Liz in and playing some levels like the old days with your mates.

If it’s a game I’m going to spend a lot of time on I go digital. If it’s something I’ll play and possibly trade in I go physical. Considering I only play like three or four games a year most are digital nowadays

Prefer physical for paid-for games (not PSP)

SPFreely reacted to techno in Physical or digital?
Physical simply because they are cheaper, if they bring down the price in ps store I'll buy digital I very rarely if ever trade in games.

If it’s something like a steel book, or a neat version with goodies, or a Nintendo title; physical.
All else digital.

Physical for me. Maybe I'm old school and just enjoy that feel of going to pick up a new game and having an actual disc.
Same with books. Give me a hard copy book to read over a digital version every time

SPFreely reacted to The3rdWalker in Fortnite Season 6
It's is a system implemented in Battle Royale and now other games like Rocket League to reward players for playing during a pre-established length of time for specific items that are exclusive to those seasons... It's another method to reward playing, progressions, dangle the carrot in front of the horse, etc. So season to them is just a window to complete challenges and get exclusive in game cosmetics.

I did have Spurs originally but I put Wolves more as a joke instead but it could happen and they've made quite a positive start. Some of the players they have on their books is very impressive and if they bolstered a couple of other positions in January; they'll easily have a better side than Man Utd😎

Interesting, Wolves in 4th. Well I guess it's very possible. There is a great chemistry between their attacking players.

I'm not sure, I don't tend to even look for any DRM free copies. Have you played Hollow Knight? or is it something you want to play?

SPFreely reacted to GazzaGarratt in Champions League reaction 03/10/18: Tottenham 2 - 4 Barcelona, Napoli 1 - 0 Liverpool, thoughts and discussion
I didn't watch both games but I have seen Salah this year and I called it early doors that he felt like a one season wonder. He doesn't look anywhere near his best and they need that extra magic sometimes to get through games like Napoli. I just wonder when it comes to the crunch who will step up for Liverpool now.

I don't think there's a thread for this, so post any comedy classics you find here. To start here's Father Jack....

SPFreely reacted to Spacedeck in Leftover Game Keys
So I have some games sitting in my Humble account that I already own, so let me know what you want and I'll send them. I don't believe keys are region locked, so hopefully anyone can redeem them. All of these should be available as they aren't showing up as redeemed, so fingers crossed.
Fortune-499
Magicka 2
Cities in Motion 2
Dungeon of the Endless
GRID 2
Hollow Knight
All are Steam keys.

I'll take the Hollow Knights if you don't want it. My son has been wanting to play it. And, I wouldn't mind checking out Magika 2 and Grid 2.

Hope you manage to redeem them just fine 🙂.

I'm currently at the height of my career working for the best company I've ever worked for. I'm a building manager and my line manager is worth £3b so hopefully I'll get to call him dad one day and get written in to his will. To get here I've had quite an illustrious career which has involved unblocking toilets in a prison and moving office furniture for £50 a day. It's been an extremely long and difficult road but being able to wear a suit to work and work with people who aren't constantly scratching their bollocks and picking their noses has made it all worth while.

I work as a Personal Assistant and Support Worker for a Social Worker. It's a unique experience. Without being a social work student you're getting a first hand look at everything, whilst contributing in a small part. My primary role however is to provide support for a Social Worker who is dual impaired in eyesight and hearing. Unfortunately, my job is up in a couple of years and I can choose to either forge a new working relationship with another client, which will prove difficult or my ideal plan of turning Twitch streaming into an income of some form.
I just wanted to say this explains why you're all such a well rounded bunch of people. You all do really interesting, worthwhile and essential jobs here.

SPFreely reacted to McNasty in Retro gamer looking to start a streaming 'career'
I've been on quite a nostalgia kick myself over the last year. Here's a list of what I've been after in the last year;
Picked up a SNES mini in August, been working on Link to the Past (again), Secrets of Mana, Donkey Kong, Super Mario, Mario Kart
PS2 - all the Tony Hawk games, Def Jam Vendetta, Midnight Club II
N64 - Ocarina of time, 1080, Super Mario
PC - Kings Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory series. Original Myst and Riven. Syberia, Grim Fandango. Bought them all on Steam
Welcome aboard

I work for Michelin. I’m in quality. I inspect tires. Well not so much inspecting now as I babysit 15 grown adults since taking this new position a few months ago. Been there 12 years now. Eighteen more until I can retire 😩

Dan, this has been a really good thread.
