Seriously though, read it thoroughly, he really backs up his claim, and he raises a ton of good points. //Yes its still Batman //Yes, all of us Batman Fanboi's will play it, but still.

    The spawn village is there because it was in the seed, we literally spawned that close to it. Take food from it, but replant it. Trade with the villagers if you ever get emeralds, but there isn't a reason in the game to kill the villagers, destroy their houses cause you need wood or cobble, or any other the other random crap that happens to those guys. If anything, treat it as a Fancy Mob grinder, as mobs go nuts trying to kill the villagers.

    Replant them if you take from them. Its a PITA to log on and have to replant entire sections again.

    look at the DNS address, versus the IP, the ports are totally different, thats why whomever gave you that address/ port combo, told you wrong

    The difference is one requires your local DNS host to be updated, and the other is the straight address to it. Typically DNS hosts update once every 12-24 hours.

    If you want a road to your place (As we don't have minimaps currently under 1.7.2), let me know and I will build one in creative for you. There are a few floating around already. If you have a specific style and its not something silly, make a small section of it and post a pic, I will use it as the template for area.

    Don't stray to far from spawn, it kills server performance and I noticed a good bit of lag and chunks not loading yesterday. //Seriously can't wait until I can get world guard back and pre-render this whole world for us.

    we are not. I have no idea why this one kicked off, as the server only has Manual Backups. I honestly don't know what happened. I logged into the server, saw it was doing the backup. It ran, and then stopped. It wasn't kicked off by anyone, and there are not auto backups

    It started a backup cycle, which is horrible timing, i will look into why once it finishes, but we are down for about 10 minutes. sorry folks, I never thought to check if backups were auto when I set this up.
