Sounds like I should give Avengement ago. Watched Red Notice and pretty much agree with you guys, good but underwhelming at the same time. As much as I like to give new films a chance I find myself more and more going back to older ones I haven’t seen in a while, like I did today…..with Starship Troopers.

Right been a while since I posted on here (have been watching more sport and tv series), but got back into watching a few films before work:
 
No time to die (new bond flick): For me a good stand alone film not just bond film, good building of new characters, including remi maleks villain. Won’t say much more as to spoil the plot but worth a watch.
 
Rock’n’rolla: Great film from Guy Richies back catalogue of british “gangster” films. Well written, great wit and good cast of characters. Just waiting on the promised sequel.
 
Bloodshot: vin diesel action flick, classic one man army blowing everything up with an interesting concept but pretty underwhelming if I’m honest. 

Gunpowder Milkshake: honestly I’m in two minds whether I liked this or not. Saw many reviews that built this up as “Jane Wick” which is a little inaccurate, think more a mix of John wick and kill bill but with maybe a bit too much girl power/fuck the male establishment, which is a shame considering some of the cast in the flick. Again not a bad one time watch but you may feel like they missed a trick on what could have been a good film.

This was the first Christmas in who knows how many years that I didn't go anywhere, and that was awesome.  We usually spend the days around Christmas running around visiting family so I was actually really looking forward to this Christmas.  The wine was flowing early.  Aside from some gift cards from family I usually only get a present from my parents.  Me and the wife stopped giving each other presents a long time ago.  Usually I get something house or camper related from my folks but this year I really couldn't think of anything I didn't already have so I didn't give them any ideas.  They decided to get me an Oculus Quest 2 VR set which is something I'd never even thought about honestly.  It's amazing how far these things have come compared to the last time I tried one of these about 5+ years ago.  I haven't played any games yet but I did watch about 3 seasons of Turn on Netflix lol.  Its like being in a legit movie theater with a massive screen.  Also jumped out of a few airplanes with a wingsuit on flying down mountains, rode some roller coasters, Blue Angels ride alongs, etc.
 
The Oasis cannot come soon enough!
 
And TIL about Lynx Africa gifts being a thing lol.

Been meaning to leave a review for a few films recently. 
 
Tenet. Very good film for action and original story. As with most recent Christopher Nolan films it is shot and directed very well with a good cast of characters and great dialogue, though quick explanations are used to cover the more scientific principles of the backwards action. 
 
Lemans 66: Great car porn. Obviously a very American version of events but to be expected when dealing with a historic “victory” over the Europeans. That being said very good chemistry and individual performances from Damon and Bale, and some good racing (and crashes too).
 
Bad Boys for life: I have greatly enjoyed this franchise, but can’t say I was as happy with this film as I wanted to be. There’s still a lot of action and a great relationship between Smith and Lawrence, but just found the whole back story of it all a little off, given they have been partners since they joined. Still some very good scenes and good plot twists but not happy with the route they went with the story and you can tell it isn’t directed by Michael Bay. Again a good film, but just not as epic as I’d hoped.

First off I hope you guys all had a good day yesterday, even if it wasn’t quite how we all would have liked it to have been. I had a good Xmas day with the family, especially little nephew. Haul of presents was pretty much alcohol related, with a bit of money to go to a new tool bag as well. Now thanks to Boris we’ve been bumped into tier 4 so gonna sit back and chill with today’s sport and continue where I left off yesterday making a dent in the alcohol supplies. Will probably get online from tomorrow onwards so will hopefully catch up with some of you then. In the meantime hope you all enjoy yourselves 🍻

No worries everyone. I didn't think even I would struggle for time and other things around this Christmas week but here we are! Kind of helps the fact you guys could see who won what before me as it was automatically done by the system.

Hopefully, like @phil bottle says above, it gave many of you something to look at, get behind for a bit of fun and joy as that was the only intention because it was only for existing FGers.
