  1. Some of my favorites . . . These two should be in one clip, but online it's split into two . . Always loved this scene with Denzel because it is something that is true with my own personal life and the changes and truths I finally came to realize some years ago Then there's my favorite clip from any movie ever
  2. I use to love that game when I was a kid. Jump ET down the hole and find the M&M's
  3. Some more progress on the yard/bonsai garden over the past few days. Still a ways to go but it's starting to take shape now.
  4. Thanks Tommy. Feeling really good lately, it's funny how your body gets use to eating better. On Easter I had what was always my favorite meal, fried shrimp with ranch, broasted potatoes, butter garlic rolls and a brownie my sister made. Within an hour after eating I felt so damn sluggish and tired I could not believe how bad I felt. I guess since cutting out all the fats and empty calories my body just wasn't use to it anymore.
  5. Time for an update. As of today I have now lost 25.5lbs since getting back on the strict diet and working out. Total weight lose over the past 2 years now is about 140-150lbs total. Still doing lots of bicep and tricep workout routines. Took a measure again today for the first time in a month now and have gained another 1/4" on biceps, so now at exactly 16" biceps. Still doing curls with 50lbs but plan to up that again to 55lbs this weekend because I feel like my muscles are getting use to the 50lbs already as it is not as draining as it felt when I first bumped up to 50lbs. Figured I'd share a few pics (wank bank for Diddums ) Picture on the left is me about 4 years ago at 395/400lb range. Picture on the right was me summer of 2012 at about 245lbs, was pretty happy with that weight but was not happy with lack of muscle mass or tone in my arms or upper body Cant see because of the shirt but biceps were 14.5" in that pic, as you can see my forearms were somewhat thin too. Then this pic from today after the morning workout. 260lbs, 16" biceps, and much more toned upper body now. Still have a ways to go but very happy with the change in my life that has taken place over the past 2-3 years now. Still working on building more strength in the upper body, and still want to drop a few more lbs, or even stay close to this weight but just trade fat for muscle per say, but currently I feel I am in better shape now at 42yrs old than I was at 22yrs old.
  6. Also got some more work done on the Monkey poles today.
  7. Crepe Myrtle came today. A very good customer bought me a gift certificate to a bonsai shop online as a thank you so this is what I bought with it. Great looking little tree and fits right into the collection very nicely.
  8. Latest tree (a boxwood) that I took from nursery stock to first shaping to train as a bonsai. About 7 straight hours of work on it tonight. . . Before.... After....
  9. Started working on turning one side of the backyard into a bonsai garden. Along the fence was totally overgrown with weeds so spent the day yesterday removing all the brush/weeds. Now today I've been installing some Monkey poles, laying down weed barrier, and pea gravel. Still have to get some more gravel, build some platforms on top of the monkey poles for the bonsai to sit upon, and going to cover the metal fence behind them with a long natural reed fence. I'll post up some pics when it is totally done soon. Here is where it is at right now.
  10. I might have to see about getting a pair of those socks myself Doc. Since I've started back walking a few miles every week I haven't been getting blisters at all but I can feel some sore spots where my shoes rub on my feet after walking.
  11. Tommy I wish I did have but the truth is the only tip that works is the honest decision to make a change in your life. I tried many times to quit doing things that supposedly helped like nicotine inhaler, the patch, certain foods, changing when or where I smoked, trying brands I didn't like the taste of or just cutting down slowly. Honestly the only way to really quit is to know in your mind that one day smoking will be the cause of what kills you. Once a person honestly realizes that to be true and then makes the decision that they want to live as long and healthy a life as they can then quitting actually becomes much much easier. It's all about getting your mind right and simply being ready to put it down because you want to live. I know that's not really a "tip" but it's the honest truth.
  12. Don't ever give up just because you fail at something the first (or 50th) time. The will power I have comes from determination to keep trying rather than some great will power to be able to quit the very first time. Meaning for example quitting smoking...I bet I "quit" at least 50-60 times till I finally managed to beat it for good. Same with the weight, even though I've lost around 140-150lbs total I tried to lose weight for probably 10 years till I finally managed to actually stick with it and make a lifestyle change. Same goes with how I quit drinking as well. So in other words will power isn't just being able to quit something immediately right off the bat, it's just having the determination to keep trying again and again even after you fail. So if you're having trouble sticking to doing something in your own life, just keep trying, you eventually will overcome it.
  13. Today (Good Friday) marks 3 years since I went cold turkey from one & a half packs a day smoker to Zero. One of the best decisions I ever made in my life. My average Blood pressure use to be about 150/100 with a heart rate of around 110bpm. These days it is normally 110/65 with a heart rate of about 70bpm. Not to mention I've probably saved around $8000 or more in the past three years of not smoking.
  14. Pretty much the same here. I only post my rods (business related) stuff on FB and every once in awhile some fishing or bonsai stuff. Other than that I don;t pay a whole lot of attention to FB. Never even been on twitter or intagram. No interest in those things here.
  15. I know I am the same way I hate when I see people taking selfies all the time. One of my "friends" on FB is worse than a 15 yr old girl when it comes to selfies. I've seen him post at least 15-20 selfies in one day just recently. It's ridiculous. Yep that's my other pet peeve right there. Why the F do people post pics of food, or a cup of coffee, or a bottle of beer. They act like they are the only people on the earth that eats or drinks something WTF??
  16. Weigh in this morning - down 24lbs since I started back on the diet / workout program. Next goal is to try to lose another 17lbs over the next 30 days.
  17. Makes you wonder, why the hell was he standing so close to a train track to take a pic/vid of himself? Makes no sense.
  18. If you stop the vid between 1sec and 2 sec you can see it was not the actual train that hit him, there was some dude on the front of the train that stuck his foot out and nailed him in the head with his boot. Classic! lol
  19. Born 1948 so he's 66.
  20. I looked forward to 5 but was pretty let down by it. Poor acting by his "son" (can't think of his name) and too much pointless action. I like action, but some of the stuff in 5 was pretty lame action just for the sake of tossing action into it. And don't even get me started on Sam L Jackson. I use to like him back in the 90's, but these days he is nothing but a pompous egomaniac, not to mention one of the biggest racists in Hollywood.
  21. That's good Adam keep at it and you'll have 200 before you know it. I upped the curling weight again today. Now doing 50 lb curls in sets of 10. It's funny how much heavier 50 lb curls feel then 45 lb curls even though it's only a 5 lb difference Feels good though.
  22. I have to stop going to the local bonsai nursery because my bonsai tree collection is starting to get to the point where it's too big to have someone take care of it while I'm on fishing trips. Stopped in today and found a really nice looking Fukien tea that I would venture a guess to be around 10-12 years old perhaps. It was being grown as an informal upright but to my eye it was just begging to be replanted as a slant planting. Since it was bigger than my others (about 20" tall) it required a larger pot so I also picked up some ground cover/accent plants to put with it. After a repotting, pruning, and wiring a few branches I am pretty happy with the direction this one is going.
  23. I'll look into that. I do need something, especially for the lower body/legs because I have been having some issues with sciatic nerve pain the past year or so and I know they do suggest some sort of stretching as a way to relieve pain from it.
  24. I could build it
