The local cichlid club I am a part of had our annual fall auction today. IMO one of the best yet. Picked up some beautiful fish (9 new ones today) which completed the stocking of my 75g office tank now. The VC10 caught my eye soon as I walked in and I was not about to leave without him!

I do a lot of biking myself these days, but I refuse to ride in the public streets. They even put in some "bike lanes" around here over the summer, but still, fuck that. I'm not riding in lanes next to cars. People can't drive worth a damn these days so I'm not putting myself out on the road to get killed. I stick mainly to sidewalks and side streets myself. -
Peoples driving is the one thing that is my BIGGEST peeve in the world these days. Anymore you can't stop at a single intersection without seeing some (usually multiple) idiots turning left on RED simply because they are too damn self absorbed and think they should not have to wait for the green signal. Then you mix in speeding and all the assholes that are on their phones while driving and it honest makes it were I hate to even get out of the house anymore these days because people drive like total fools.

Electric motors, especially brushless electric, can be insanely fast. The power is full power in a fraction of a second I remember that from my brushless RC car days years ago, but a muscle car without a nice deep throaty sound and lopy idle of a big cam that rumbles the ground? Just doesn't do it for me. Still cool though for sure.

One of my friends that lives in California owns a very large and successful solar company. I've talked with him a few times about solar and about why more people are not going to it. His reply is that it is still way too expensive (the initial investment) for your average everyday middle class person, plus even as efficient as the panels today are, they would still take up a large amount of land just to fully power an average home. Most of his customers are very well known movie stars out in Cali because they are pretty much the only ones that can afford the really good systems from what he says. Another thing to keep in mind is ....nothing is free when it comes to the Government. So while it sounds good in theory for society to go solar to save money, that most likely won't happen. Just take a look at how many states are now starting to tax hybrid cars. The state/Gov will make sure that they get their cut of the pie no matter what. So if more people start going solar and less money is funneled into the power companies or state/Gov channels then I would bet there will be "solar taxes" down the pipe, if there aren't some already. The above is in reference on the consumer level only, I don't really have any thoughts about it on a larger level because I haven't read much about it beyond consumer level.

Sorry Mike just now saw your reply, forgot to check this section for the past few days.. UFC for the PS4 is pretty friggin' awesome! I like it a lot better than the PS3 Undisputed one I had before. The controls are much more elaborate on this one now, the only thing that is easier to do are the submissions and submission attempts. Easier to attempt as well as defend on this one which is a good thing. Graphics are awesome and there's lots of blood as well when you land some big hits. Power take downs are pretty awesome as well. I love using Dan Henderson and suplexing the hell out of people

I never can just sit still, seems there's always some project going on, it keeps me happy though.The last few nights of mid 40's here in SE Michigan have had me getting worried so did some work today to get my tropical bonsai trees set up for winter. The past few years I have just been sitting them on a shelf under a small light, but my tropical collection has tripled over the summer and I needed to upgrade the overwinter set up for them now. So spent the day building an 8ft long bench for them, bought some new twin tube lights and daylight bulbs, Also have the set up behind one of my 75g aquariums which has on open air canopy, that way they are not in danger of being bumped into, plus the 75 gallons of 80F heated water 3ft in front of the trees should help keep the humidity up for them this year. Some pics of the new setup as well as a few of the tropicals, mostly Fukien teas, Bougainvilleas, and ficus.

Combing it during the itching stage helps a ton. This time I had about 2 weeks of the ichty stage and soon as it started itching I'd comb it for about 5 mins and it'd make it a whole lot better.

Whoa the beard thread, here's a blast from the past I forgot all about this thread I had shaved my beard off awhile back and just had the Robert Downey Jr Balbo style thing going for awhile. Recently started growing the full beard back again. This time I think I plan to grow the hell out of it and let it get a good foot long now. Current pic now...

I have NO IDEA WHY lol but for some reason I just felt like downloading this song tonight. I actually just paid .99 for it lol. I would wager a bet most you younger guys have never heard this...Marshall and Jay maybe, Tommy?? perhaps?? but I dunno. Haven't heard this in years till tonight. Brings back memories of my teens, love this song.

Oh man you're kidding me, now I HAVE to catch up and talk to ya about it because I like McGregor, but Faber is one of my favorite fighters! I love that guy man he's friggin awesome.That's a great coach match up. They are both great young fighters. Okay we'll for sure talk more about UF shortly. Let me see if they have the first episode or two I missed on my Comcast "On demand" so I can get caught up and we'll talk more about it this coming week. On another note but related...you see the latest UFC call up 2 months ago? Sage Northcutt? I was following that kid in the legacy series till his call up. He's a monster man He's gonna kick some ass in UFC now that he's there.

You guys seen the previews for this thing yet? I'm not a big horror fan, I enjoy the classics like Halloween, Friday the 13th and such as much as the next guy, but this Green Inferno...holy fucking shit that looks sickening as hell!!! I don't think you could pay me to go see that shit.

Done with working on rods today so spending the rest of the afternoon with a pot of coffee and working on some of my bonsai trees.
